We had a good stay overall. The location is absolutely fantastic—close to 4th Avenue and within easy walking distance to the beach, all in a quiet and safe neighborhood. The beds were very comfortable, and Sid and Alix were responsive and thoughtful hosts, checking in regularly and even leaving snacks and wine for us on arrival, which was a nice touch. The apartment was clean and having access to shared laundry was convenient.A couple of things to keep in mind: the space felt smaller than expected based on the photos. As it is a basement unit, there is limited natural light. The kitchen setup is also quite basic—there’s no full oven, just a hot plate, microwave, toaster oven, air fryer, and a small counter top dishwasher. This worked fine for us since we only prepared simple breakfasts and snacks, but it could be limiting if you plan to cook full meals.Being a basement, there were a few issues typical of that type of space, like occasional bugs and less-than-ideal ventilation. While there are windows, none have screens, which would have been nice to be able to open windows. My husband also noted that the carpet had a bit of a smell.Overall, a comfortable and well-located stay with attentive hosts—best suited for guests who don’t need a full kitchen and are okay in a basement-style space.
