Indianola Beach House - A Puget Sound WATERFRONT Home!

Approximately one hour from downtown Seattle on the Olympic Peninsula... discover the BEST sandy beach on Puget Sound! Enjoy an unobstructed, breathtaking view of Seattle, Bainbridge Island, and Mount Rainier from atop a south facing bluff.

Plan your day as the morning tide rolls gently in and out of the bay. Smell the salt air and indulge in the sounds of a beach awakening. Watch as bald eagles soar in clear sight, and herons search for their perfect morning catch. Otters play, dogs fetch and people stroll. Welcome the fresh evening air, as the lights of the Seattle skyline decorate the night sky.

This rural residential area, is just south of Kingston on the part of Puget Sound called Port Madison. It was originally established (in 1916) as a summer community for Seattleites. The Indianola dock, built when the Mosquito Fleet boats supplied the majority of transportation on Puget Sound, was easy access for weekending families. Now this local landmark has been converted for recreational use (shortened to 870 feet), and the center of on-going local activity.

THE PERFECT PLACE FOR A FAMILY VACATION, ROMANTIC ESCAPE, FRIENDS GETAWAY, OR COMPANY RETREAT!

Indianola is conveniently located just one hour from downtown Seattle via a 35 minute (Seattle/Bainbridge) ferry ride, and another 25 minute drive to PARADISE. You can also take the Edmonds/Kingston Ferry (10 minutes from the Beach House), or drive ... via the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. We are MINUTES to Suquamish, Poulsbo, Kingston, and Bainbridge Island, and just seven miles from the popular Clearwater Casino.

The months of April through the end of September we provide one dinghy, two paddleboards, and six (single person) kayaks for your use. Lifevests included! Enjoy DIRECT beach access from the patio.

The beach house is a quick five minute WALK to the center of town.. which includes a post office, the Indianola Club House, the Pavilion, and most importantly, the (famous) Indianola Country Store. The store houses a wonderful deli, hard ice cream, an accumulation of local products from area artisans and farmers, unique souvenirs, as well as basic staples for a short-term stay.

Included in your stay are high end linens, all cooking utensils, pots, pans, bakeware, serving dishes, dinner plates and glassware, full-size appliances, four flat panel HDTV's (including 2 smart TVs) with free cable channels, 2 DVD players, secure WiFi for your portable laptop. A gas fireplace, an outside gas grill, fire-pit (wood provided)... are ALL available to YOU for the perfect Puget Sound experience!

First level: Open the door to a waterfront view so near that it feels as if it’s part of the room! This level includes a 'great room' style living area with a gas fireplace and a big screen TV. A gourmet kitchen which includes a double oven/gas range, full size stainless appliances, maple cabinets, granite counters and a huge center island. A custom bathroom with walk-in shower, and a laundry room with a modern, full size washer and dryer. The living area spills off to a large 1500 square foot deck/patio area that includes a gas grill, ample dining, seating and lounging areas, an outdoor shower, and a fire-pit overlooking fabulous Puget Sound!

Second level: Enter to a cozy living area with comfy sofas, including a queen size sleeper, lots of books, puzzles, DVD’s, and a smart TV for your enjoyment. Spill off to the expansive deck to enjoy an even higher perspective. Proceed down the hall to a KING bedroom with it's own walk-in closet. Across the hallway is another private QUEEN bedroom, as well as one shared bathroom.

Third level: Enter to a sitting area adjacent to another KING bedroom with a walk-in closet. A separate (private), side room can be reached by walking through the bedroom. There you'll find another QUEEN size bed. (This is a recent change), and one shared bath. The deck on this floor is quite large.. offering a seating area, chaise lounge chairs and (of course) the BREATHTAKING view!

THIS PROPERTY HAS BEEN IN OUR FAMILY SINCE 1916. The house was completely rebuilt in 2009, and updated in 2020. We would LOVE to share the view with you!

First Class all the way in indianola

If there were a poster child for how to run a vacation home rental these owners should write the book!! This beautiful home was so clean! Everything you could possible need in a home was here, even down to tongs to roast marshmallows on, while sitting a a fire pit stocked with logs, EVEN had special fireproof firepit blankets!!! This house made our vacation so much better than I could of imagined!

Best VRBO I have ever stayed!!!!!

We rented the Indianola house for a place to stay while attending a wedding in Kingston. This place was better then I could have ever expected. The owners have thought of everything and the stay was amazing. This will be a place we hope to come back to soon again and again. The house is laid out perfectly with the two living areas for several couples or families to really enjoy. The Views are better then the pictures and location feels like your on an island away from it all. Store is walking short walking distance if you forget something.

Girls' weekend paradise!

We found this home to rent on VRBO and were excited that it slept 12! We cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner here in this gourmet kitchen for all! We stayed in our slippers and beach-combing shoes the full 3 days we were here. Scrap-booking, knitting, quilting, and beading were just a few of the activities that kept us indoors but loving the view from ALL THREE floors of this amazing home. The owners were wonderful to work with, the beds were comfortable, the linens were plentiful and high quality, the home was immaculate! We will stay here again, thank you for sharing it!

Very Best Rental Ever!

My family and I have rented many beach homes over the years, but this house surpasses them all. We spent six nights there during the recent Christmas holidays, enjoying the beach by day and fireplace by night. The spacious floor plan is excellent for accommodating multiple guests, and offers every imaginable kitchen item along with quality towels, linens and blankets aplenty. This was our second stay and Debbie was a real pleasure to work with, welcoming us with special coffee, wine, and a beautifully decorated tree. The view outside our doors and easy access to the beach left us with no desire to venture anywhere else. We look forward to returning again and again!

By far the best home rental I've ever stayed in!

My family just stayed here and we loved every little thoughtful detail that Debbie has put into this home. We had two toddlers and two seniors in our group and there was something for everyone. Lots of space. Beautiful views. And very kid friendly! The beds were comfortable, there were bathrobes for each guest and we certainly appreciated all the toiletries, laundry detergent, etc that were already stocked in the house--not many owners think about how nice that is for families to not have to buy their own detergent or hand soap for a short stay. I will definitely be bookmarking this home to come back for a longer stay to enjoy more of the beautiful sights this area has to offer!

Perfect Getaway!

My wife and I were fortunate enough to spend a marvelous week at this property. It exceeded our expectations in every regard. This is not your run of the mill vacation property. It is an inviting home that exudes love and family. The owners have thought of and provided virtually everything that one would need to make the stay memorable and stress free. The neighborhood is quiet and the locals are genuinely friendly. The location is an ideal base camp for excursions to all there is to see and do in the Kitsap Peninsula, the Olympic Peninsula, and Puget Sound. Whether you are a couple , a family, or just a group of friends; The Indianola Beach house will not disappoint!!

Amazing Celebration Weekend

We celebrated many occasions during our short three-night stay at the Indianola Beach House and will now try to come up with more to return. It is truly as good as it looks online and then some; SO many amenities I have not had in other home rentals are all included here. I am also a huge lover of the islands but they require much more travel and time from the City; the calm vibe and community feel in Indianola hit the mark and at a much quicker travel time! But I really cannot stress enough just how beautifully appointed this house is (especially the kitchen!!), there was never an item we could not find. Thanks again for sharing your wonderful home!!

Epic Views!

My spouse and I stayed 5 nights at this property to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it exceeded our expectations. We planned to do several outings while in the area but could barely bring ourselves to leave the beach house once we arrived. The views are outstanding and we enjoyed being able to walk down to the beach directly from the house. A huge bonus was that the owner is dog friendly. We brought our small pooch and he absolutely adored running on the beach, chasing seagulls and splashing in the water. The amenities at the house are plentiful and it is very nicely decorated and appointed. The outdoor decks have lots of nicely furnished space for enjoying the outside. Thank you for having us and we hope to come back one day!

Fabulous!

Our family of 7 had a wonderful time. We hated to leave. The home was perfect, more beautiful than the pictures and the views were breathtaking. We spent a lot of time on the beach and the deck. The kids went kayaking everyday! The weather was perfect! We ate out on the deck, used the fire pit, sat in the lounge chairs and watched the water and read. Both ferries were easy to access and our trips into Seattle and Tacoma were full of fun activities. The home was stocked with every item we could have ever needed. We have stayed in many VRBO homes and this one was better stocked than any other. Those little items like blankets for the fire pit, a rolling cooler for picnics at the park, games, dvds and plenty of books were very appreciated. The owners are very kind and truly want you to enjoy your stay. We can't wait to return :)

The best time!

If you get the opportunity to stay at Debbie's vacation rental in Indianola, jump at it. This place is not to be believed! The interior is beautifully decorated. The exterior is new, clean, and attractive. The view is beyond breathtaking. You literally look straight out at Mount Rainier. The beach is perfect for playing and even swimming in. The place itself has everything you could need. It's perfect for many people to stay in and not feel like you are right on top of each other. She provides games, puzzles, and basically anything you could need for your stay to be perfect. There are beach toys, towels, and chairs. Wood is even provided for an evening around the fire pit. Worth every penny! Dealing with Debbie was great. She is quick to respond and a kind person. We are so thankful for the stay at her amazing Indianola Beach House!

60th Birthday Family Celebration

Our stay at the Indianola Beach House was wonderful. The home is magically placed on the water with plenty of beachfront. Everything you could possibly need is right there. Plenty of room to spread out. We enjoyed meals together on the deck at sunset, kayaked the sound, sat around the bonfire and rested on the chaise lounges. This is also a great lift off place/home base to explore. The General Store is fun and filled with memorabilia. Debbie is truly a wonderful host and we are thankful that we had the time together as a family in gorgeous home that is filled with family history. The Ohmer Family ~

Everything we expected, plus more, and then some.

Wow! We loved this place! It was appointed very well, clean, and a great view of the Puget Sound from every floor. My favorite was the hot/cold outside shower, I used it every morning instead of an indoor shower! All the firewood you would need is provided (we were there for 6 nights and didn’t come close to using it all), kayaks, 2 rowboats, one deck for each floor, tons of comfortable seating! The floating dock is close enough to shore that you can walk out to it at high tide without having to swim, which I did and then napped for awhile using the pop-up shade to keep out of the sun. The back yard/deck area works very well for dogs, small dog owners beware that there are some ways to get under the deck; we had to block off some spots to keep our minpins from scrounging for food bits and barbecue drippings that made it through the deck. We had three cars that fit just fine in the driveway, even a fourth car for a bit with no real problem. The country store just down the road has lots of what you might need, plenty of beverages and yummy treats to choose from. Kingston is 10 minutes away, Poulsbo is 15 minutes away, and the Bainbridge ferry terminal is 25 minutes away. We parked at the terminal and walked over one morning, spending time at Pike Place, visiting the Starbucks Reserve store, the Great Wheel, and Ye Old Curiosity Shop to name a few. Poulsbo has a great waterfront area with small art shops, restaurants, and Sluy’s Poulsbo Bakery. My wife and I met at Sluy’s, we both worked there, so going back was a great trip down memory lane, not to mention the delicious donuts and pasteries! Cinnamon Rolls, Sticky Pecan Buns, Coconut Cherry Bars, Butterhorns, Doughboys, not to mention some of the traditional Norwegian treats. We don’t know if this is usual or not, but it seemed like we were spared from the wind most of the time, which made the mild weather feel great. Even if there was any wind, there were blankets provided, even ones just for the fire pit. Communications and paperwork was easy with the property owners. They have a lot to be proud of with this one; we’re probably going to come back next year!

2019 Summer Vacation in Paradise

WOW! Our family vacation at the Indianola Beach House was absolutely amazing! This home was the perfect choice for our family of 5, plenty of room for everyone to get together or to have moments of solitude. Debbie and Jeff were terrific hosts, excellent communications and everything was as advertised and more. Every little detail was thought of and the amenities were such that all we had to do was unpack and we were "home". The views of Puget Sound were breathtaking, the home itself incredibly cozy, the neighborhood quiet and friendly. We spent daytime hours on the water (along with lots of sea otters) in the kayaks provided and enjoyed the warmth of the fire-pit on the chilly evenings, we played games in the inviting second floor living area at night and were treated to an awesome 4th of July fireworks show on the beach from the 3rd deck. The whole experience was wonderful and it was very difficult to leave, if we have the opportunity we will definitely stay here again. Thank you again to the Kayner family for sharing this beautiful place!

Spacious, beautifully decorated, great views

Home run. Enjoyed the full kitchen and multiple decks. We spent a full day at Olympic National Park, well worth the drive. Day trip to Victoria which wasn't as exciting, but we did like Butchart Gardens. You can see the whole Gardens in an hour. Debbie and Jeff have done a tremendous job preparing this home for group stays. For our group of 7 it was better than a resort!

Beautiful home with a spectacular view, everything was perfect.

The home is as fabulous as the pictures. Family vacation, ages ranged from 3 to 63 and we were all very impressed with everything and had a great time. Loved the fire pit on the deck and picking up shells on the beach with our grandchildren. Perfect place to get away from the crowds and relax with family and friends. The home had everything you could possibly ask for and more, the owners couldn't have been nicer.

Wonderful Beach House

We spent 6 nights here with kids and grand kids and everyone had a great time! The house is lovely, and designed with shared and private spaces for everyone. Deck and fire pit look just like the picture - amazing. The owners are gracious and welcoming. They thoughtfully provide everything for a fun beach vacation. Would definitely come back!

Beautiful Beach House

Our group of five women spent a wonderful weekend at the Indianola Beach House. The home was clean, with comfortable beds and a well-stocked, well-organized kitchen. Lots of comfortable seating and room to spread out. Location is private with an amazing view. We plan to return!

The house is very spacious and accommodating. If you love to cook, like we do, the kitchen is loaded with everything you can imagine. The views are breathtaking! We are Debbie and Jeff. Both Northwest natives, we met on an airplane over 40 years ago! We are blessed to have three grown children and beautiful grandbabies. Jeff has been in executive management for over 30 yrs. He is currently the president and part owner of a Civil Construction Company in the greater Seattle area. I enjoy spending time with family, and stay busy managing the Beach House!

Why they chose this property

This beautiful property was purchased by Jeff's great grandparents in 1916. A simple cabin sat on this spot until (sadly) it burned down during the summer of 2006. That began the long process of building the NEW Beach House. In March of 2009 we were thrilled to welcome our first guests. Over the generations people have created amazing memories in Indianola. We welcome YOU to create some of your own!
