What a great little beach villa in a nice international community. It was a perfect place to relax after 12 days of travel. Food at the local restaurants (in walking distance) was excellent. There isn’t much to do on the island other than be a beach bum, lay by the pool, snorkel or scuba. It was 2 well needed days away from the hustle and bustle of big cities. The host was quick to respond to all messages.

Wonderful beach access great for 2 people

The property is a great location, with easy close access to a wonderful beach. Maritza was wonderful, helpful and a great source of information. As other reviewers have noted, the twin beds and sofa couch are useless, so truthfully it just sleeps 2 people together in one bed. The house is otherwise well equipped.

The Villa was the perfect size for our family of 4. We loved the outdoor patio and the big kitchen table. The Villa had all the amenities we needed, but it is not the most modern vacation home we have rented. The mattress in the master bedroom could use an upgrade. The AC worked well and cooled the house nicely. The washer AND dryer in the house were great and worked well. Would have been nice to have a few more items in the house, like hand soap and extra toilet paper. There was no soap and just 2 rolls in the entire house. The pool is small, but was close to Villa #24 and the kids still had a blast in it.

Island Paradise

We loved our stay at Chris's villa on one of the most beautiful place in the world. The villa was gorgeous and the people were great! Chris was extremely helpful and very quick to respond to all questions we had for him. When we got to Panama city we had a great time with Eldris who picked us up from the airport and showed us around the city. Then when we got to Contadora Jose was there to meet us and was very helpful whenever we needed anything. We had a great time on the island, did a lot of island hopping, whale watching, fishing and plenty of relaxing! The food at Gerald's and Villa Romantica was delicious, although our faveorite place to eat was Gerald's. We met many great people on the island and will planning our return very soon. The only reason I did not rate my overall experience as excellent is because we had a little issue with a leaky roof when it rained but I am sure that will taken care of soon for the next visitors and it did not spoil our vacation one bit! If you are looking for a relaxing trip to paradise then I would recommend renting this villa 100 percent!

We are a family of 4 with 2 young kids. This Villa is amazing. It has everything you need. It’s a quick two minute walk down a bunch of stairs to an amazing beach. Which we had to ourselves during the week. The Villa is close to the airport but there are barely any flights during the week. Many people come in for the w-e so there are lots of flights on friday during the day but they dont really disturb. The island does get a lot busier during the w-e so best to visit monday to thursday for a quieter experience. And recommend bringing your own sand toys and snorkle gear. We rented a golf cart for the 4 of us and it was perfect to get around the island. We were skeptical about the beds as per previous reviews, the queen bed was very comfortable, and the two single beds were a little bit on the softer side but were great for the kids. Maritza picked us up from the ferry. Which she charged us $10 after dropping us off (which we didnt know about) but was fine cause she gave us a whole tour of the island. We had discussed with her for driving us back to the ferry on our departure date for the same price and she confirmed she would pick us up at 2:30 for a 3:30 ferry departure. At 3:00 she wasnt there (e called but no answer) so we panicked and hitch hiked and made it on time thankfully. This was the only negative part our trip. The pool is right behind the villa and we had the pool to ourselves all week. Over all, this Villa is really great.

Better look for hotel room

This is Villa with 3 non comfortable beds in total and only suitable for max of 3 separate people or 4 if two of them is a couple. For extra 20$ you can get your bed sheet change or a bit cleaning one of floors. Comunication is terrrible. I booked thru hotels.com they transfered me to vrbo where they said because I do not have acc with them I must contact the owner or if I do not like I can cancel booking and sleep somewhere else. Well I stayed but one of our friend slept on the sofa downstairs in the kitchen...lucky she was not tall and was able to fit. Why they advertising that possible to sleep 7 people? Of course you can add 20 people if they sleep everywhere...on the floors and in balcony or terrace. Swimming pool is in comon area (not private as looks like in pictures) Internet always brakes. Very not stable. House really needs to be repainted and beds changed. Imagine you are sleeping your head down all the time. Owner should try to sleep in one of the beds and feel it. For the price we paid we should get at least daily cleaning.

Our cottage was cute, clean and comfy and the ocean views spectacular! Contadora is a very quiet island without a lot of extracurricular activities- a great place to go if you are looking to get away from the rush of daily life. We’d love to return!

Great location, close to beaches, restaurants. The owner and caretaker were great. LOVED the deck for lounging and soaking up the great weather. Only reason for 4 star rating is a few more amenities would have been appreciated. A rug by the floor to get rid of sand, maybe an iron or hairdryer, etc. This seemed common in Panama, so need to be more prepared!

Fantastic stay on Contadora

This has been our best vacation rental experience from start to finish. Communication was great. Property was great for our family. House is nice and well equipped and located on a beautiful beach. You can hear the waves from the deck. Beach is just a short walk away. Jose the caretaker was very nice and helpful. Met us at the ferry. Arranged activities for us and came right away when we had any questions. Manager and owner were great to work with. Kindly offered us an extra night for free due to weather! Would definitely recommend staying here and hope to return. True paradise!

Perfect location on Contadora

It was an incredible trip to Contadora I stayed for 1 month with my 2 grand children 5 years & 8 years old. We were able to go to the beach every day . The Condo was great. The only thing I would say is if you are staying more than a week to be sure to bring your groceries from Panama because on the Island it is very expensive for all groceries including restaurants. It is very easy to bring groceries if you are taking the ferry to the Island. We only found really a couple of restaurants I would recommend. The Casa Tortuga was great for a pizza treat. If you wanted a real meal I would suggest Perla Real which is also a restaurant. There is a small local restaurant near the Police station called "Claritas" hands down the best chicken on the Island and the fried shrimp was incredibly tasty... Best part was the cost. My grand children constantly stayed hungry so we mainly cooked at home due to the cost of food and restaurants. Geralds is located just 300 yards from the condo and was quite good for a Greek salad and the Pasta. If you are looking for a wine selection you will need to bring your own. As I paid $35 US dollars for a $12 bottle of wine in Panama. The grocery store's are very expensive. But the water & Beaches you cannot experience anywhere in the world it was incredible. My accommodations with Chris was one of the best on the Island I would defiantly recommend staying with him. The Villas were very safe and everyone was extremely helpful. I look forward to our return trip. We were all very saddened to leave but the experience will last us a life time!! Oh and this time of the year it is incredible to see all of the whales passing in fornt of the Beach.

The property is in a good location, with a nice breeze from the ocean. There are 98 steps (stairs) down to a very nice beach that is practically deserted much of the time. However, unless you like to sit on a log or lie directly on the sand, there is no place to sit down there. I recommended some portable beach chairs. There is not a lot to do on Contadora, so be ready to entertain yourself. Jose was wonderful. He speaks very good English and was always willing to accommodate our needs with fetching water and giving us rides to restaurants that are not within walking distance. We hired Don Pedro for a boat ride and caught a 25-lb grouper. He understands some English (Pedro...not the grouper).

Cute villa right off the main beach where the ferry lands and easy walking distance to two other great beaches and the grocery store in town. Chris is a great host and really wants you to have the best stay possible. He has an onsite caretaker to take you to the villa, show you around, and deal with any issues or questions that may come up. The villa has a well stocked kitchen and a grill on the deck for cooking. A great place to stay while you are Contadora Island.

Isla Contadora is so tranquil and beautiful, just what we needed. We rented a cart and visited all the beaches around the island including Cacique and Ejecutiva, all very beautiful. In the end we decided that our favorite is Playa Galeon right in front of your house! The runner-up is Playa Larga right in back of your house! Truly the location of your house is super!

Logement idéalement situé, proche de l'arrivée/départ des bateaux, à 100 mètres de deux plages différentes. A 50 mètres d'un des seuls/meilleurs restaurants de l'île (Chez Gérald). Deux épiceries à 5 minutes à pieds. José (le "concierge" qui représente le propriétaire sur place) est disponible, discret et efficace si vous avez besoin par exemple besoin de louer une voiture ou des services d'un pêcheur. Surface habitable suffisante pour une famille de 4 (nous étions un couple avec deux enfants en bas âge). Calme, voisinage discret. Au chapitre des améliorations possibles : la propreté n'était pas irréprochable. Une ou deux rénovations/modernisations seraient appréciées, rien de grave. Pas évident de bricoler dans un environnement aussi isolé cela dit. Très bon dépaysement au final.

Beautiful villa right on stunning beach, perfectly set up too !

We are a family from New Zealand and have been traveling for 5 months now. We always try and rent a house, apartment or villa, it’s much easier with the kids, we can cook and it feels more like a home. So we have stayed in quite a few places now. This villa is honestly one of our favourites !! I did not want to leave and even asked if we could stay longer !! It has a really really lovely feel about it, it’s a great layout, with open plan living downstairs, a full bathroom and a washing machine and dryer !! Upstairs is two huge bedrooms and another full bathroom. Every room has lots of opening windows and doors, a huge shady deck (two actually!) and with safe railings for the kids ! The villa is set up very well (we have stayed in many places with an oven but no oven tray for example or no cutlery, hardly any towels etc etc ... ) This villa is set up like you would your home there is everything, it made for a really easy week for us - the kitchen is brilliant, there is everything you need, there are lots of towels etc. and a BBQ !! The pool is right behind the villa, perfect location and the beach (pretty much private for these villas, we often had it to ourselves) is just below. Contadora is a gorgeous island, we had fun exploring, there are so many beautiful beaches. We also did a tour of the Pearl Islands and a snorkeling tour. The property manager here is lovely, he met us and was waiting when we got off the ferry and again dropped us off on our last day. Our family would really recommend staying here !!!

The peace and tranquility of the island allows me to relax and unwind. The beautiful white sand beaches and crystal clear water amount to a tropical paradise.

Why they chose this property

Only 15 minutes by air from Panama City and into a world of it's own. Villa 24 is 100 yards from the airport. It is so convenient to just hop off the plane and walk a few yards and I'm home. There are some great quality seafood restaurants on the island, providing scrumptious meals at affordable prices. There are all kinds of water sports, boating, diving, snorkeling etc available.

Villa 24 has a safe on the premises that allows for peace of mind when spending many hours at the beach each day, as it is comforting to know that your passports and valuables are secure. The Villa also has direct high speed Internet that provides both a strong wireless signal as well as a direct ethernet connection.
