About this property

Pink Flamingo at the Beach

Make some memories at this vintage cottage, and family-friendly place. We are "Beach Side" just a short walk to the fantastic Chesapeake Bay Beaches. No streets to cross!

We are pet friendly and offer the following amenities: Large Smart TV, High Speed WiFi, Off-Street Parking, Gas Furnace for Heat, Window AC, Full Kitchen with Gas Stove, Back Deck, Charcoal Barbecue Grill, Two Queen Size Beds.

This is an older home in very close proximity to the beach; ideal for the beach-lover looking for a cost-friendly option to vacation.

This little beach cottage may not be for everyone. It is one of the last remaining beach boxes built during the 1940's. As such, there are vintage-touches still in place.

Pink Flamingo has many of the original features such as tiled bathroom, gas stove, furnace heating system and windows. There have been some upgrades which include the window AC unit, new roof, fresh paint and flooring. If you are looking for modern perfection, this may not be for you. Our pictures are accurate and show the home as it is. We have tried to make it a cute, comfortable and an economical place for small families to enjoy our beautiful Chesapeake Bay Beaches.

Even with a thorough modernization the property is a historical home that is now over 80 years old. It has some eccentricities that reflect building standards and designs from the turn of the last century that lends to its charm as an older beach cottage. But even so, we hope that you will love our older and charming home.

There is a brand new beach access stairway and boardwalk that will allow for easy access to the beach. Parking is right in front of your door, just off of Ocean View Ave. We are close enough to the beach that occasionally we can hear the waves, but the dune blocks our view. The walk to the beach is less than one minute if you hurry and there are no streets to cross.

The bathroom has a stand up shower and is fully tiled. We have a small back deck which is a perfect place for outdoor dining and just relaxing in the shade.
The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, silver, pots/pans, cups and glasses and will allow for cooking family meals. The dining area will be shared with the living room and is a bit small, but functional.

There is a sandy lot next door to us that is perfect for walking your dogs and or additional parking.

Smoking is not allowed inside, however we are perfectly fine with it outside on the deck or porch.

This is a family enterprise and as such we are happy to offer our home to families and smaller groups that are traveling or seeking to enjoy our beautiful beaches. No parties are allowed or tolerated. We do have neighbors close by and everyone is entitled (by law) to the "quiet enjoyment" of their homes - including you as our guest. Please respect your neighbors. Any parties will be immediately shut down and evicted with the full forfeiture of all monies paid as well as the security deposit.

Great little place for a short stay!

The location by far makes up for the size of the house which wasn't bad for us! We loved the easy/quick walk to the beach. Only "complaint" would be the amount of towels. There was only 4 towels for our stay with no washer/dryer. It's wasn't much of a problem as there is a laundromat near by.

Ideal location and cozy

The property is in need of quite.a few repairs.you’re definitely paying for location. Coming in at night was a bit confusion-GPS took us more to the public access which is literally adjacent. There also was not a lot of lighting until we pulled up into the parking space. It is cozy-we we’re fine since we were only doing a short stay and really just needed a place to sleep. Communication was amazing. We asked for extra towels and the WiFI was not connecting. All issues were fixed within minutes!

Nice but not worth the price

Overall, we were okay with the rental mostly because of the location. I do think it's a bit pricey for what it offers considering the size of the apartment. It does have charm but there were several repairs needed including a spot in the living room floor that felt like you could fall through if standing on it. The bathroom sink clogged as well. But the kitchen was nice and well stocked and the bedrooms were good. The living room furniture drastically needs improvement. There is free furniture on Facebook better than their saggy couch and stained love seat. I do like the quirky charm of the place and if it was not $200+ a night, I would not complain about the issues. This place is fine for a last minute booking or short term stay but could be improved with some easy fixes.

This place was just enough for the 5 of us. A one minute walk to the beach, half hour ride to Virginia Beach...the perfect place to stay for the week.

My stay was great the neighbors where friendly and the home was cozy. I felt at home and safe. The only thing I thought was I would be able to sit and see the beach from my back porch. But it was a very close walk to the beach. So pink flamingo we will be back soon.

Exactly what we were expecting ! We love Ocean View and this home is right by the beach access stairs, so we could easily get back and forth quickly. There are convenience stores within walking distance should you need something, and so many restaurants along with anything else you need in a 5 mile radius of the home. The home was the perfect size for our family of 3 plus dog, and had all the necessities. If you need an affordable home oceanside , this is for you !

Quaint quick stay.

So the “views” described are not directly Anywhere near your back door. The only ocean view from the rental is the name of the street. The boardwalk is a good distance and there’s at least 3-4 properties between you and the water. The place has been painted over and over and over again that many doors that are meant to open has to be literally pulled by all your might to open. The pantry looks dingy. Nice small kitchen with an array of cooking and baking ware. Tiles in bathroom problem.. wouldn’t suggest walking barefoot as some of them are uneven and coming up off the floor. Smart cast TV worked the first night and then couldnt connect to WiFi second day. Decently comfortable beds. Water H and C not marked in showers so took a while to figure out which was which. Trial and error. All in all the price I paid and what I got wasn’t terrible but I would never pay the $200+ they are currently listing it per night. Note to owners. There’s definitely a lot of reflooring and tiny things that need to be fixed.

We enjoyed the "Pink Flamingo"

The "pink flmaingo" was a cute place to stay super close to the beach. The smart lock makes it easy to check-in. It had everything we needed for our stay, the updated kitchen was nice. The house was very clean. The wifi was strong the whole time, which is important when you have teenagers! Would definitely stay again.
