We had a wonderful time at the guest house and our host was communicative and accomodating. Would recommend this location to any family traveling to Seoul.
Enjoyed our stay at this beautiful and well appointed Hanok. KJ is an excellent host! Very responsive and helpful. He met us at the hanok and got us situated and gave us wonderful recommendations on where to eat and what to do. Very quiet area. We slept well on the comfy bed. Lots of restaurants and stores and two major palaces within easy walking distance. Anguk subway station is about 5 minutes away and easy to get to. Hanok has all the essentials you need for an enjoyable stay. Would love to return!
Check in was easy, KJ was incredibly responsive, kind and helpful, location was great, space was cute. The listing for the property indicates that it has 2.5 bathrooms. This is not factual. There is one half bath off one bedroom and a very tiny bathroom with a bidet and shower combined, with the sink in the hallway between the kitchen and 2nd bedroom. Luckily one of our daughters stayed in her dorm at Yonsei. I’m not sure this would work for non-family groups.
I can hardly name all the qualities that makes this home a perfect vacation stay in Seoul - KJ the host is perhaps the most helpful human I've met. He went far out of his way to help us retrieve an item that was left back in the US. Other than KJ, the apartment boasts five-star views, very modern amenities, and an unbeatable location (walking distances to Changdeokgung and Gyeongbokgung and countless cafes and restaurants). We will be back!

Dear Paige,
Thank you so much for your kind review here. I always feel so flattered and relieved whenever I receive sweet words from my guests like how you did. You and your family were also as nice if not better. All the best back at home and we hope to host you again!
Many thanks,
KJ
We stayed here during one of the hottest weeks of the summer in Seoul and it was a beautiful, air conditioned oasis that we spent more time in than we thought we would. The house is so well designed to maximize the spaces. It has everything you need and is aesthetically beautiful to boot. The host speaks wonderful English and is incredibly thoughtful. He met us at the street to show us how to get in and to explain all the features of the house. This is not the typical Hanok. It's an art space. Beds are extremely comfy and everything is luxe. Our family of four loved it.

Thank you very much for your generous & kind review! We are grateful to hear that your stay went this well. I was really considering whether I should invest $$$ for beddings but many reviews like yours made my decision so proud! Thank you sooooo much!
The hanok is ideally located in Bukchon, low rise and away from the hustle and bustle of downtown areas yet close to Anguk metro to get you to wherever you want to be very easily. Nice cafes and restaurants in the area and south to ikseon-dong.
KJ was extremely helpful throughout booking and the stay, even bringing us umbrellas when the typhoon was approaching! His English was immaculate which made it very easy for foreign travellers.
It didn’t bother us, but as a converted hanok layout and space can necessarily not be made ideal (bathroom size/storage…etc.), and cooking facilities/crockery are more sparse than you may expect, but why cook when you are on holiday when restaurants and street food are so delicious and well priced!

Hi Anthony,
Thank you for staying with us! And also thank you for writing a sweet note about the house and me. We always work hard to provide a genuine experience to all guests at our best possible effort. Although there seemed that we could not fully satisfy you this time, we still hope you and your family had a good time generally in Seoul and at our Hanok.
Best wishes,
KJ
Our host, KJ, reached out at several points and met us at the property to ensure we had all of our questions answered and needs met. The property offered us a comfortable place to stay within walking distance of Gyeonbokgung, Changdeokgung and Changgyeonggung palaces, and was convenient to a great variety of cute cafes, bakeries, restaurants and shops. We tried a couple of KJ's restaurant recommendations and found them to be outstanding. The house is close to Anguk station on line 3, which is convenient to many of Seoul's attractions. We appreciated having a washer/dryer in the house. The bathrooms do take getting used to (very small and somewhat oddly laid out), and the bedrooms have glass doors, which I think many Americans will find surprising. The kitchen is nicely outfitted with a kettle, coffee pods, tea, and nice refrigerator. The bedding was to die for - I haven't slept so well in years!

Wow, thank you so so much for your kind and detailed review! It was really a good point for me to look back what and how I’ve done my job as a host. I will also take note about things to improve or change!
I recently stayed here with my wife and a friend. We had a small issue where there was a date conflict on another booking site for the hanok, so our stay was shortened and we got a refund.
Although it would be easy to complain about that.... the place was really nice and we had a great time.
Location: right in Bukchon Hanok Village. Lots of cute cafes and stores, and a great place to walk around. There's a mart close by if you need random goods. The downside is that it's a little further from a metro (maybe 10 minutes walk).
Check in: aside from being a little hard to find the first time, check-in was very smooth. The door has a code so you can just show up at your leisure and get settled.
Place itself: it's hard to have a nice balance between the historic style of a hanok and modern comforts we expect, and I think this place had a wonderful balance. Room ACs keep things comfortable in the summer. The decoration is very tasteful and beautiful. A very "instagramable" backdrop, if that's what you are in to.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are a bit small by western standards, but if you don't want a traditional floorplan, don't stay in a hanok.
Amenities: not many Korean homes have a dishwasher or a clothes drier: this place has both! very convenient when you're travelling. Also, while a "foot spa" might sound a little silly, after walking around Seoul for many hours, it is amazing!
I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants to be in Bukchon, and would be happy to come back again in the future!
