Welcome to Round Lake Retreat on beautiful North "Round" Manistique Lake!
Note: Peak summer stays are Friday-Friday (Summer 2026: June 19-AUG 21st)
- 1700 acre all sports/ spring fed lake
- 2000 Sq Ft (ranch) Cottage (3 bedroom/ 2 full bathroom)
- Open Floor Plan: Over 900 sq. feet of the cabin is open to the water/ wall of windows for spectacular views of the lake!
- 7 total beds
- 4 x11 ft island that seats 10 people comfortably. The Great Room has comfortable chairs and couches to seat 9 adults.
- Fully stocked Kitchen to allow ease of meal preparation
- Starlink high-speed WIFI internet (run all of your connected devices/ VPN with ease) 60-200+MBPS
- Large Samsung Smart TV for Connectivity / Streaming
- Dedicated workspace in master suite
- Bath towels and bed linens are provided
- Large Washer and dryer available for guest use
- Large Propane Grill / Gas provided for customer use
- Owner is local to address any concerns (if they arise) during your stay.


The home has a large home dehumidifier and a whole home fan to keep the living spaces cool and comfortable in the summer months.
Jump in the crystal clear (spring fed) lake, or enjoy the many beautiful attractions of the UP. This property is located in the heart of all the popular destinations in the Eastern UP. (under 1 hour drive)
- Fire pit and campfire wood are provided
- 2 kayaks (12 and 14 ft) and oars available for guests
- Private dock
- Private Beach (Just a few steps from the house / exceptional ease of lake access)

Winter: Ride directly to the snowmobile trials:
- 10 min to McMillan corner (Trail #498)
- 12 min to Trail #43 towards Seney
Plenty of space to park trucks and trailers, and a car port to store your snowmobiles at night. This property is located on a private road. Snowplowing is included in the rental price. Ample space to hang snowmobile gear/ helmets.

Home away from home

Clean and comfortable property with lots of amenities and very helpful host. The lake is quiet and nice for swimming or boating. Lots of day trips that are easy to do from this location. We fully enjoyed our stay and would recommend!

Great location for a family vacation.

The Round lake retreat had everything you need for an awesome family getaway. Sandy shallow lake entry, perfect for swimming. Close to many of the Upper Peninsula attractions.

Beautiful location. The kids loved swimming, taking the kayaks out and exploring the lake shores for wildlife. Made a great day trip to Mackinac Island and a visit to Tahkuamena Falls. Chris was a great host.

Great Cabin for Family Gathering

This is a great cabin! Very clean & comfortable. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrises and sunsets while sitting by the fire pit. Highly recommend staying here we hope to return again.

Winter Wonderland

So grateful for Round Lake Retreat! He helped us out in a pinch and the property is amazing. It was a snowmobilers dream. My kids loved the atmosphere and were so comfortable there. Looking forwards to more winter trips to this location!

This was a wonderful vacation spot. Clean and tidy home with all the amenities we needed. The lake is beautiful as well as the surrounding countryside. The owner communicated well with us. The home is centrally located to many of the attractions the U.P. has to offer.

What an awesome place to stay! The house has a large commons area with plenty of sleeping space. We loved the seclusion and quietness while enjoying camp fires in the evening. Chris is an excellent host and was very responsive and available.

Great cabin for North Manistique Lake

Beautiful cabin on a beautiful lake! Spacious and well-equipped kitchen (best we’ve ever had in a VRBO rental) with a large island/table that seats a lot of people. Chris was quick to respond to questions and made the whole checking-in and -out process easy. We’ll definitely stay there again.

As a Michigan native, I have grown up around family cottages, lakes and snowmobiling. I am local to the property, and I'm available to support you during the duration of your stay.

Why they chose this property

The Manistique lakes system is very unique and is predominantly a "Mom and Pop" community that thrives on summer and winter tourism. This lake is very peaceful place to end the day. Most of the major eastern UP attractions are a quick drive (30 mins to under 1 hour) to make day trips. The 12 foot vaulted ceiling in the Great Room provides a perfect way to unwind and relax.

The Manistique lakes system offers excellent seasonal opportunities for anglers. (Several DNR launch areas on all three lakes) Make sure to watch out for the Eagles doing some fishing of their own, and enjoy the sound of the Loons in the summertime. The large kitchen island will be the gathering place for late night card/ board games just in case the weather doesn't want to cooperate.

What makes this property unique

The sun will be over the lake all day long, and the view from the Great Room is spectacular! Over 950 sq feet of open space faces the lake. The master bathroom is the only space that does not open up to a lake view. The moon rise in the summer is spectacular! Round Lake is very unique, as it is a spring fed lake. The water is crystal clear and shimmers in the summer sun. The well on the property sits on one of the springs feeding the lake. Uncommon to most lake cottages: the well water is free of iron and only passes through the refrigerator filter to drink. You will not need to tote cases of water with you to the UP!
