The River House is a large farmhouse, that borders the scenic Juniata River, with a stone section built in the 1790s. Enjoy canoeing, fishing, swimming, campfires, and more! Watch and listen to the trains across the river as they go by. There is plenty of space to relax, but also so many things to do for those looking for entertainment. The home comes with a large 1 acre plus yard for recreation and games. The back porch is equipped with a grill to compliment the firepit. The house is located one mile from downtown Mifflintown but is relatively private and tucked away. If you are looking to host an event or book a wedding, check out the-river-house.com !

This place is amazing! It is huge! We had 19 people and didn't feel crowded at all. Not only was there a great room for all of us to gather, but other nooks for smaller groups. And the kitchen table seats 18 people and has 2 refrigerators. Although the weather was cold and snowy, River House was cozy and warm. Host was very quick to respond to queries. Grocery store really close by.

Stayed here for the weekend for a family wedding that was in the area. Place was very clean upon checking in and had no issues while there. The house is large and located right next to a fishing stream. Very peaceful and quiet setting. The owner is quick to respond to questions. So glad we stayed here.

We had a great time at the river house. Beautiful setting on the river, plenty of space, and lots to do. The covered outdoors area, fire pit, grill, pickleball / shuffle board court, and wide open back yard made it easy to spend most of our time having fun outside. Definitely recommend!

We had a really great stay at this location. It was easy to get to and close to town but had a country feel. The kitchen is huge and the bedrooms plentiful. It was the perfect location for us to attend our nieces wedding at a local vineyard
