We enjoyed our stay in Detroit at this lovely home. Our teens loved the space. It was great to come back to after a long day out visiting family. We even hosted a nice family dinner. Would stay here again! Communication was amazing and instant.
My family spent a weekend at this charming house. It's an older house, so yes, the floors creak. It's also furnished very simply without a lot of fancy decor. But it's spotlessly clean, the rooms offer plenty of space, and the furnishings are comfortable - both the big sectional with room for everyone to sit, and the beds. The neighborhood is likewise historic and lovely, many brick houses and shady trees. It felt very quiet and peaceful, while also offering quick and easy access to the highway for our trips to the Henry Ford and out for dinner. Michael communicated fully and promptly about check in and check out procedures. I would recommend this house especially for families looking for a comfortable and quiet stay.
This home was very comfortable and peaceful. Everything fully stocked and clean! Great host and neighbors also. Quiet block!

Great property & super nice hospitable host. Spacious w plenty of supplies like nice cookware laundry detergent etc. Looks exactly like the pics. I only warn about the stairs if traveling w small children! Also I couldn’t get the jets to work in the tub unfortunately. Still would highly recommend I’d definitely book here again.
My family was in town for my son's graduation. Some stayed at the house, others at a hotel--but we all met there to take pictures and share a meal.
Everything went great!
Very beautiful and well kept colonial home with all the accommodations. Very quiet and serene setting. Maple tree lined streets. Great for walking with a large beautiful park near by. Great dog accommodations and dog walking neighborhood. Great historic neighborhood, for those interested in architecture and home touring. Wonderful relaxing experience.
Great Location for Ford Museum, and Solanus Casey Monastery
Great place for 3 couples, nice neighborhood, very responsive owners. We were visiting Detroit, as we wanted to take a friend with inoperable brain cancer. We visited the Solanus Casey Center, which is the Capuchin Monastery where Fr. Casey lived in the mid 20th century, and performed miracles, even after he died. We enjoyed our stay in Detroit, which was further enhanced by this VRBO listing.
My wife and I visited family in Detroit over the Thanksgiving weekend. We were thrilled to find that Michael's home (in the beautiful, quiet, tree-lined Rosedale Park neighborhood) was just around the corner from my brother's home. Michael's house was comfortable and well-kept, with a large, newly refinished kitchen for us to prepare our contributions to the Thanksgiving feast. Our Golden Retriever enjoyed the stay, as well.
Very cute home. Everything smelled good. Well stocked home. If you don’t know Detroit, it’s not the best city. So driving to this home isn’t the best. But, the house is in a nice quiet neighborhood.
This was centrally located to all of our destinations. It's in a very cool neighborhood with beautiful homes and it's roomy and comfy. We had plenty of space and our dog was welcomed! The host couldn't have been nicer. If you are consider this, get off the fence and lock it down. We visit this area often and, i promise, we will ask for this home again.
We came to stay here to visit Yates Cider Mill and the Greenfield Halloween village. This was a great spot near Henry Ford. The neighborhood was clean and felt safe, and the neighbors were even friendly to us. The interior was clean and there were even little extras available in case a guest forgot something. Just a warning that there is 119$ mandatory insurance fee. But overall it was a nice property in a great spot and the whole thing was very easy from start to finish,
My two teenagers 15,16years old and myself had a hard time finding a rental because some of them don’t accept children.. We stumbled on this one that accepts children. Honestly we didn’t know what to expect, so we booked for two nights. The neighborhood is quiet. The house was clean. We extended our stay for a whole week.It was right for our family. I recommend this place.
Despite some minor inconveniences, my family and I generally had a pleasant stay. The owner resides adjacent to the property, which can be both advantageous and disadvantageous. However, I believe that if we required anything, we would receive prompt assistance. I was particularly impressed by the owner's provision of additional supplies, including sanitary items in both bathrooms, as well as cleaning supplies and trash bags.
Beautiful house, communicative owner: base supplies could use some work
We had an extended stay here (3 weeks) with a group of adults. The house itself was well suited to our needs with big beds and 2 bathrooms. Everything was in good working order.
The property is advertised for families, but it felt like maybe an extended stay hadn’t happened before. We ended up having to buy some mixing bowls and pots and pans. All of the existing pans were not only small, but severely scratched nonstick which is not preferable.
We also had to ask for hand soap, and other consumables over the course of our stay. To Michael’s absolute credit, anytime we asked for anything he was quick to communicate and follow through.
This was a nice rental for our family trip to Detroit. It had all the things we needed-full kitchen with dishes, laundry, bathrooms as well as central air (we stayed in June 2023). It’s a historic house, so it has a different feel than a modern house, but it had all the amenities that were needed. The only thing that could be somewhat of an issue is the iron railings on the stairs for little ones or the elderly. A high chair or booster and or pack n play to use would have been a bonus, but we were ok bringing our own. The neighborhood was nice and quiet with polite neighbors and beautiful scenery (grown trees, flowers, etc.). It wasn’t far from the things we wanted to see downtown or elsewhere. The record player and books were a nice touch as well as having Internet (a must for our 11 year old). All in all I highly recommend and would stay again. We had a wonderful time in Detroit.
