Excellent lodge and experience
Longhorn lodge is the perfect set up for a family getaway! We traveled with our kids (2 are adults) and my parents. The space was wonderful. The upstairs gave the kids their own space! And the outdoor deck was our favorite. The open floor plan was great as well! We will be back!
This house was great for our family! It was just as described…well stocked, nicely furnished, lovely outdoor area, great hot tub. The location was a short drive to everything we did while there. The grill was nice for nights we cooked at the house. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again!

Great Weekend Getaway!
The Longhorn Lodge was private and absolutely perfect! It looked exactly like the pictures and just as described! We cooked, we sat in the hot tub, we had a fire, we played games, and the two common spaces had great tvs for watching NFL playoff football. Start to finish, Jaci and her team took care of us. We will continue to book with her!

Perfect get away
The cabin was beautiful! Our children loved it. So much room for my family and grandparents to move around. Very spacious. Close to town. Very quit and cosy. Would love to rent this cabin again.
The cabin was beautiful, comfortable and well stocked! Even though the weather was rainy, we had a great time just relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. I did use the concierge service to surprise my husband with a custom order of local beer, snack box, and chocolate covered strawberries. Everything came out beautiful and tasted wonderful. It really topped it off as a great overdue getaway for us!
My husband and I had a fantastic week at this home. We enjoyed the hot tub after hiking nearby Beaver’s Bend State Park. We appreciated evenings at the fire pit eating s’mores. The king sized bed was very comfortable. We were grateful the home was pet friendly. Beautiful setting amongst tall pines. We loved dinner under the large covered porch. The kitchen was lovely and well equipped. Wonderful home for family and friends to gather!
The cabin was nice, clean, and in a secluded wooded area with a nice creek behind it...the downfall was the door code was not given until 1 hr before checkin and with 5 different phones it was far enough out that we all lost our phone service and could not get in...had to find another cabin visitor who barely had service so we could get the code to get in.. We didn't have wiifii service and wasn't aware this was going to be an issue...otherwise a nice cabin stay......oh, there was only 1 kitchen towel...that needs to be addressed..
We come to Hochatown 2-3 times per year and always try to stay in a different cabin each time. So, my review will be relative to all of our other stays at other cabins in the area. We loved how this cabin was down at the end of a dead end road so there was no traffic. We also loved that the kids could wander their way down to the creek. We also liked the layout of the cabin. Host was easy to communicate with. The downsides are that the mattresses were very uncomfortable. Upgrading the beds would completely improve the experience here, this was our main complaint. You could feel the springs through the mattress and it was a very springy type of feel on all beds. One “nit picking” recommendation I would have would be to not use the cool white light bulbs in the house. It takes away from the cozy ambience you really are looking for in a cabin with this sterile office blue light feeling. Lastly, and this isn’t a deal breaker, but does contribute to the overall experience related to other cabins. There is only 1 roll of paper towels and a couple of rolls of TP per bathroom when you check in. The agreement tells you this, but most of the time at cabins in Hochatown there is a much more generous supply of these things so we didn’t think to check the agreement. Again, not a huge deal. But considering all dishes must be wiped down and this is a family oriented cabin - this would be a nice touch to put it a little more on par with other cabins. Overall we had a good time.
