This lake house is the perfect spot for your family to enjoy the beauty of Lake Champlain. Walk right out the door to the private dock and beach area, which allows for access to all of your favorite water sports and activities! The area is particularly excellent for fishing and ice fishing.

Enjoy lounging in beach chairs to watch the beautiful sunsets over the 'Gut' of the lake. In the evenings, enjoy cooking a family meal in the well-equipped kitchen, or have a cookout on the new gas grill and enjoy a meal under the back deck's electric awning. Indoors, the electric fireplace will keep things warm, and central air-conditioning will ensure that summer guests are comfortable. A desk workspace just off the kitchen is perfect if you need to complete some remote work. This quiet and secluded location is ideal for families and groups looking to get away to the lake!

As you enter through the front door, the foyer opens to the kitchen, dining room, and family room. To the left, you will find the first set of bedrooms with a full bathroom. Through the dining room is the primary bedroom and bath. Both the family room sofa and the office couch fold out into beds. On the lower level, you will find two additional connected bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a twin bed in the kids' "TV" room. There is also a Ping-Pong and dart room with two extra refrigerators. The house comfortably sleeps six upstairs and five on the lower level. Large groups or multiple families will find an additional three spaces to sleep for a total of 14.

Great views, some issues
This is clearly a well loved family home. The views were great, the upstairs bedrooms were comfortable, the living and dining room were cozy. The laundry room was a huge plus. Kids enjoyed ping-pong and games. The lake is a sheltered area great for swimming. We did have a few issues with the home, however. Upon entering the home, there was a strong smell of mothballs that did not dissipate throughout the week. The deck was not accessible from the main living space due to a broken lock. Looking back at the reviews, this was a problem in July and nothing was done. The deck was accessible through a bedroom, which is not convenient and even that door was difficult to open and close. The deck itself was cobwebby with old furniture but usable, and the grill was appreciated. The downstairs bedrooms were musty. The dock had a broken board when we arrived but Vacasa sent someone out to repair it. He was not able to repair the door lock to the deck, unfortunately. The kitchen was well appointed, however there was no regular coffee maker, only keurig. The blender was broken, and this was an inconvenience as it was listed in the amenities and needed for the nutritional needs of several guests staying. Vacasa can be challenging to communicate with, however, when we finally were able to speak to an actual person, those representatives attempted to be helpful and were kind. They were even helpful in getting trash collection to come to the home as the trash was full when we arrived.

2/10 Terrible

We didn't end up staying.
My wife and I checked into the Grand Isle Lake House on Friday afternoon shortly after 4pm. Upon entering the house we noticed the smell of mothballs was overpowering. We unpacked our car... bringing our luggage and two chihuahuas inside hoping we'd adjust. Unfortunately, within an hour it became clear we wouldn't be able to stay. I contacted Vacasa support by phone and informed the agent I spoke with that we'd be leaving. By that point my wife was having a full-blown asthma attack. The agent offered to contact management to see what could be done and I explained to her that we really couldn't wait for anyone to get back to us and that we were leaving. I simply wanted Vacasa to know. She understood and said she would note our account and that we were all set to depart. As we were packing our car we ran into a maintenance lady from Vacasa who'd been sent to look at the deadbolt on the door leading to the back deck. We'd reported that the bolt couldn't be turned and we couldn't gain access to the deck from inside the house. She couldn't get the bolt to turn either. While in the house with my wife the lady agreed that the smell was indeed overpowering and that she'd be reporting it herself. We ended checked into a Hilton in Burlington and stayed there for the remainder of our stay in Vermont. If possible I'd really appreciate a credit or a refund for our stay in Grand Isle.
