Enjoy the wrap around porches on 2 levels, and your own private dock for swimming, fishing, and boating, water skiing, during the summer, and sledding, skiing, and ice skating during the winter months! Rocking chairs provided for your enjoyment :-) We love families and look forward to hosting you on your vacation!

Beautiful Lake Trip

Great house and amazingly convenient access if you have or are renting a boat. It was a very relaxing and entertaining trip and the home added to the experience.

Just like to say thank you to Wendi and Lou for opening up their home to us. If you want peace, relaxation, you can’t find a better place. House is fully stocked and they have provided kayaks, paddle board for your outdoor activities. If you are looking for a quiet place to get away, you can’t go wrong

We enjoyed our stay at Watauga Lake House was. The house was very clean, specious and well stocked with all the necessary amenities.Being situated on a lakefront was great but what made it even better was being provided with four kayaks and a large dock to launch from..There is not a lot of dining or shopping options being in a remote area but if peace, tranquility and quality family time you are looking for, I highly recommend the Watauga Lake House.The owner, Wendi, was very attentive and had good communication before and during our stay.

Lake Fun

We rented the the house for the second year in a row and enjoyed every day. Perfect for docking your boat and swimming in the private bay. We boated, paddle boarded, hiked, and enjoyed grilling on the deck and hanging out on the dock.

Amazing Weekend Getaway

Our experience was perfect! The cabin was so beautiful and clean and had something for everyone in our family to enjoy. Wendi is the kindest property owner and her communication is excellent. We are already discussing plans to return this summer!

Awesome !

Beautiful cabin on the lake. The cabin was on on the lake with a nice dock for the boat and swimming. Also enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board which was provided. Wendi the owner was great and was available for our needs and questions. Enjoyed the stay!

We had a wonderful time enjoying the beauty of the mountains and lake! We were close enough to Beech Mountain to get skiing in as well! The cabin had everything we needed complete with a floor for the teenage boys to play pool & watch TV. The hosts thought of everything we needed!! Beautiful place!

Away from it all

We had a wonderful peaceful time at this get away from it all property! Wendi was great and it would laid out very nice with amazing views. Loved the getting away aspect and just being in nature. Supplies in kitchen were great and having the ability to hear nothing but nature noises was great. This is a great house and beds were very comfortable!

Great lake escape!

This house was just as described in the listing. It is a lovely home with thoughtful features throughout. The waterfront access was great for enjoying the lake. The property manager was easy to reach when we had a question. We look forward to returning soon!

On the Lake.

We were so impressed with this property. The version online doesn't do it justice. The amenities had us spoiled - they were more varied than what we have at home. Definitely recommend this property.

Hallmark Moments

We stayed during Christmas week. We felt as if we were part of a Hallmark movie. It could not have been more comforting, cozy and relaxing. Wendi our host was the nicest kindest host we have ever experienced. The house was exactly as described and communication’s were so easy. We would stay here again if coming through the area.

Wonderful home and owner

We booked this home for a ski trip to Beech Mountain. We had 2 adults and group of teens ranging from 13-17. We all had more than enough room. The basement was Amazing for teen boys complete with a pool table. The drive to Beech Mtn was about an hour on windy roads but totally worth it! The owner Wendi went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Even though it was a winter rental we even got to kayak a bit. We would for sure rent this home again!

Kayaking the day away

We had a wonderful stay at the Lake House. Everything you could possibly need was provided. Plenty for kids and adults to do. The kayaks were amazing! Our last evening we paddled and saw a beautiful view of the sun setting. Having three teenagers (13-15) sit still for several minutes and just be in awe of the view in front of them was priceless! Wendi communicated very quickly when I had questions. We would definitely recommend!!

Family Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at this home. We wanted to be able to enjoy the lake for Labor Day weekend and we celebrated birthdays while we were there. The owners welcomed me with a decorated, birthday theme. They went the extra mile to make sure our weekend was enjoyable. The boat/lake access was nice and easy to get to. They furnished floats/kayaks which was nice so that we did not have to bring our own. Chairs were provided at the dock. The view was great. We would stay here again.

One of the best cabins on Watauga Lake!

Our family had an amazing vacation on Watauga Lake! This cabin is beautiful, spacious, clean and provides more than what is listed! The owners thought of everything to make it feel like home and the dock and fun rafts/kayaks provided we’re awesome. My teenagers loved the home and having their own space. The owner was available and very communicative throughout our stay. She even quickly helped us find a walk-in medical clinic. We can not wait to return!! Thank you for everything!

Sister trip

We had a blast! Five sisters celebrate one sisters birthday on this beautiful lake!!! Not to mention this wonderful home , had everything. Had decorations up what a suprize? Who does this? Very clean spacious and what a view! Going back!!!!

I could not recommend this place enough. Over the years I have rented many cabins but never one so well equipped with such a wonderful host that was genuinely concerned that we had everything we needed and were having a lovely time. Thank you Wendi, it was really appreciated. The location was fantastic we had a blast with the canoes and all the other staff that Wendi provided. The cabin was immaculate( and I am a very fussy person) beautifully decorated and WHAT A VIEW! All in all a perfect stay, will definitely be back if Wendi will have us.

Wonderful Watauga Lake Getaway!

We have stayed at many VRBO properties, but this is by far one of the best. Location on a bay with beautiful views, private dock at the property and fully stocked house- these are just the start of what made our stay so nice. The house actually has even more than listed (kayaks, floaties, dog crate, pool table). And the owners were just as great; Left us a yummy blueberry pie (devoured by husband and dad) and easily accessible for our questions. This home is top of our list for our next Watauga Lake vacay. (Not a negative- but just something to be aware of; the driveway is steep and the road to the house is one car width. Again not a negative, as it's typical for the area- just a heads up when coming in.)
