Storybook Cabin - Private Stream, Incredible Canyon View, Starlink Internet
Serenity would be the best word to describe this rustic 2-bedroom, 1 bathroom fishing cabin built in 1934 on 1 acre secluded just above the Poudre River surrounded by the Roosevelt National Forest. Starlink internet recently added. This is the type of charming and rustic cabin featured in story books that you read as a kid. Sipping coffee is often like playing musical chairs due to the numerous grand views to enjoy and appreciate from every angle of the property. By far the best view of Profile Rock in the Poudre Canyon. Amazing fishing in the Poudre River is just a 2-minute walk from your front doorstep. Enjoy listening to the mountain stream that runs along the back patio and side of the cabin during the spring, summer and early fall. 1 hour 10 minutes from Fort Collins, 2 hours from Steamboat Springs. Please note the 2nd cabin (bunk house) will never be occupied during your stay. The bunk house is only used by owners during their personal stays at the cabin. You will enjoy complete privacy and seclusion of the 1-acre property.
Fun and convenient restaurant, bar and general store 3 minutes down the highway. Perfect mountain getaway retreat to unwind and hit the reset button. Large, fully furnished kitchen with dining area, family room with wood burning stove, tire swing, numerous outdoor seating areas, including multiple decks and patios with 2 grills. Large sun-filled yard. Sleeping arrangements are as follows: bedroom 1 = 1 king bed with private deck, and bedroom 2 = 1 king bed, and a twin bunk with trundle.
Additional Notes: No pets allowed. Starlink internet. TV has built in DVD player and a handful of older movies that you are welcome to enjoy. Tons of wildlife viewing opportunities include: mule deer, elk, moose, bighorn sheep, black bear, mountain lion, bobcat, squirrels, seasonal birds including hummingbirds.

So glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at our family cabin, Janelle! We appreciate the kind feedback and hope to host you again in the future!
We booked the cabin for a family reset before school starts this year. We had no cell service and the internet was spotty, and it was perfect. We loved the chance to unplug and commune with nature. The trees, the scenery, the deer who visited were all amazing. My kids are already asking to go back.
We enjoyed our weekend stay at the cabin! Plenty of space inside and out. The tire swing was a big hit with the kids. The views are incredible and the sound of the creek was very relaxing. The WiFi worked great for us too!

Great base for winter exploration
We had a great stay in your beautiful cabin over NewYear's. It was nice and warm even in mid winter, and it's only 20-30 min from all the wonderful backcountry skiing around Cameron pass. Nice kitchen, comfy beds, a cozy stove, nice hosts - what else could you ask for?

I can't begin to explain how wonderful this cabin was. This is my first Christmas without my father, so my family and I (husband and 5 kids in their 20s) wanted to try something different. This was exactly what we needed. The cabin was beautiful and fit us all comfortably. The bed in the master bedroom was the most comfortable bed I have slept in. We wanted remote, and we got that. The scenery from every window, especially the porch, was breathtaking. We washed our clothes and hung them out on the line outside. Ft Collins is only an hour away, and we were able to use Instacart to deliver our groceries, which was awesome. The whole vacation was magical, and the host, Aaron, was so kind and welcoming, very easy to get in touch with when we had questions. Would love to come back someday.

It honestly means so much when people enjoy their stay as much as your family did, Kristyn. Thank you for sharing!!
This really is a wonderfully updated old cabin with lots of options for watching wildlife, playing games in the yard, listening to / exploring the babbling stream, and lots of seating options outside for reading, painting and relaxing. Owner was very quick to respond to questions and to a concern we had.
Brought the family up from Texas to see the mountains and find some snow. Beautiful doesn’t even describe the scenery of canyon or mountains. We hiked along the Poudre river and drove up to Montgomery Pass trail and found snow hip deep. What an experience for all of us. Thank you for sharing this cabin, truly a slice of heaven.

Perfect location! Quiet, serene, solitary, literally just perfect! Loved the fire at night and the creek is the most fantastic background noise!!! Exactly what was needed for a reboot from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We loved being unplugged and just enjoying the outdoors. The cabin was perfect everything we needed and just beautiful! Great location for a fishing cabin! Thanks for a great place to stay.
We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at this delightful cabin. It was a beautiful cabin & just the thing we needed to disconnect from the day to day grind. The cabin had everything we needed & was exactly as described & pictured. We enjoyed fishing, kayaking, hiking, seeing wildlife such as moose & deer, reading & relaxing. The fishing in the area was excellent! This is a beautiful area of the county. We enjoyed renting bikes in Steamboat Springs for the day as well. Highly recommend this cabin.
Cabin did not look like in the pictures. No washer and dryer, smelled like skunk in the cabin the entire time we were there. TV was not set up so no tv for 8 days. Not enough toilet paper. Few roaches in the bathroom.

Monica, I am really disappointed by your inaccurate and negative review. Can you please be specific as to how the cabin did not look like our pictures in listing? We've never received this feedback so I am genuinely curious to know where/how we fell short of your expectations. Our listing is clear that we do not have a washer/dryer in the cabin so I don't understand how you are critical of this as it's clearly stated in our listing. Several rolls of toilet paper are always provided for guests upon check-in, but we do not expect to maintain a supply of toilet paper for extended stays of larger groups. Your group consisted of 8 adults for 9 days so I don't think it's fair for you to be critical of this either. As far as roaches in the bathroom, I would like to request pictures of this as we've never seen a roach is our cabin EVER. This is our family cabin that we cherish and are so very proud of and it's unfortunate that you inaccurately criticizing our property and the way we present it to guests. As far as the skunk smell, we have unfortunately been experiencing an off and on issue with one visiting the exterior of the property and we do our best to mitigate these type of unwelcomed guests.
I wish you would have reached out to me prior to and during your stay to address any issues. I generally welcome and appreciate constructive criticism, but not in this case as it's false and misleading.
