Thank you for your feedback. The property is indeed a historic mansion, and while the exterior is still undergoing restoration—including repainting in rich, historically inspired colors and replacing windows damaged in a past accident—the interior is fully finished and thoughtfully designed for guest comfort. We hope you found the interior well-appointed and comfortable. We’ve worked hard to pay attention to the details, including crisp white linens, a fully stocked kitchen with plenty of utensils and dishes to make you feel at home, room-darkening curtains, and a TV in each bedroom. We are delighted you chose our place to stay and hope you come back to see the finished restoration. We truly appreciate your understanding and support as we continue to enhance this unique property. Have a great day!

Cozy Apartment

This was a nice, cozy apartment near downtown Jackson that provided a quiet, comfortable place to relax during a holiday visit. We brought our dog and were delighted that the property thoughtfully provided a dog bed and dishes. The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils and tools for cooking and snacking. It’s an old building with historic charm so some squeaky floors and windows but plumbing worked great and the temperature/heating was comfortable day and night (we visited during a mild December week). Overall, a positive experience and would stay again.

Thank you so much for the review. Your comfort is important to us. We live and work within 2 blocks and know how fun and convenient it is to be so close to downtown. Not to mention that we have 3 dogs so we know how hard it is to leave them behind! Can't wait for you to come back.

Nice apartment

This was a nice remodeled apartment that was close to downtown. My husband and I along with another couple came up to visit our son for the day. Host was very nice to allow us to stay just one night even though that is not their policy. Bedrooms are very spacious and the small kitchen is perfect for our weekend adventure. Very clean and she equipped the house with some very nice personalized goodies. They were very quick to respond to any issues or questions we might have. We will for sure be back to visit.

Address?

The check in process was confusing because the wrong house number was given. The apartment is nice. The AC didn't work on the last night and the WI-FI didn't work until day 5 of our stay. Otherwise it was fine.

Cute Space

The apartment was clean and we enjoyed the eclectic decor. The house is currently being renovated on the outside, so we encountered workers each day. They were friendly and this didn't impact our stay, as we were away from the house for the majority of our time there. Our only disappointment was that there was a sign in the bathroom that asked us to enjoy soap from Farm Suds which was nowhere to be found. That would have been a wonderful touch but we made our way to the Farm Suds shop downtown ourselves to make up for it, and it was a lovely excursion.

Thank you for your review! We’re so glad you enjoyed the apartment’s clean and eclectic interior. The building is currently being lovingly restored and painted in deep, rich, and unique colors—we appreciate your patience during that process and are glad the workers didn’t impact your stay. We're so sorry the Farm Suds soap was missing; that’s definitely a favorite amenity, and we’ll make sure it's stocked for future guests. We're happy to hear you visited their downtown shop—it's one of our local favorites too! We hope to welcome you back again soon.

We’re thrilled to offer a luxurious and welcoming space near Downtown Jackson, where our family has invested and built connections for decades. Orange Door Properties is a small, family-owned business led by a mother-daughter team who take pride in creating beautiful, comfortable spaces for guests, with invaluable support from our dedicated maintenance crew. Our love for Jackson runs deep—not only do we own several properties in the area, but we also operate local businesses that contribute to the community’s vibrant culture.

As Jackson continues to grow and thrive, we felt inspired to create a comfortable, well-designed retreat for visitors to experience the best of our city. Hosting gives us the chance to share Jackson’s charm with others, and we enjoy knowing that our guests have a relaxing, memorable stay while exploring everything our lovely city has to offer.

Why they chose this property

Downtown Jackson has undergone an incredible transformation over the past decade, blossoming into a vibrant area with amazing restaurants, beautiful parks, boutique shopping, and unique attractions. A defining feature of Jackson is its Bright Walls Murals—a collection of 75 large-scale murals that add creativity and color to the heart of downtown. From the scenic parks and bustling restaurants to the friendly community vibe, Downtown Jackson has so much to offer. We chose this neighborhood because it reflects the best parts of Jackson: a blend of art, history, and community. It’s the perfect setting for visitors to enjoy Jackson’s lively atmosphere, all within walking distance from our apartment.

What makes this property unique

Our building, affectionately named “The Lydia,” honors both the location on Lydia Street and the owner’s granddaughter. As a historic building, it holds a special place in Jackson’s story. The apartment is located on the second floor, right above The Orange Peacock Gallery and Millie’s Orange Sofa, an art gallery and boutique furniture store. Staying here places guests in the heart of Jackson’s creative and historic district, surrounded by local artistry and charm. When we furnished the apartment, we thought about what makes us feel at home when we travel, choosing each item to create a cozy yet stylish environment. Unique, comfortable, and in the center of Jackson’s best attractions, “The Lydia” offers guests an experience that’s both luxurious and rooted in the spirit of our community.
