I really enjoyed my stay at this place. It had everything I needed with many little surprises from the host. The garden is gorgeous and the place is conveniently located with its own parking.
I would definitely stay here again.
Betty is a wonderful host who made us feel welcome with homemade banana bread. The apartment is perfect for two and is located in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of several restaurants. If we return to the area, we will book here again.
Spacious, comfortable place with easy off street parking. Short walk to a large park which extends to the bay with San Francisco views.
Quiet so good sleeping, comfortable bed.
Quirky, comfortable, close to restaurants. Be aware that there's not actually a kitchen (get water from bathroom) but there are multiple ways to make coffee tea etc. Fridge is great. Lovely welcome note and home made nut bread.
We enjoyed our stay in Alameda! Betty made us feel very welcomed. The accommodations were spacious and clean. A great plus is the available parking space. Our grandchildren really enjoyed playing in the backyard on the putting green! Would definitely go back!
All of Betty's rentals are nice whether it's the Garden Oasis or the Garden Bungalow. Her descriptions and pictures are accurate and if you have any questions just contact her and you will get a quick response. We stayed over Thanksgiving week and everything was nice. This was our second time at her Alameda apt. Hope to stay next year!
Wonderful property, close to everything even the beach!
This property was a delight to stay at. Perfect location as it was close to restaurants, shops and even the beach. It was nice to have my own parking spot!
The checkin process was smooth, she even baked a tasty banana bread. There was a water filter as well which was a nice suprise. The apartment had every thing I needed during my stay.
I would stay here again. Thanks, Betty!
We selected this property for its convenience to family and were so glad we did. Everything was as expected based on the property description and prior reviews. We liked having a separate bedroom and a spacious living/work space. The garden was a lovely place to relax and read. The quiet neighborhood was also welcome for me as a light sleeper. We also took advantage almost every day of the close proximity to the walking path along the Bay.
Very roomy. The amenities were more than adequate, including banana bread and coffee for the first morning. I appreciated the little things, such as a heated throw for the bed and a flashlight near the front door. The property is very close to Crab Cove and restaurants at the end of Webster Street. I would have appreciated more security, such as a chain lock, for the front and back doors.
We loved all the thoughtful touches and the kitchen-- silverware, toaster, refrigerator. Great TV that didn't take a Phd to use. Wonderful neighborhood, close to coffee shops and store a few blocks away.
Only problem was a saggy bed. Betty is the best.

It was a pleasure to host your visit to family in the neighborhood. Thank you for telling me about the bed. That's the first I've heard about it "sagging". I will definitely look into that ! It's only 4 years old!!
This is an adorable apartment on a quiet dead end street. The yard is private and comfortable like another room of the apartment. The fresh flowers in vases in the apartment and the lemonade and banana bread were lovely touches. The owner is available but not overbearing. I highly recommend. If you want to do a lot of cooking, it may not be the place because it lacks a real kitchen. Nearby restaurants and deli were fabulous.
We have stayed in several places during our years of visiting family in Alameda. This was by far the best, most comfortable and most convenient. The bed was great, there was plenty of dresser and closet space, the bathroom was roomy. There was a grab bar in the tub/shower which worked perfectly for us old folks. There is no kitchen, but the refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and coffee pot was all we needed. The backyard was a beautiful place to sit and read a book. In and out was easy. Even parking was easy. And even WE could walk to several restaurants, markets and donut shops.

Betty is sweet, but too close for comfort.
Betty is very nice. She knew we were there to celebrate a birthday and she had a card and bouquet waiting. She also made some yummy banana bread for us! Her coffee bar was the best!! Unfortunately, she lives upstairs and you here every step. You also have no privacy outside. Betty was out on her deck and tending the yard, couldn’t go outside and just relax without being on display, made it awkward and couldn’t enjoy the space that was advertised. Felt like we had to tip toe around and worried about noise and every move being watched, not the relaxing, enjoyable stay we wanted- but good coffee bar.

“I thoroughly enjoy the garden and love sharing the space with my guests and attempt maintenance between guests, but that is not always the case. This is a shared outdoor space and I’m sorry you didn’t get to enjoy it as much as others have”.
This is a minimal but comfortable house. I stayed here for 3 nights. The bed is great, and the TV is actually easy to use! It is strange in having no kitchen sink but the bathroom sink has a tall faucet and Betty supplied a small bucket to carry dishes to the bathroom in. She also supplied paper bowls and plates so I didn't have that many dishes. There are lots of good restaurants right in the neighborhood. The garden has blueberry bushes filled with blueberries and gardenias that bloom. The only negative is that the bathroom rugs were not clean. Probably just a bath mat that gets washed would solve that problem. I recommend this place for an inexpensive comfortable place to stay not too far from Crab Cove and the beach on the bay in Alameda.

Thank You Janet, It sounds like the housekeeping needs more things on the check list. I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. There are many replacement rugs that are washed after every guest. Now, why this wasn't done for you is a mystery to me but hopefully it won't happen again.
The owner Betty was great, very responsive and provided great information regarding check-in. She baked us a banana bread and provided coffee and bottled water. The apartment is roomy with tons of potential. The bedding , towels and bathroom were clean. The apartment itself is in need of a complete facelift. The entire place needs painting. The area rugs are dirty and frayed. The doors, baseboards and moldings are scuffed and dirty. The furniture is a mishmash of antiques and very tired pieces. I have rented over fifty homes over the years and have not given a negative review until now. If Betty wasn’t so accommodating the rating would have been less.

Thank you for your kind words, I do my best to make guests feel welcome.
We are currently on a 4 month wait list for a paint refresh and trying to be patient. The large area rugs, Oriental and Persian, are of high quality, without wear and are professionally cleaned on a regular basis.
Thank you again for staying with us and for giving us a chance to explain and reevaluate how we best serve our guests.
Great location within a short walking distance of a grocery store, restaurants , shops and the waterfront! Quiet cul-de-sac with outdoor seating area for relaxing in back. Ground-level - no steps! Cozy bed, plenty of towels in the bathroom. A very nice overall stay. Would recommend it to others.
