Cozy cabin in great location
This cabin was so cozy and centrally located to great downhill and x-country skiing and hiking. Gretchen is absolutely wonderful; she is so accommodating and easy to get in touch with. I really enjoyed my stay and will be happy to visit again in the future.

We had a great stay at the cabin. It was perfect for our visit to the area.
The cabin was just as described. We cooked a fair bit and the kitchen was well stocked with cookware. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed watching turkeys and deer in the yard. We would absolutley stay here again. Thanks so much.
Super cozy cabin! Everything was clean and comfortable. The owner clearly takes pride and care in maintaining and stocking the cabin. Hope to stay again!
Stayed at this location for my 2022 Montana elk hunt in the nearby Tobacco Root Mountains. This rental far exceeded our expectations! The amenities and the decor were amazing! I will be booking this residence again!
This was a great stay and Gretchen was responsive and timely! THX

Wonderful, funky, eclectic cabin
We stayed here for 4 nights and loved it! The cabin is really cozy and very well equipped. Reminded me of my grandmother's cabin on the river where I stayed as a child. If you are looking for modern and sleek, this is not the place. There are turkeys next door, deer in the yard, wonderful fishing nearby.
I thoroughly enjoyed my five week stay at Gretchen's Cozy Cabin. I had everything I needed and some nice extras: water filter for drinking water, extra cleaning supplies, lots of fluffy or crisp linens, and a bonus deer family that came by twice a day. I had a lovely time, as did my dog,
The cabin looked adorable in the pictures and exceeded our expectations in person. There are so many personal touches that fill this home with warmth and character. The town of Sheridan was wonderful and welcoming. If you're there, you have to have pizza, salads, or baked goods from Bread Zeppelin. It was soooo good. Amazing fishing nearby with so many rivers to chose from. Bannack State Park and Virginia City were a great find for ghost town adventures. We would highly recommend a stay at the cabin.

About the host

Hi I am retired and travel between the mountains and the deserts of the West. The little town of Sheridan I have always loved and now am happy to be able to offer my quaint and cozy cabin to travelers. I love the outdoors and nature, camping, skiing, rafting and horseback riding. I travel with my 2 small Jack Russell terriers and usually have my horses in tow.
Why they chose this property
This is a property I have loved and stayed in before I was given the opportunity to purchase it. It is an older cabin with so much charm and I love the little rural town of Sheridan. Close by are the historic towns of Virginia City and Nevada City which are so much fun to visit again and again, a trip back in time like no other. Also Sheridan is small, quiet, peaceful and sits in the Heart of the Ruby Valley surrounded with many mountain ranges and rivers. World class fly fishing abounds. The sweet white tailed deer frequent the streets of town. Twin Bridges is another close town, small and charming.
What makes this property unique
This cabin is central to much of Montana sightseeing, fishing, hiking and recreation. It is a wonderful and tranquil place to come home to after a day of seeing Montana, a peaceful yard to BBQ. Sheridan has a charming small town feel but you can get just about anything you need with a grocery store, restaurants, library all close by.
