The cabin has been remodeled completely keeping the character of the original home. 2000 sq ft of porches encapsulate the home with many areas to escape to read a book, watch nature, listen to the river or take a nap. There is a Chef's Kitchen with an open family room waiting to make many memories. Just off of the enclosed screen porch awaits a Green Egg and Grill to make your mountain favorites. The cabin has 2 King Bedrooms w/ensuite full baths, 1 Queen Bedroom w/ensuite full bath, 1 bunk room w/twin over full and 1 bunk room with twin over twin. All bedrooms have doors opening to the expansive porches overlooking the river and nature. There is a "Kids Cave" perfect for watching movies and playing games. The large media/game room is located on the ground level with expansive views of the Toccoa River and the outdoor patio with firepit leading to the river where you can rest on the large mountain rocks. The cabin is great for families, couple's retreats, girl's weekends and outdoor enthusiasts.

Our family began visiting BR and The Toccoa river in 2014 when a friend invited us to stay with her parents who own the last cabin on The Toccoa before it reaches Lake Blue Ridge. We amazed that only 90 miles from Atlanta and we felt like we were in Colorado. It was magical with the trees and the winding road leading the cabin. I was in love with the town of BR and the fellow owners on Trout Lane. During that wknd getaway, I was determined to find a property on this stretch of the river which is surrounded by national forest. The challenge was there was only 10 lots and the homes had been passed down for generations to family members. After several trips over a few years, the opportunity came in 2016 when a family decided to sell their cabin as it need a lot of TLC & renovations. I will never forget driving to BR meeting the family with my husband and son. We were so blessed that they thought of us and allowed us to buy directly from them. Immediately after the closing, we went back to the cabin and began pulling up the carpet in the bedrooms and cutting down the many overgrown bushes and trees that covered the home. Over the next 24 months, we underwent a major renovation taking the cabin to the studs to replace plumbing and electric as the original cabin (back of home) was built in the 1960s with an addition completed in the 1980s. We made the decision on every piece of wood, stain, stone, door handles, shelves, furniture and blankets. Our son was only 4 and was there with us every step of the way working on the home and deciding on every detail. We have so many memories in the walls of our home on The Toccoa & have spent every Thanksgiving and NYE in our home since the year we purchased the property. Our family will always cherish the memories we have created with the special friends and neighbors on Trout Lane. With some families we have entertained they have also fallen in love with BR and have also purchased homes in the mountains.

Why they chose this property

This property has so much history from the original cabin being established in the early sixties. There was a childrens summer camp located on the original land and in the 60s, the owner decided to not continue the camp. He divided the land and began to sell lots. After the 10th lot was sold, the Federal Government contacted the owner and offered to purchase the remaining acreage as it was needed for the TVA (Tennesse Valley Assocation). Therefore, our cabin with 10 others is nestled within hundreds of acreages that have been converted into national forest surrounding Lake Blue Ridge and the Toccoa River. The cabin has been completed renovated and updated with many of the original cabin features being kept. You will enjoy life on The Toccoa as the kids did back in the early 1900s through the 60s. Uninterrupted family time with lots of fun fishing, swimming and floating down The Toccoa River.
