Cozy waterfront Chalet nestled in Big Thicket, 17 miles from Livingston, Texas, just outside Ace, TX, 56 miles north of Houston Intercontinental Airport.
This quiet, charming Chalet on a private cove will beckon you back, again and again!
Enjoy the slow pace, peacefulness and sheer beauty of nature all around you on this quiet fishing lake!

Grab a beverage, a good book or fishing pole and come relax on the floating deck! Have breakfast, lunch or dinner there! Gentle movement on water is guaranteed to wipe your stress away! Sitting in the comfy Adirondack chairs underneath the deck's tin roof, enjoy sunlight dancing on water, or bask in the sun on the foredeck, letting all your cares drift away, or just take a little snooze if you wish!

Accommodations: 1 cozy loft bedroom with queen size bed, 1 downstairs bedroom with full- size bed, air-conditioned, woodburning fireplace, electric fireplaces, Internet(high-speed DSL), ROKU TV, Blu-ray player, Cassette player, movie library, small reading library including children’s books, games, large yard, grill, Chiminea.

Area is great for bird and nature watching, biking, running, or just strolling in the country!

Pets:
Your house-trained dogs are welcome with a Pet Fee of $100 for a maximum of 2 canines.
Poop bags are furnished for picking up after your pet.
Leashes are required outside the fenced property.

ALL NEW APPLIANCES: Electric Stove with Air-Fryer/Convection Oven, Refrigerator, Dishwasher and
NEW and lovely, very comfortable, leather loveseat.
NEW Gel Cooled mattress in the downstairs bedroom.
ROKU TV.

NO SWIMMING ALLOWED: This is a stocked fishing lake. We do not permit swimming. One reason is due to the close proximity of the Trinity River. An occasional Alligator has been known to visit and make it their home.

NO BOATS CAN BE BROUGHT IN.
Outside boats are not permitted on our lake. In the past, they were allowed. However, we incurred over $100,000 in fees to clean out what outside boats brought in. We had to kill all plant life, wait a year and are still working on replacing proper plant life in the lake.

Unfortunately, our boat sank in the boat slip due to being vandalized. Sadly, it is no longer available.

SECURITY CAMERAS: This property is monitored by live video security cameras 24/7. They are there for the security of the property as well as for guest’s security. Guests are welcome to unplug the cameras while on the premises. They just need to be sure to plug them back in prior to departing. Thank you in advance for your compliance!

Upon departure, place ONLY sheets/dry towels/cloths in pillow cases, NOT Bed spreads, comforter or shams! Hang wet towels/cloths on hooks in bathroom.

We loved the location of the property. The view and privacy were very nice. The outdoor seating was cute and eclectic, and we enjoyed the patio lighting. The property was very clean and cared for. All appliances worked well, and the manager was extremely attentive to insuring we had everything we needed.

I looked at several options and feel so fortunate that I chose this special home. Patricia, our host, made the stay feel especially welcoming with the heaters on, fragrant candles burning and pup treats for the furbaby. She filled the bird feeders so the birds, brilliant cardinals, goldfinch, yellow rump warblers were abundant the entire stay. A few feet from the front door. Patrica is super easy to communicate with also. The location couldn’t have been more scenic and soul refreshing. The “Chalet” felt like a resort but so homey. Well stocked kitchen with modern appliances, wood ready for the fireplace. Waking up in the loft looking out the at the beautiful sunrise and feeling like I slept at the top of the oak tree. Large fenced yard for the dog. Catch (and release for me) big catfish! Great Egrets, Blue Heron, gator in the distance.I plan on returning for a sister trip.

Pretty, cozy little cabin tucked in on the lake, perfect for a couples get-a-way. Loved sitting on the porch or floating dock and watching the sun come up with a slight fog on the water. Lots of birds and squirrels to keep a person entertained. Even had the pleasure of watching a young alligator trolling across the water. Would certainly recommend.

Great Secluded Lake Front

Beautiful lake front chalet. Great views of the lake. Very quiet and relaxing. We sat outside on the dock and enjoyed our music and food every night. Would definitely come back again.

Cozy Chateau getaway

It was a girls get away. We really enjoyed the very cute cabin, it's location on George Taylor Lake had several optional shaded seating areas to view the beautiful lake.

Peaceful Getaway

This property is just as pictured. It is a cozy, lovely little place with views of the water as your constant companion. It is very quiet and truly “away from it all”. We loved having coffee on the front porch and watching the birds in the morning and having cocktails in the evening by the water with a fire in the chiminea.

Perfect Getaway!

Only an hour drive from The Woodlands , Tx with vey little traffic! Such a peaceful, relaxing little lake. The nature and wild life made it a perfect escape from the city! The use of the little boat was such a special bonus to the rental! We hope to visit again soon!

My late husband and I fell in love with the area while visiting friends who owned weekend houses there and, in 1980, we had the shell of the house built. With the help of wonderful friends, we worked weekends building out the interior. The project took about a year to complete and I have so many great memories of those times. The chalet became our escape from the hectic weekly pace in Houston. We put heart and soul into building out the chalet! When my husband passed away in 1993, the only way I could rationalize keeping the property was to rent it out to vacationers. I've had the good fortune of meeting so many wonderful people who have rented from me since that time and look forward to being blessed with many more!

What makes this property unique

Serenity Now!!!! ;) Feel your stress melt away immediately just driving down the winding road to the property. Taking in nature all around you is icing on the cake while cooking in the delightful little kitchen with its great view of the lake, or fishing, lounging around, reading, playing games, sitting in the swing, observing nature, taking a stroll, completely relaxing in the quiet beauty of the atmosphere of Taylor Lake! When I arrive, I never want to leave!
