Thank you very much for your nice review of you visit to The Great Escape. We got the Spa back in operation on the 2nd of Nov, as soon as we got the part needed. I look forward to hearing from o again soon for your next visit to The Great Escape.
Cabin was as described. Has everything you would need and very clean. The secluded location gives great views of the mountains and access to multiple things to do. Being able to park in a garage is a huge plus when trying to pack up for home when it’s 17 degrees and 30-40mph winds!! Howard was very quick to respond and made sure everything was as expected. We plan on returning, but when it’s warmer!!
The view is amazing and the home is perfection! Highly recommend!!

The property was exactly as pictured and described. The cabin was clean and comfy. An amazing big kitchen, and even more cookware and appliances than we could use! Thank you Brenda for your beautiful review of your visit to The Great Escape. I hope you will save my contact info and come back again soon. I appreciate how well you took care of the cabin, and my Cleaning Lady appreciates the gratuity.
Yes, it really does look like it does in the pictures. What an incredible location for this great place to stay. My wife and I stayed for a short break. 4-wheel drive is recommended for the 'adventurous' drive up to the house, but once you are at the top of the mountain, the views are unparalleled. We want to go again!
What a wonderful stay at a peaceful and beautiful location! The cabin was perfect and our host couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. The perfect great escape to the mountains!

Thank you Karen and Stan for finding and choosing The Great Escape for your visit to The High Country. I appreciate your very nice review. It is never too early to reserve your next visit. I look forward to hearing from you again soon.
This was our first visit to this area. We chose this house for the amazing views, and it did not disappoint! There was a 1.6 mile gravel road to the house, it was a little bumpy, but not steep. Very quiet and secluded location, once off the gravel road it was only a few minutes to town. The porch was a really nice feature, the house was clean and well stocked.

Why they chose this property
I was looking to build an all wooden cabin with modern conveniences in a location that provided the best long range mountain views The Smokey Mountains had to offer, yet close to places to go for dining and activities. Southern Ashe County, 20 minutes from Boone, and close to West Jefferson, was the ideal place.
