Step back in time to the 1890s while you stay at this charming, historical Victorian home. You’ll experience elegant architecture and design, while enjoying the modern conveniences of a freshly renovated home that is conveniently, and delightfully, located in the Paso Robles wine country region.
For those interested in larger gatherings (6-9 people, depending how close you want to be!) there is a second Airbnb on the same lot which has a separate entrance and driveway and is immediately adjacent to this house. It is available to rent for an additional fee. See "Littlefield Bungalow Suite" or simply message host for more information. The backyard is divided so each house has privacy but also provides convenient access for larger groups.
ABOUT THE SPACE This classic 1890’s Victorian home offers two bedrooms with queen sized beds, each with a private bath. There is also a futon sofa in the living room for one adult or two small children, making the home an ideal place for a couples retreat or for families to reconnect. Each bathroom has a bathtub for you to relax and unwind in after a day touring picturesque landscape, historical parks, and world renowned wineries located nearby. There is also a range of board and patio games available for those looking for a more “staycation”, relax-at-home experience.
The home includes central air conditioning, free Wifi and a television in the living room. There is a full kitchen with refrigerator, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and basic cooking and dining equipment such as pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Genuine antiques and period piece furniture includes a prohibition-era “hide-a-bar” (a cabinet that converts from an innocuous dish cabinet into a chic cocktail station). The charming fireplace is original but only decorative.
Please note that this is a true historical home. Closet space is limited. However, both bedrooms have a rolling clothing rack that offers extra storage space.
LUSH GARDEN This residence includes a large, lush garden area with several seating areas where one can enjoy a morning cup of coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. For those who wish to entertain, there is a comfortable patio with an outdoor dining table for eight. There is also a gaming area with a bean bag toss game, and a secluded area with a park bench for those who would like to curl up with a good book.
Ample street parking is available at the front of the house.
PETS WELCOME We love pets! Bring your fur family members! Please be mindful that all dogs must be on a leash when they are outside the home, including the patio area. The yard dividers have spaces that dogs can easily scurry under, and all animals (dogs especially) must be monitored and must stay in the designated yard. There is a lovely city park just across the street with a large green space and shaded picnic areas. And please, clean up after all pets, and then dispose of waste in a proper receptacle.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD The Littlefield Victorian is located in a peaceful, small-town neighborhood with roosters, goats and many birds making there homes here. You may hear music from the local park, which is across the street, as it does host events at times. The park also has a public swimming pool. Please verify that it is open and the hours before planning to use it.
California’s second oldest bar, the Elkhorn, is a two block walk. In 1869 and 1870, the notorious outlaw Jesse James, and his brother Frank, frequented this bar while Jesse recovered from a gunshot wound at the nearby Drury James ranch, which was owned by a family member. Also within walking distance is the historic San Miguel Mission, founded in 1797.
There are some really great eating places that are a short walk away including Taco Mafia, Manny’s Pizza and Leo’s Cafe. There is also a Dollar General store for any last minute items you may need.
The residence is located a just off the 101 freeway. It is a short 10 minute drive to downtown Paso Robles. Multiple wine tour roads to many world-class wineries begin a short distance away. Cambria, the gateway to Hearst Castle, can be reached in under 35 minutes (depending on traffic and time of day.)

The house was very quaint and relaxing. The location was in a quiet neighborhood not too far from the historic downtown section. Also, close to Paso, San Luis Obispo and a few other cities we went to visit. Perfect place to use a a base location while taking day trips.
The house was very comfortable for two couples, since each bedroom has an attached bath.
The mission, small grocery stores, restaurants, and the Elkhorn bar all within walking distance.
The house was spotless and the outside area was beautiful and inviting. We had our morning coffee under the trees and were entertained by the hummingbirds.
The house is great with two bedrooms each with their own bathroom. However the back yard is the place to be with such a beautiful garden and birds all over the place. Easy to walk to downtown with a limited selection of restaurants and a nice park across the street.
We loved our stay, we made it work for our infant and our preschooler enjoyed a big girl bed to herself. The property was as described, just a lot of long black hair around when we arrived (floors and shower). Otherwise very clean and as described. The host was also very accommodating giving us a late check out so that our infant could have a final nap before leaving. I would stay here again!
We stayed in San Miguel for its central location for visiting four of the original California missions. The property was perfectly located and exactly as pictured. The house was beautiful inside and out. The inclement weather prevented us from enjoying the gardens and seating area which were both lovely. We would like to come back another time when we could enjoy the outdoors as much as we enjoyed the indoors.
I recently stayed here with a group of us and our dogs. We had a great time! The house was as described and even better. The outdoor space was an added bonus. It's also pretty conveniently located near hot spots like Paso, Cambria, Morro Bay and more. Highly recommend.
Even in the 115º heat wave, the place stayed cool.
One heads up, which is nothing to fault the host, but we stayed here on the 4th of July weekend and there were fireworks set off outside the house by the neighbors until 2am. Just something to keep in mind on that holiday specifically.
Overall a great place. Loved the decor and warmth felt in the house. However!!! Trying to access the property from the street was dangerous!!! There is no railing up the so called stairs to the gate. Rather than trying going down or up this way, we walked through weeds on so called grass until we felt safe to access street. This could potentially be a lawsuit in the making
The inside was as describe & cute, although the outside needed a little cleaning & updating. The cushion patio chairs outside is worn with cobwebs. Contacted the property manager regarding the corn hole board we couldn't find. She did not respond. Wish the area was more in detailed. At first we thought we were in the wrong neighborhood.

Thank you for your feedback and for staying with us! I'm glad to hear you found the inside of the property cute and as described. I apologize for the outdoor areas not being up to standard and appreciate your note about the patio furniture and cleanliness—we’ll be addressing that right away.
Regarding the corn hole boards, I did not receive a message about them, but I do remember our prior communications and did my best to respond to each one. I'm sorry if I missed anything. We'll also work on providing more detailed information about the neighborhood for future guests.
Thank you again for sharing your experience. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back
This property is a cute Victorian house located close to Paso Robles and very easy to access. The property manager was very attentive and answered the phone/text immediately when contacted. We enjoy cooking when on vacation and we were happy with the kitchen. There was enough of a variety of pots and pans and supplies to cook with. The only issue would be the microwave door hinge needs to be fixed. The beds were comfortable, shower water pressure was good, water gets hot right away, and there were games in a cabinet. The outside courtyard is cute and well manicured. We didn’t sit outside because it was too cold, but it would be perfect for a nice spring day, or summer evening. The courtyard has ample lighting. The cushions on the patio furniture are very worn and looks like they need replacing. The rental was perfect for our 3 night stay and the price was on point.

Out of the way stay
San Miguel is a tiny little town, but it's just up the road from Paso and much less expensive.
The Victorian is cute but the landscaping is not well maintained so the house is obscured by a big tree (not like in the photo), the lawn is dry and brown, and the porches and patios are covered in debris.
There is an ADU in the back with someone living in it. A guy would just appear in the yard at odd hours.
The interior is furnished with period pieces, the kitchen is modern but lacking quality provisions. We upgraded the coffee, left nice vinegar and local olive oil, and bought drinking water and paper towels. The bath products could be upgraded and the shower heads need to be demineralized so the water flows freely.
There is a lack of attention to detail, generally. If these things were remedied, this would be a nice alternative to staying in Paso proper.

Thank you for your detailed feedback. I’m glad you found the Victorian charming and enjoyed its proximity to Paso Robles. I apologize for any inconvenience caused by the landscaping and the ADU situation. The listing does mention the ADU in the back, but I understand how seeing someone in the yard unexpectedly could be unsettling, and we’ll remind our guests to respect the space.
We provide basic kitchen essentials like coffee, salt, pepper, paper towels, and toilet paper, but I appreciate your suggestion to upgrade provisions, and I’ll look into improving that. As for the bath products and shower heads, we will address these maintenance issues right away. We also take your landscaping feedback seriously and will ensure the yard is better maintained moving forward.
Thank you again for your constructive comments, and we hope to make these improvements for future guests!
