Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
I stayed a week while birdwatching at Pt. Pelee and Wheatley. The cottage is comfortable and nicely decorated inside. The internet did not work on arrival and I was required to contact the internet provider and undertake troubleshooting myself which was a pain. However, after a day or so without internet, it was resolved. The same issue recurred later in my stay, but at that point I knew how to resolve it. If there were a 'house manual' that documented the simple steps needed to reboot the modem/router, this issue could have been avoided. I suggest as much to the host but he wasn't very receptive to this point. The gardens could use some TLC as the flower beds are full of huge thistles and dandelions. Nevertheless, it was a comfortable stay and good value.

A very quiet place to stay for vacation or holidays.

My sister and I enjoyed a week of leisurely birding at Pt. Pelee - birding early in the morning and taking advantage of the jacuzzi in late afternoons.
Check in was a breeze. Any questions we had were immediately answered. The cottage was not exactly as described it was better! We needed time to decompress and relax after an unusually trying week and a half and this cottage more than did that. The home is upgraded and tastefully decorated with everything we could want and need. Such a well stocked cottage, all we needed was our food and beverage. We immediately felt at home there. Watching the birds, butterflies, bunnies, and waves had the desired effect. We truly hated to leave this safe oasis. Thank you for sharing your home!!
We had a wonderful time! Do not go here for the beach, it’s hard to get to and it’s covered in rocks so it’s not much to go for, but do go for the hot tub and property itself, it’s very beautiful. I wish they disclosed in the listing how close the neighbours actually are, they had kids running around, but nothing that made us uncomfortable or made us feel like we were sharing the property in anyway. Overall it was a lovely weekend and everything within the cottage is done with care. Thank you so much!
The cottage is in a very quiet area but only 20 minutes to Leamington which is the best option for food etc. We were aware that we could not swim or get in the water easily so did not plan on it. The cottage was very clean and well equiped for our needs. The owner responded in a timely manner to our questions.
It would be helpful to have a list of good places to eat , ice cream shops and local interests.
The cottage is on a private road far away from any traffic or any other people. Everything was very clean and well stocked with everything you'd need apart from food. The views of the lake are fantastic. Beach access is a little difficult but once you're there it is quite nice. We enjoyed our time there very much.
My family had a wonderful time at this lovely property. It is a home away from home. Very private enabling you to interact with your love ones on another level, No sirens, airplane or vehicle noises; just a calm relaxation experience. You'll learn to appreciate the singing of the birds and the sounds of the waves crashing ashore. The beach was a blast as well as the hot tub. They only need a better access to the beach inwhich I can see they're currently working on.
The rooms are bright and beachey. The sumroom at the back was the best place to relax, this area housed the hot tub and a TV. I was well entertained along with my family. From roasting marshmallows around the fire pit to barbecuing and preparing meals, the amenities provided makes for a comfortable stay. You will not miss home. Looking forward to my next time staying there.
*FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY*
This property was impeccably put together with every thought to their guests. Very clean, everything you need. Great beds. Amazing views. Daytime and evenings by the fire.
The only down fall for us was the beach access really wasnt swimable. Rocky and very rough but that’s not the hosts fault. The hot tub wasn’t usable for us as it was green but they were looking into fixing that at this time. Everything else was perfect.
Great location. Quiet and private.
Beautiful view of the lake.
Experience would be improved with outdoor furniture. (chairs, lounge chair, table?)
