Perfect stay for our large family. All the kids had beds and there was lots of space for everyone. Kitchen was well stocked and outside dining was perfect.
Great location! Quiet and peaceful! 6 of us flew over for Merrie Monarch. Location was great, away from the madness of people from all over the world to come to Hilo for this special event
Thank you Joyce for the quick communication and a great home to stay in for our Merrie Monarch weekend. Plenty of space and within 25 minutes of Hilo town.
It’s the 2nd time I rent this house and I really love it.
It would be completely perfect if there were A/C in the bedrooms.
I recommend this house, not in town but close enough to every accomodations.
We stayed here as a family of 9 and it was perfect! The bedrooms and bathrooms are all spacious with plenty of closet / storage space and the common living areas are also huge. There was plenty of space for eating, playing games, and spending time together. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to cook many of our meals at the house. There is also a great lanai and backyard space. I would definitely book again and recommend this house for anyone looking for a space for a large group!
We had a wonderful stay at the house! Very clean and organized. It felt like home to our group. The neighborhood was very quiet and easy to find. Great place to stay for a big family. Other than the sound of traffic which tones down late at night, I would say, the house is PERFECT! Location was very close to grocery stores, local restaurants and Sunday market. The house had all the equipment we needed to do bbq and home cooking. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit!
Loved how large the home was, however, we were disappointed with the neighborhood and the backyard. Lots of road noise from the busy road behind the house. The backyard needs work. We were going to grill but not after seeing the grill, it was quite old. Without A/C the upstairs was quite warm. There were lots of box fans provided. I’m sure this would be a great place for a large family, just not for us!l
We stayed the week in Hilo at this adorable house. There were 9 of us and the house was plenty big for our group. We enjoyed sitting on the back patio in the mornings and evenings. Downside to the house is that there is no A/C. Also the bathroom doors upstairs don’t latch properly.
No surprises. Property is exactly as advertised. It was the perfect home for our party of 3 couples with room to spare. Don’t pass on this property based on rooster comments. Most of us found it more relaxing (white noise) than disrupting. Joyce is great communicator and made arrangements and checkin very easy.
We truly enjoyed this spacious home. It was perfect. It made our vacation so memorable. The only thing I would say is that we tried to use the oven for Christmas Dinner and it would not stop smoking. I would have that checked out before someone else tries to use it

If you like waking up at 2am , 3am ect due to rooster farms across and next door neighbors, great
There were rooster farms next door and across the street. It rained the whole time which was expected except it had runoff from the roof which produced an ongoing drum ceremony. The house was roomy and clean for the most part. The toilets well one had a sign to keep the handle up after flushing and upstairs you had to take the tank cover off to flush.

Better than we could imagine!
My family truly enjoyed our stay at this fantastic home. We were blown away at how huge and awesome this place is. The rooms are large and the entire house is very clean. The kitchen is fully supplied with everything you need except the food. We loved the huge dining table for our meals as well as our game area. Towels and linens are fresh-smelling and plentiful and the showers have a lot of hot water. The decor is well-thought of and very nice. The only cons were: 1) no A/C and we were there in the middle of August so it was quite warm inside... and 2) the house is in a residential area so you have to put up with the sounds of having dogs, roosters, and vehicles nearby. But we knew that when we made the reservations and were not surprised by any of that. We would definitely stay at this property again and recommend it for groups wanting a family-type place to stay. Thank you, Joyce!

Thank you so much for appreciating our vacation home. Please come back soon!
The house is very spacious and very clean! The garage use is nice. Especially due to the amount of rain they get. The lot in front of the house and behind hosts MULTIPLE roosters that crow from about 4 in the morning til dark. It’s very loud. Also poor cell reception and poor WiFi. Didn’t work well for 3 people trying to work on computers at the same time. I did have a toilet issue and it was handles very quickly! Great response with the owner. Also, be aware. The daily cost is for one person. It’s $45 a head after and it’s $2 a load to use the washer or dryer. It’s not a bad commitment. Just want to make others aware. But overall the house itself is a 5 star rating all day.

Unique Rental Experience
Overall I have to say the property was clean and nice, and the host wasn't rude but I wouldn't stay here againThis property was lovely but not as cheap as it seems. The fees added onto the price were almost as much as the nightly fee and there's also a security deposit involved that I'm still waiting to see if I get back. We left the property in the same condition we found it. There was also an agreement that needed to be signed prior to arrival. The host communicated expectations very well and was in no way rude or dishonest, I have just never had to do a security deposit and rental agreement for a vacation rental before. The property was just as pictured which was appreciated and had a well organized binder with things to do and printed descriptions. Only complaint was that the AC was unable to be used. We were there in April so I don't know if most people would require AC at that time but as Alaskans we were dying in the heat, especially the upstairs bedrooms. Also, thought this was mentioned in the description it is right down the street from a fire station so sirens can be heard often-ish. Of course the owner has no control over this but it feels worth mentioning. So as stated with all of those things taken into consideration I would not stay here again and wouldn't recommend it to a friend. With that said I also don't want to make it seem like to renter was difficult, just very particular about rules.
We had all my family stay here (10) total there was so much space, house is very clean , fans helped with hot humid weather, Wi-Fi works great! Location excellent close to Hilo (15min) would definitely stay here again. Owners very accommodating and speedy responses. Only slight disturbance is the roosters will wake you in the morning but with windows closed didn’t bother and could barely hear them. 2 thumbs up for this home
This house is a super nice and spacious home with great updates and amenities. Very clean throughout. It's a lovely house in an interesting neighborhood. The neighborhood is very lively and boisterous...
We enjoyed the area and the comforts of the home for the whole family. We wished we could have stayed much longer!!
The house is well appointed, stocked and spacious - great for a large group. Check-in was a breeze. The location was convenient to Hilo and VNP. However we found the neighbors to be noisy. They partied late into the night on Friday, and set off a firework, had two large barking dogs left outside all day and night, and argued early in the morning. They also keep roosters who create quite the chorus starting around 3am. The house is also located directly off the highway and there is some traffic noise. To keep somewhat cool without AC, it was a battle to either leave the windows open or close them to reduce the noice.
