Yes the home was clean and super spacious with all amenities we needed for our weekend stay for our son’s wedding. The location was ideal for walking to restaurants and downtown. Safe and ideal neighborhood! The house was unique and furnished beautifully! The host was attentive to our needs and booking was easy!
A wonderfully eclectic home! Six of us spent a night here to go to Hidden Lake & the wineries. We all absolutely loved the decor & enjoyed the fire pit out back. It is just a couple blocks to downtown Tecumseh, which has its' own charm. Highly recommend this property.
Definitely the quaint feeling of being in the heart of Tecumseh, across from the ‘Ford’ house. Clean & space to relax. For those that look forward to a good nights sleep … the beds are double beds, but not queens as stated in the listing.
We had a wonderful stay at this centrally located house, which offered plenty of space for our group. The beautiful backyard provided a serene escape, and we enjoyed being surrounded by other historic homes in the neighborhood. The house was clean and well-maintained, with a good number of bedrooms to comfortably accommodate everyone. Even though we only stayed one night, our visit was enjoyable and convenient. Thank you!

Awe, I am so happy you loved your stay! Can’t wait to host you and your group again soon. Have a beautiful week!
This house was just as advertised. A group of five of us stayed here for a wedding in Tecumseh. The house was very clean and comfortable. It was great to have a kitchen and large living space to share. The host was helpful and flexible with our party. Close enough to walk to downtown Tecumseh and enjoy the shops and restaurants. Highly recommend for a weekend stay.
This home is a place I can only dream to live in one day. The Interior decor is fantastic. My best friend and I had a quick trip and found this perfect place to relax and catch up with each others lives. We sat outside on the back porch, with porch lights, beautiful weather, and talked and talked. Next morning, the host had coffee pods and again we sat outside. You have to see this place to believe it yourself. Bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms and awesome shower. Nothing better than getting away with a girlfriend to gain a fresh breath in life and your place nailed it! Thank you so much for sharing your 'Peace' of heaven with my friend and I.
Chateau Commune was a clean, eclectic and a comfortable stay. We enjoyed being able to walk into town easily and around the neighborhoods. Like previous reviewers we were a bit confused at the amount of food in the cupboards and fridge, possibly somebody lives here full time unless it’s rented? Even so, we disturbed nothing since it wasn’t clear. I’d recommend this house as it’s big with many places to spread out including the sizable back yard. We stay in many short term rentals so I’d like to offer 2 recommendations; have a working dishwasher or take it off the amenities list and get a dining table that is proportionate to the house/space.
This is a lovely place to stay! The backyards was super nice and the kitchen was stock full of all the necessities (spices, salt, pots/pans etc) Communications and checkin with host was wonderful. It IS an old house so just be aware of that. There are cracks on walls and squeaky stairs and old hinges. So if you wanted upgraded luxury this isn't it. But if you want quaint, quiet, clean and charm- this place is perfect. Lots and lots of space for our group, all the rooms and beds were comfortable. The only negatives is that the listing wasn't as accurate as we would have liked. Two of the beds are full sized NOT queen like it is listed as. This was frustrating as we had 3 couples and were expecting queen sized beds. (So sleeping RIGHT next to my snoring husband when we usually sleep in a king was kinda a bummer) Also- the upstairs bathroom is beautiful but only has a tub- no stand up shower. As a group traveling with all adults needing to get ready for a wedding, it was not expected for all of us to share the same shower. That said, the downstairs shower WAS amazing. It has 2 shower heads and two nozzles- so if you DO shower with your partner each of you can have your own temperature. The neighborhood was adorable, walking distance to a very cute town with lots of little stores. cafes, and shops. You are close to a gas station as well. We felt safe and comfortable and spent lots of time relaxing in the back yard as well! All in all, a great stay.
This was a cute home. We came late at night, and my young adult children had never been in a historic home before. Their first thought was “it’s a haunted house!” Lol. We got some fun giggles out of it. I thought the bathroom with authentic workshop type cabinet was cool…. My hubby asked why there’s a vise in a bathroom. Lol
The beds were comfortable. So it was perfect for us to sleep after attending a wedding. Stairs are original stairs. Small and a little steep. I have knee issues, and recovering from a broken ankle. I was ok for the one night.
We were thrown off by seeing closets full of clothes, a taped off room (like a museum with a lace rope type thing), and canned/jar goods in fridge as well as drinks. So we weren’t sure what was ok for us to use and wasn’t. Felt like we were staying in a stranger’s home without asking.
I would stay here again, knowing what to expect now.
Tecumseh is a cool little town and the property was great, exactly as advertised. Great space to hang downstairs. Backyard is awesome. Beds do the job.
