Perfect Getaway!

We are local but needed a place to stay while home had work done. Our family had an amazing time. Location couldn’t be better. What small issues we had upon arriving were quickly corrected by property management. Lots of space for family and dogs. Beautiful view to boot. Would love to stay here again- love this IRB community.

We had a great stay at the property, everyone had a really good time. The location was fantastic, just a quick and easy walk to the beach which was never over-crowded day or night. It's also on a small and quiet dead end street, but still close to some stores and restaurants in walking distance. We had plenty of room for everyone, which included 5 adults, a teenager, and a 3-year old. Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived, and it was great having access to some chairs and beach towels so we didn't have to pack all of that. We also had a very simple check out process. I would definitely recommend the location and would absolutely stay again if I was back in the area.

The house was great with a very nice view of the ocean from the porch. We really enjoyed are stay here and visited the beach everyday. The beach access was less than a 5 minute walk down the street. I would definitely stay here again.

Great Family Get Away

My family and I really enjoyed this property! The location literally looks down the road at the beach, and even with a 3yr old walking slow, is about a 6min way from the waves. Area was very quiet in the evenings, and comfortable for our group of nine. Loved cooking with the family, hanging out at the beach during the day, and playing cards late at night.

Deck was large and amazing. Could see the gulf from the deck and got a lot of sun too. 2 block walk to the water. Condo was clean and very comfortable. Had minor issue with TV so I called Darcy and Matt. Matt called me back right away! Designated parking spot. Would not hesitate to stay here again. We really liked the condo.

Amazing home in an incredible location

We loved our stay at this property! The property owners accommodated our unusual circumstances and gave us the vacation of our lifetime! This property has newer kitchen and laundry appliances and all of the needed equipment to enjoy family time or low key beach time. It is located on million dollar beach row with views of the beach from the home and walking access to the finest beach within less than two blocks. This house had us seriously contemplating quitting our jobs, selling our home, and permanently relocating. This was an experience of a lifetime and the owners have set the price point much lower than expected. Thank you!!!!

Host was very unhelpful and home was infested with cockroaches.

My family and I checked in on Sunday and by Sunday evening the German cockroaches were out and about all over the rental kitchen and bathroom, there was not just one or two. I have a 6 minute long video of them. The host sent someone out to “spray” and 24 hours later they were WORSE. Darcy was unhelpful and tried to compare spiders and roaches. Which are never the same. I have attached the proof of roaches along with the conversation between me and the host so you can see for yourself how someone you pay money to will treat you. Beware of this property as it ruined our family vacation. Also VRBO was very unhelpful in this situation as well, as they say that cockroaches are not a health concern. I would add videos if it would allow me.

A lovely place in a lovely place

The apartment is spacious, nice, comfortable, has everything a family needs for a lengthy stay. The balcony looks over a street onto the ocean. A beautiful view during sunsets. Parking is right under the house. The beach is on the other end of a short street. Restaurants are less than a mile away. Each end of the marvelous island are about 30 minutes north/south. You can drive or bike to the beautiful places. We even walked quite a few miles one day. The owners were responsive when we couldn't find the house on the first day. I would recommend to the owners to explain that 2nd St is off 7th Ave because Google Maps took us somewhere else. I would also recommend to install screens on windows and to make the air conditioner to go below 71F. Without these 2 it maybe interesting in the summer heat with mosquitoes. We were in January.

Ok stay

The location is wonderful. Getting access was a breeze and the host communication was excellent. The house is in need of some TLC and updates. The floors were dirty so wear your shoes. The kitchen sink, you could not wash any dishes/wash fruit or veggies, since it is cracked and falling apart. Bathtub was very old /dirty and wasn't the best shape for bathing a toddler. The doors and baseboards were in rough shape. Updated clear photos would have showed that. The one bedroom had cleaning supplies in the closest(that was locked) and the smell would not leave the room. I had to have my toddler sleep in our room since I did not want her or anyone else sleeping in the chemical smell. Overall a decent place, updated photos are needed and the house needs some TLC.

We greatly appreciate your feedback. This property is scheduled for updating and renovations in the near future with that being said, we believe the pictures posted are a true representation to the charm and comfort of the property. Many items you brought about in your review could have been taken care of if they were shared with us during your stay, more specifically, within 24 hours, which is mentioned in our house rules/guide. Looking back at our communication during your stay, your group never mentioned any of the above items. There was communication about a remote, which was remedied. We also made you aware multiple times during your stay that we did have maintenance in the area and to let us know if you needed anything. The response from your party was that everything was great and nothing was needed. Again, if we were made aware of any of the items you mentioned above, we would have been more than happy have someone stop by to meet your needs better. Unfortunately, supplies for the house and our cleaning service need to be kept in a locked area so yes, they do need a closet. I can assure you, there are no cleaning sprays/supplies in there with harmful chemicals as those are brought in and out by our cleaning service for every clean. Again, we appreciate the feedback but would have also appreciated the opportunity to have assisted with the items you mentioned if we had the appropriate notice, communication, and or pictures to support your claims.

Great location… need new house cleaners and maintenance personnel

Upon arriving there were 3 tvs in the home only 2 remotes to be found. Fan in queen/twin room would not turn off and my 5yr old granddaughter had to sleep in bed with me in order not to be decapitated. I tried calling the property owners and no answer. They would message but would not answer a call. Their response to remote they would have to look into getting another one and never any clear answer on fan. About the 5th day my oldest son found the remote shoved behind bed and he took the glass globe off the fan to extract the cord to turn it off. We also tried to cook and found that the oven was locked and had to google and YouTube how to fix it because again owners wouldn’t answer my call. Porch rails have many loose boards, and it in itself seems to be barely attached. Again location was wonderful short walk to beach, beach toys were nice. Also can’t forget to mention the twin bunk bed room… beds are on ground (super low) and awkward to use. My youngest son slept in bottom bunk and has bites from head to toe. We have taken him to 2 drs since returning home, and both are saying bed bugs. Please check into this as it’s not something someone wants to get on vacation.

We do not appreciate people having the ability to flat out lie about their stay. There has been ZERO bed bug reports and this guest should not be able to defame the property in this manner. Unfortunately, we knew this review was coming when we would not apply any refund to our home for no reason why as many of the above was not brought to us during the stay or after the stay but appear in this review of lies. Typically, we try to be more tactful in a review response, but this is just ridiculous. To say that we were not communicative is completely incorrect, we responded to every single message that was sent by this guest, in terms of phone calls we respond via messages which is what we told this guest for this very reason so we have a paper trail of the conversation as well as for any damage claims (we will get to that). Our family stays at this property every chance we can and absolutely love the coziness of this property, being able to sit, see and listen to the Gulf, and walk right to the beach. All the reviews surrounding this one are 5 stars and people cannot wait to rebook. It is unfortunate that people try to use reviews as a way to get money from people, but we will not give a refund unless something is our fault and none of the lies listed found any credibility to us. All credibility was lost when we were informed by our cleaning staff that we would have to throw away about half of our towels because they were used to clean up feces, good news for all our future guests because the towels are now new.

As former athletes and education enthusiasts, we bring Midwest hospitality to Tampa Bay. We relocated here a few years ago, but our ties to the area go way back to Grandparents bringing us down on vacations of our own.
