Mt Baker Getaways offers
This lodge called the "Steiner Haus" in honor of its Bavarian roots. Our great grandfather Herman Steiner settled in Glacier at the turn of the century from Bavarian Germany. The lodge is 20 minutes from Mt. Baker Ski Resort.
Having 5 bedrooms, this lodge is the ideal place for a vacation with the whole family, a large group of friends, ladies or guys weekend. Great for events like, elopements, small celebrations, youth groups or corporate retreats. These may not be booked through the platform, but through our website.
Downstairs bedrooms feature one King-size bed and the second bedroom has a queen and two twin providing enough space for 6 people to sleep comfortably. Main floor bedrooms have a King and a queen bed to sleep 4 more guests.
The upstairs loft is probably the favorite of the heads of the family has a King-size bed and a view of Mt. Baker. The whole lodge can host up to 12 guests. All of our linens and pillows are of the best quality, so you can truly relax and feel pampered.
Three full bathrooms are also available, and we include toiletries such as soap and shampoo, so you don’t have to worry about packing those things. One of the greatest aspects of this lodge is that being so large, it has a large living room with a beautiful view of Mt. Baker.
The kitchen, big and spacious, is equipped with everything you’ll need to cook from the simplest to the most elaborate meals, depending on your mood. It has a stove and oven, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, microwave, large refrigerator, dishwasher, as well as all the utensils, kitchenware and tableware for that perfect meal.
Another amazing aspect of the lodge is that it is surrounded by decks, so you can have a cozy spot to enjoy your morning coffee while contemplating the beautiful nature in front of you, and why not, even spot some of the wildlife of the area. Don't forget the huge hot tub and wifi.

The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, coffee maker, etc. Which was great for our ski group since we wanted to cook before and after!
The open kitchen/living space was great for hanging together while people snack/cook!
They also supplied us with towels for the bathroom and the hot tub which made packing easy :)
We had a great time in Deming for the weekend. Beautiful, quiet location. The place is nicer than the pictures even show and slept 12 guys comfortably.
A great cabin in Glacier. Has everything you need - the kitchen was particularly well stocked. Really nice view from the common area, and a good variety of bedroom types for different needs.
This is our second stay in this lovely home. The kitchen has the essentials, the beds are comfy, the deck is a wonderful place to hang out, & the view of Mt Baker is AMAZING! Lots of room for everyone.
We'll definitely be back.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and everything that this home had to offer. With close proximity to Mt Baker Ski area, this was the perfect home for a ski weekend. The house was very clean and had tons of space - we fit 12 adults comfortably. The host, Cecelia, was very responsive and accommodating as well.
We will definitely be staying here again in the future!
Twelve family members stayed four nights including New Year's Eve. Half of us skied and the other half hung out in the cabin. The cabin is large and comfortably housed all of us. One of the twelve beds is a trundle bed, but this worked fine for us as part of our group was young adults. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment to prepare meals.
Beautiful home and view of Mt. Baker. We had a septic issue that our host was right on top of and it was resolved that day. The microwave oven also stopped working, but again it was taken care of right away. It was perfect for us and our family.
Cecelia,We really like the set up and location of your property. We have stayed before and it accomodates my family well. We had a few issues this stay. We had no use of the bathrooms or water for an entire day, the tempurature was below 60 degrees until the last morning we were there, (the furnace and vents may need to be cleaned, also a gap to outside in the front room window), the hot tub was low on water and the water was very dirty. I think we should receive some compensation.Again we really like the house.Regards,Priscilla
Big house good for friends/families near mt. Baker
The house is huge - you don’t see many properties like this near mt. Baker. It is warm, the kitchen has everything you need, there are plenty of towels including for Hottub. It is not brand new, but there are new touches across the house. We really appreciated the massage chair after long days on slopes.
I want to highlight host who was extremely responsive and helpful! I ran into the emergency the day before arrival and Cecelia went above and beyond to help me to resolve it.
It is a safe property overall, with beautiful forest nearby with amazing Washington trails.
This is our 2nd Holiday we have spent in this house. I fits my families space needs and is very comfortable, The area is nice, quiet with great hiking nearby. We will go again,
The down sides are:
Unable to find the light switch for the sconces above the couch.
The love seat upstairs needs replacing as it is torn and stained.
The walls in the bathroom also need to be cleaned as it looks like nicotine dripping when you shower.

Great house, delayed communication
It was a beautiful house and everyone loved it when we finally were able to get the code to get in. No one had any service on their phones and we did not have the code to get into the house. I had to drive many miles to get one bar on my phone so that I could email the manager. I think there needs to be improvement in this area maybe even giving wifi password or something like that so that communication with the manager could be much more rapid. It took over an hour and a half of 8 people waiting in the hot sun for me to get the code. After that mishap, everything was very good.

Thank you so much for staying with us. We are so happy you had a great time. We do email all the information for check in prior to arrival and recommend downloading the information as there is very limited cell service in the area. The check in information is also available on the app.
Easy to book.. great communication with host, Beautiful lodge, ample room for our Family of 12, in an awesome location for Mount Baker with breathtaking scenery. Had a wonderful Family Christmas.
The pros for this property: Cecilia immediately responded to my inquiries before and during our stay; the mattresses for all the beds were GREAT; the views of Mt Baker at sunset were stunning. The cons: the house doesn't have A/C so it was quite hot when we returned in the late afternoon from hiking. The house has plenty of fans so we could cool the house down fairly quickly after sunset. However, there was a strange smell coming from somewhere outside. I didn't find it too bad but my five roommates insisted that we close all windows so we were stuck choosing between a hot house or the offensive odor. This occurred all but one night--the odor disappeared sometime after midnight. Also, one toilet became clogged and the plunger at the house was more for a sink than a toilet. It was a problem only our last two nights and the six of us had no problem sharing two bathrooms. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and flatware but it needs more big pots and pans.
Great property to use as a base for exploring the Mt. Baker area! Fantastic view, spacious, very comfortable beds, well equipped, perfect for a larger group.
A couple drawbacks: we were there in the middle of a heat wave, so it was very hot inside during the day. We were gone most of the day and then utilizing the spacious deck so it didn't impact us much, and cooled off beautifully at night so sleeping temperature was very comfortable. Owners will be installing AC so shouldn't be an issue next summer. Also had the unfortunate experience of noxious odor drifting over in the evening from some neighboring property, but the owner was very responsive to try and solve that mystery.
Overall a very fun weekend, a beautiful setting, would love to check it out in the winter!
We were a fair-sized group (9 adults & 3 teens) and there was room for everyone. The beds are comfy, the main shared space is large enough for everyone, the deck is a great place to hang out, and the kitchen has the basics. Definitely recommend!
We had the best time while here, nestled in at the foot of Mt Baker we were riding powder during the day and unwinding in the hot tub at night. Any questions were answered right away and the space was exactly what we needed for our small group.
