Our stay at Sycamore Springs Hotel was excellent. Our host was very helpful. The hotel was comfortable, clean, and beautifully restored! And the outdoor activities available to us made it fun for all ages. Our family would do it again!

Thanks for staying and making memories at Sycamore Springs. We look forward to your return someday.!
We loved our stay! The pictures do not do the property justice! It is so beautiful! This place met our expectations and so much more! Nice, friendly family who runs this place. We plan to come back again next year. Perfect place to disconnect from the world and reconnect with those you love!
It was a great experience for us all plenty of activities for all ages!!! Was the perfect getaway for our large family highly recommend this place to everyone!
We had five families stay in the hotel and guesthouse. It was a wonderful time. The kids loved the skating rink! Also enjoyed the mini golf, splash pad, fishing pond and kayaking. It’s such a unique place and a hidden gem. Thanks for a fantastic family time.
We enjoyed the variety of activities on-site and the ease of getting back to the hotel as needed. The mangers were responsive and friendly— equipment for activities was easy to find and return!
This was perfect for our 3 generation family reunion! The outdoor space was lovely and we were glad there was a wood burning fire pit and a gas fire pit since we did get rain one day. The activities on property make this a great option to keep everyone from getting to much togetherness! The kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans large enough to accommodate our group of 18.
We had a great stay! The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. The location was beautiful and our group and fun at the rollerskating rink, mini golf, and fishing. Owners were friendly and super responsive. Can’t wait to go back!
20 family members had a great time celebrating our parents 50th anniversary in this hidden gem!
Comfortable beds, clean facilities and lots to do for all ages. The hosts are welcoming and kind, very responsive! We will be back!

Mike and his family left the property in immaculate condition!!
Our family group of 24 had a great time. There were tons of activities available. The house was clean and comfortable. The hosts were so kind and accommodating! We loved it.
Property was very clean. Kitchen well equipped. Host welcomed us, was very pleasant, and responded to our question quickly. Skating rink enjoyable activity for all. Enjoyed the spacious living area where we could all gather. Very quiet area.
We were thinking it would be great if the house had a rocking chair somewhere, because of the infants we had with us. Also protective plugs downstairs on the outlets for safety. Loved, loved our stay there! The host were wonderful people!
We stayed 3 nights in the hotel part for a family getaway with plenty of room to spread out. It was spotless! We enjoyed our meals together in the huge dining room. It was great to have so many activities like mini golf, roller skating, pickle ball and the splash pad. The museum was interesting as well. Kent and his family take excellent care and make sure everyone feels welcome. What a fantastic trip!!!
We had a wonderful time. No TV.......played games, kids roller skated. Sit by the fire telling stories. All our needs were met. We would rent this enchanting house again!
A group of 15 coworkers stayed here to have meetings and team building. We each had oir own bedroom and shared the bathrooms easily. Well equipped kitchen. Great dining space. We used Grimm Girls to cater breakfasts and lunches, Dar Stoller catered a dinner, amd we went to Sabetha to dine at Brick Street. All of it was excellent. Accommodations were clean, updated, comfortable. We 100% will return and 100% recommend. Great host and communication.
Our combined annual family gathering is no small event: 22 in all! We host them the first weekend of January each year and this place was magical! (It didn’t hurt that it snowed too!) Modern appliances, very cool history, and plenty of space for all. It was perfect! Thank you to our hosts for being available, excellent communicators, and just great to work with. Sycamore Springs is awesome, especially the skating rink! Long story short, it was great! (We want to come back in warmer months.)
Nice quiet area with many outside activities for children. Clean and well equipped. Interesting historical building. When considering this property there are stairs in several areas, not equipped for handicapped due to age of original facility. We rented both buildings, connected by a covered walkway. Guests included small children to grandparents. It was a wonderful time.
We had a wonderful time at Sycamore Springs! We were a large family group with a 92 year old grandfather, grade school kids, teens, tweens and young adults.... all the way down to a 3 year old great grandchild. We all had fun things to do. The kids did the roller skating, petting zoo playgound, splash pad. While the teens and adults did the putt putt golf, pickle ball courts, horse shoes and fishing. one of our teens caught a 26 pound catfish. There was lots of room for our large family. The kitchen was well stocked with quality equipment. At night we sat outside on the big patio and roasted marshmallows. We did some rock painting and placed a few along the trail for others to find. We also did some family games of wiffle ball and kick ball in the nice field behind the hotel. The owners were great to work with. We would love to come again.
Our family came from Florida, Kansas--Salina, Wichita, and Andale, and Lee's Summit, Missouri to celebrate an early Thanksgiving and Christmas together. We loved the 10 bedrooms, large kitchen, dining room, living room. Everything was immaculate, the design was very well thought out, and many special touches. It fit our family so well! Lots of room for our grandchildren - infants, toddlers, school age up to 16, as well as my husband and I, and four of our children and their spouses. They loved playing outside on the playground, hiking, and roller skating. The armoire filled with games, toys, and crafts was just amazing as well. We had absolutely everything we needed. Even two large refrigerators to accommodate food for a large group. Thank you so much for sharing this special historical place with us. We will be back!
We were a family of 25 and it worked very well for us. Plenty of room for us all to gather in the living room. Bedrooms were comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped for us to prepare our own food. We would definitely recommend.
Super spacious house with all the amenities as listed on the website!! My team loved the 2 night stay. We had a great work event plus great team building. I would highly recommend this place!!!
Wow! This property is amazing. So clean, they thought of everything, it’s beautiful, can’t say enough good things. One of the best vacation rentals we have ever booked. We will be back.

About the host
Hosted by Kent
We are farmers! We raise corn and soybeans along with Pheasants, Quail, Chukar Partridge, Hungarian Partridge and whitetail deer. Along with this we own and run Sycamore Springs resort.
Why they chose this property
Indian folklore dating from early 1800's and earlier, relate many interesting facts of early Sycamore Springs history. Many Indian Tribes were known to use the mineral water for healing purposes. Early Indians used airtight wigwarms and mineral water poured over hot rocks for sweat baths.
By the early 1800's many settlers were moving westward and one of their important water stops was Sycamore Springs. John Brown and James Lane, early Kansas Free Staters, spent time in the area. The Springs known then as Plymouth Springs was one of several towns organized by Lane. A fort, built by James Lane, was located nearby.
By 1880, the mineral water and beautiful picnic areas were becoming well known and a large 60-room wood framed hotel building was built. Sycamore Springs, by 1886, had become widely known as an outstanding health resort of the Midwest. A five story stone hotel was also built which contained all the latest conveniences and modern hospital facilities. Both buildings were destroyed by fire in 1916. The present hotel was rebuilt using the stone walls left from the fire in the early 1920's.
Besides the hotel and hospital facilities, Sycamore Springs once had a post office, general store, barber shop and pop bottling plant.
We sell a history book, ask about it when you come down.
