This place was so fun! The building itself is beautiful. My husband is a musician so we had a blast with all the musical instruments and even hooked up the microphone and spotlights and had a fun karaoke night with the kids. We had dinner at the Bull and Thistle Pub on Main Street and the food was amazing and they even had live music. I would absolutely recommend this place for a fun escape with family or a relaxing getaway.

Great stay, minus security camera next to bathroom door
The old church house was a fun, unique place to stay. Would love to leave a stellar review, if not for a couple glaring issues.
One, there was a key sitting out in plain view upon arrival. Although there was lockbox with keys to get in the door, there was also a key on the step that opened the door, meaning anyone could have entered before we arrived.
Secondly, there was a security camera inside right next to the bathroom. I brought this up with the property owner and she justified that she was allowed to have it there based on local regulations, even though VRBO policy explicitly prohibits any type of recording device inside a property. We contacted VRBO about this, but never received any confirmation that this issue was resolved. As an FYI, there is also a security camera outdoors (this is allowed per VRBO policy as long as it is listed in the description, which it wasn't).
Otherwise, the property is in a beautiful and scenic part of rural Tennessee. The host has included several thoughtful accommodations including speakers, a projector, coffee maker, etc. Honestly, we just enjoyed turning on the music and dancing with all the space. It would be a really fun place to stay with a group of friends!
What an amazing, cozy, comfortable and peaceful place with loads of soul! Host was outstanding - gracious, thoughtful, considerate. Warned me of a blizzard due to arrive when I did, helped me plan appropriately, and the space was warm and welcoming on my after-midnight arrival. Lots of musical instruments (in tune!) gave me a chance to play a thanks to the old timbers sheltering me for the night. Would be a wonderful space for a small group traveling together to share. Would return in a heartbeat.
