The Dove House | Adorable/Firepit/Quaint/Private (by WTG)
This adorable 1940's Sunday house is perfectly located between downtown Fredericksburg and the 290 Wine Trail. Situated on two private acres on a quiet street with a wood burning fireplace and it's own gate, activities here include gathering on the front porch for sunsets, wildlife viewing and peaceful mornings drinking coffee in the gorgeous vintage inspired living room and kitchen. Just 5 miles from Luckenbach, 1 mile from Bankersmith, and a 10 min country drive to downtown or the wineries.
This is a really special house. It was originally located in downtown Fredericksburg next to the Catholic church where traveling nuns would use it as quarters when visiting town. It was moved out to it's current location 15 years ago and it's more beautiful than ever. They just don't build houses like this anymore. It feels like you're in a perfect dollhouse, and the woodburning stove in the kitchen just adds to the cozy factor. The beds are super comfy, the living room is the perfect gathering spot or quiet spot to read a book. It also has a record player and vinyl collection for good music times. Surrounded by ranch land, nature, and the best stargazing you'll find!
Safety: We employ one security camera that faces out towards the driveway for everyone's safety.

Lovely home in an unbeatable location. The host was thoughtful and provided lots of information, and the space itself was both comfortable and inviting. We spent most of our day out exploring, but appreciated returning to this peaceful, safe, and cozy retreat.
The whole house was super cozy. It’s a 100-year-old historic home, so don’t expect modern amenities. The beds are queen-size, and I thought it was a three-bedroom since we told VRBO there were five of us. Turns out, it’s a two-bedroom with a pullout sofa bed in the kitchen dining area. Overall, it was comfortable, and it’s about 10 to 15 minutes from town. The host was the best!
Everything was beautiful! The house was roomy. We loved seeing the deer everyday. The host checked on us twice to make sure we didn't need anything. We had everything we needed.
The place is adorable, with a great and convenient location, and the property owner was great with communication. Would definitely stay again and again!
We had a truly lovely stay at Dove house. The house was well appointed, hosts were very responsive whenever we reached out with questions and the location was perfect. Highly recommend!
The house is so cute. We enjoyed the decor, the record player and the feel of the old house. It was very clean and cozy. The only thing that could be improved was the back bedroom mattress. Otherwise it was perfect for a sweet little getaway!
This lovely little house has a great location. You have the benefit of country quiet while still being convenient to Fredericksburg. It’s a great older home with all the conveniences you could want. The host, Jonny, was extremely attentive and available if needed. It’s a vacation home we will certainly revisit.
My daughter and I stayed at The Dove house to celebrate her 30th birthday. As pictured, it was an adorable house … so cute, charming and cozy. It was also set in the country - peaceful and away from traffic but still close enough to anywhere in Fredericksburg. The host was so kind … he even had a “ Happy Birthday” banner hung in the kitchen to welcome us. His wife’s homemade granola is to die for! I was just sad we only stayed one night … highly recommend!
My friends and I stayed here for the weekend for a girls trip! We loved the house so much!! There was plenty of room for all 5 of us and it was so cute. Definitely recommend and we’d love to come back one day:)
Hi Colin!
We have addressed the shower head and also labeled the cabinet with all the records to make it easier to locate! Sorry you did not find it during your visit!
Thanks!
The house was what we expected. Great size, clean, in a quiet neighborhood…glad we stayed here!
Beds and sofa in the bedroom
were very comfortable. Only thing I think would make it better is if there were window blinds was that the windows I. The kitchen
Very cute and nice. You must like older farm or ranch style homes. This is not a modern studio inner city stay. For the country enthusiasts this is a very cozy and comfortable stay.

Thanks Tonya! So glad you enjoyed :) please come back soon
My 72 year old Mom was visiting from Chicago and we decided to share Hill Country with her, including our favorite, Fredericksburg. I found this gem of a property located about 15 minutes from downtown and it was simply wonderful.
While the weather was horrific (20 degrees!) and sleeting, we arrived after a wonderful dinner at The Auslander and enjoyed the trappings of this adorable little place. Comfortable, charming and clean, it features not only an outdoor fire pit (which we couldn't use due to the weather), but also an indoor wood burning stove!
We brought our firewood from home and enjoyed a warm, toasty fire while we played cards and dice at the kitchen table.
We loved this place and will be back!
