About this property
Waterfront, close to Caddo State Park, walk to Shady Glade, vast deck, remodeled
This is the best place to escape into another world and still be in Texas! Our newly remodeled lakefront home has the most breathtaking views. Truly a photographer and birdwatcher's dream come true! After spending the day exploring what Caddo has to offer, have a relaxing evening around the fire pit by the water, or stargaze on the vast two-platform deck we just built! The biggest attractions on this lake are boating, fishing, and wildlife viewing, so don't forget your binoculars. Just down the street, you will find guide companies and a variety of tours with themes varying from science and birding to the gators! The famous Shady Glade Cafe, specializing in breakfast and lunch, is an easy walk from the home. You can book a trip with several different tour and fishing guide companies at the boat ramp. If you are looking to venture out on your own, you can head right up the road to Johnson's Ranch to rent a canoe, kayak, or even a boat to explore the tranquil waters! If you need more information, please refer to our Welcome Book that has all the information you need for any adventure. Caddo State Park provides its own kayak and canoe rentals with 50 miles of paddling trails in addition to the Caddo Forest Trail, historic cabins, and guided nature programs. There are miles of nature trails throughout the park. Less than 20 miles away, the neighboring town of Jefferson boasts multiple antique stores, quaint boutiques, and great places to eat. My favorite thing to do is go to the Port Jefferson Nature Preserve they have amazing abstract forest art throughout the boardwalk trail. Other attractions are the historical homes and Excelsior House Hotel, where you can book a walking tour, a carriage ride, and a ride on the antique train on the Jefferson Railway Express Train. You will also get to find all of your Bigfoot memorabilia here! Our hope is that you find this place as majestic as we do and share your experience with your family and friends! Once you come to Caddo Lake, you will be back! There is something mysterious about this place that is unlike anything in this world!

The house was lovely and very well stocked - we had everything we needed for a great stay. The view from the back deck was awesome and we spent a lot of time there.Very close to Shady Glad where we met our fishing guide.
Well done, all around! We had a terrific stay. Feeling very grateful for all the thought, care, and outfitting that went into the home.Location is also perfect. Thanks Sarah!!!

We had a blast and couldn’t have asked for a better host. She was very awesome and even let us check in early. Communication was great. Cleanliness of the property was great. 10/10 recommend!
This house was beautiful & beautifully decorated. The view of the lake was so relaxing, absolutely gorgeous. Much appreciated all the cooking utensils & pans/pots needed in a kitchen, made cooking a breeze! We loved using the kayaks to paddle out & explore. I would definatly come back again.

Thank you Anne for the amazing review! We are so glad you felt comfortable in our home and would like to come back. We look forward to your return!
We had such a wonderful time with our kids and grandkids. It was a great place for us all to be together. The kitchen was well-stocked. We loved going out on the canoe! Plenty of space to play games and hang out inside and outside! The house was very clean, too. It was an easy check-in/check-out experience!! We look forward to returning again!!
We have been coming to Caddo Lake every October for 18 years. We booked this home because our usual home is no longer a rental. This is our new favorite home! The kitchen is the best stocked with lots of lil extras. The lake view is perfect . We will be back next October.
The house was even better in person than the photographs online. Six family members stayed and there was plenty of room for all. I especially liked how all the cabinets and drawers had labels so there was no fumbling around looking for things. Beautifully decorated and host provided many extras not usually found in vacation rentals. Location was perfect as everything we wanted to do was within 2 miles. We had a wonderful time and this house sets a new standard for vacation rentals.

We were hoping to see some fall colors, but alas we were too early. But the good news is that we will be back! We absolutely loved loved loved staying here. Everything is 5⭐️. The kitchen is fully stocked, everything is labeled, the deck is fantastic, the view is spectacular. This is a gorgeous home. Thank you for sharing with us,
Very nice and clean home with lots of space. There’s no washer or dryer, so if you plan on more than a weekend trip, take extra clothes. Great deck but no space on the water. It has a boat dock, but no space for lounging or fishing on the water. Be nice if they expanded the boat dock for those of us without the boat. Overall, great space to enjoy, but expect quite a bit of boat noise as the channel runs right by the shore. Love the house!!
This is a beautiful home. Very well kept. Only complaint was not enough parking for 4 trucks with boat trailers, and both boat stalls were filled with boats. Had to park 3 trucks at shady glade. Had to tie up our boats on outside of boat house where they all got drenched in the storm, and had to be bailed out before going fishing. Other than that, the home and amenities are wonderful. Thanks! JC
Property is absolutely perfect. Exactly as described. However, please note that the washer/dryer are not for guest to use because of being on a septic system. But who wants to do laundry on vacation? The large lawn was perfect for my grandsons to play wiffle ball. They played at the water's edge trying to catch critters. My mom (89 yrs old) loved being able to sit in the house and have a view of everything...tons of glass across back of house. I have no negative comments at all. So happy they are willing to share their Caddo home.
