We had a lovely weekend, great walks and good food and drink at local pubs all within walking distance for us. Our hosts were very welcoming and the property is well equipped. We has some lovely evenings sat around the wood burner and would visit again.
Lovely, well equipped and beautifully clean cottage. Delightful patio garden. We had a superbly relaxing stay, enjoying the local walks and eating good food with great service at the nearby pub.
We enjoyed our stay very much! Having the most amazing weather for our stay too!! We enjoyed our morning exercise in the Heath and exploring the nearby towns and pubs.
Absolutely loved the privacy, the conveniences, and Ms. Jenny’s gardens. It was wonderful to be surrounded by the beautiful countryside and lovely animals.

Come and see us again!
The Stables is a fabulous play to stay, nestled in the heart of the Chilterns, with Red Kites circling in the valley.
Well equipped and comfortable, it is a great base to walk from and a short drive to Henley/Wallingford with great pubs nearby too.

Thank you for your very generous words.
We are so pleased you enjoyed yourselves.
It would be lovely to welcome you back sometime.....perhaps to escape the excess heat of Sydney! 47 degrees sounds a bit too warm!
Very best wishes,
Jenny & Robert
A comfortable quirky cottage in a converted stable. It has everything you could need and the owners are friendly and helpful. The free roaming geese and duck plus their eggs were a bonus. There are ducklings on their way and we were sorry to miss their hatching.

Well kept and organized conversion that met our needs for exploring Oxfordshire for a few days. Very friendly hosts and dogs/wildlife. Great weather and lots of things to do in the vicinity, good local pubs and walks.
highly recommended.
Perfect cottage in countryside for a short break with our grandchildren. 20 mins drive from Henley on Thames which is a beautiful town. Lovely villages round about with pubs for good food.

Characterful cottage in fair condition, kitchen a little tired. For us the issue was the shared driveway, the close proximity of the owners house, the provision of only a single key, and too frequent interactions initiated the owners (for example, on one occasion they interrupted a work call by repeatedly knocking on the door until I answered). All of that meant we did not feel it was our own space and we were not able to relax. The EV charger has a tendency to trip out now and then, I was repremanded by the owner for resetring it; we were glad to be leaving the day after that interaction.

I am sorry that you had such a miserable stay with us. We have never had such a bad review in 20 years. We cannot deny the shared drive or proximity to our house but it is all described in our listing. We have always been sensitive to our guests privacy and keep in the background unless our visitors wish to chat. I don’t recollect frequent unwanted interactions. The issue with the EV charger was an exceptional situation as it had only been recently installed.
I hope your building work has now been successfully completed
Very interesting and comfortable stable conversion. we had glorious weather so made use of the outside area. Jenny and Robert were friendly and informative. The area is pretty rolling hills with beechwoods and plenty of good footpaths to explore. The bluebells were at their peak.
Our whole interaction with the owners of The Old Stables was superb - from booking, to communication, to arrival and the accomodation itself. We were made very welcome and the cottage was beautiful. We would definitely rebook for next year.

Such a lovely review, thank you!
We thoroughly enjoyed meeting you all…especially your amazing rabbit! What a wonderful pet. I’m going to spread the word!
We look forward to seeing you next year.
The cottage was just perfect for a do nothing weekend. We have an elderly dog who loved the spacious garden and meadow. The cottage was just right and the hearth was a welcome addition to be lit in the evening. Location and local pubs and places to eat were excellent. Thank you so much Jenny, we’ll be back!

I couldn't be happier with this property. The garden was lovely, the house charming and the owners so easy to work with. We enjoyed how close the property was to some quintessential English villages.

Lovely to have welcomed you to our cottage. Delighted that you managed to come and visit us from the US after the difficult past couple of years.
Thank you for such a great review
Spotlessly clean and very cosy and warm, a huge log burner and fantastically comfy beds. The welcome was warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. We really felt like guests. Highly recommend.

It was lovely to have met you all.
My memory of your stay was as we were stuffing ourselves with mince pies and drinking sherry, you all went out for a Christmas Day run! Well done to all!
