Heaven's Gate St. John is a four bedroom luxury villa, overlooking St. John’s pristine East End. This property is surrounded by Virgin Islands National park lands, with sweeping, unobstructed 180 degree views of Hurricane Hole and open ocean dotted with small islands and cays, including Leduck Island, Peter Island, and Tortola. This hilltop retreat affords complete peace and privacy and is close to world-class snorkeling at Haulover Bay just below. It is also close to Brown Bay Trail, one of St. John’s best hiking destinations. This trail connects with the Johnny Horn Trail, which takes you to the Annaberg Sugar Plantation Ruins.

The villa is equipped with four Powerwall batteries and a solar array for off-grid sustainability. This upgrade is not just a "battery backup" like other homes that might only have one or two batteries or a noisy generator. It is an eco solution to keep you comfortable!

Each of the four handsomely furnished bedroom suites includes its own private bath, three with outside showers, and each suite has access to outside terraces.

The villa includes a sparkling pool with built in seating, gourmet kitchen, a large comfortably furnished great room, and both upper and lower level covered terraces framing the breathtaking views. And it is all surrounded by beautiful gardens and extensive tropical landscaping.

The pool with the ocean view is spectacular. We spent a great deal of time there. Given the size of the house and the number of guests it accommodates, they could use more than 4 lounge chairs.

Heavens Gate is a very special property ! The views just wow - it is a great space to gather with family and friends. Very comfortable accomodations and loved the outdoor spaces and the views. Heaven's Gate

We've just returned from a week long stay at the aptly named villa "Heaven's Gate". The home and views were jaw dropping! The attention to detail and owners interest in making our holiday enjoyable were evident and greatly appreciated! Not only is the home beautiful but the landscaping is stunning! Gorgeous palm trees, bougainvillaea and orchids adorn the property! The home is blessed with trade winds making air conditioning unnecessary and reducing the possibility of problems with insects. We found everything to be very clean and in great condition (no wear and tear!). Heaven's gate has a well appointed kitchen and is well stocked with ample beach chairs, towels etc. While at the home, we spent most of our time outdoors enjoying the many beautiful and large veranda's. Josephine was a pleasure to work with and was kind and patient as I had many questions! Hugo was a wonderful host who was also so very kind and helpful! Thank you for the wonderful greens and coconuts! Such a treat! Heartfelt thanks for allowing us to enjoy your magnificent home! We hope to return to the islands soon and will be in touch!

This villa is a treasure!!!

If you have the opportunity to book this villa, DO IT!!! The photos are completely accurate. It's just beautiful! We have rented many villas on St. John and this villa is by far the most beautiful and the most comfortable! Hugo was a pleasure to work with and his mom even gave us a bag of her delicious greens and veggies! Thank you so very much! Our family of 8 had more than enough room and the views were absolutely spectacular! We are definitely hoping to return at some point!

The perfect home base while exploring St. John

We had a wonderful time. We took day hikes and swims and then returned to this amazing villa with stunning views for the pool, the kitchen, the views, and the stars (we had cloudless, moonless skies). We even got to visit the owner’s farm! Excellent all around.

Celebrating a decade!

Heaven's Gate was a PERFECT location for four couples all celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversaries! Not only is Saint John beautiful, but Coral Bay and specifically the East Side of the island provided the perfect atmosphere for our trip. We rented two jeeps in Cruz Bay and enjoyed adventures all over the island. Beach days at Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Bay & Hanson Bay were awesome, as well as the Lime-Out Floating Taco Bar! We chartered a catamaran for a half-day through Big Blue Excursions and captain Sophie took us to two spots only accessible by boat - it was awesome! In Coral Bay, we enjoyed Skinny Leggs (for several amazing burgers) as well as Aquabistro. The Danforth was ok, but not our favorite spot. In Cruz Bay, you can't beat ocean-side breakfast at High Tides, the huevos rancheros were excellent! Last but not least, Hugo was an excellent host! We enjoyed greens and produce from their family farm and he was helpful and quick to respond if/when we needed something. We' re already dreaming about a return trip to the island and hopefully to Heaven's Gate. What a beautiful place! THANK YOU!

Truly Amazing - Exceeded Expectations

We were truly blown away by what a fantastic property this is. If anything, the pictures may not quite do this place enough justice. It exceeded our expectations. The views are breathtaking. Every morning we watched the sunrise from one of the many balconies; every evening we sat outside and enjoyed the view as well. The house is gorgeous and well-appointed, the landscaping beautiful, and the pool is perfectly situated with the same great view shared by the balconies. The host was very friendly and helpful with providing recommendations on where to go, restaurants, etc. We could go on an on. . . . The only real "downside" of staying here – and it may not be a downside depending on your point of view – is that it is about a 30 minute drive to the main town, although it seems longer given the nature of the roads. So stock up with groceries if you plan on eating at the house as there isn’t a supermarket nearby. Bottom line, this is a wonderful property and we would definitely stay here again.

Incredible Views

Our first visit to Heavens Gate and it’s an awesome property. House is fully stocked with beach towels, beach chairs, coolers. Kitchen has all you need if you chose to cook in. We enjoyed the pool after a day exploring the island. Highly recommend this home. Hope to be back again next year. Thanks Hugo

Gorgeous, generous house with a postcard view. Great wifi, cooling breezes, outdoor showers, beach extras to borrow, and a short drive to great beach foodie destinations like Hansen Beach (swim out floating taco bar) and Maho Beach (beachside food truck). Check in and out was easy too!

The work done to this villa shows great care in every detail. Well laid out and everything you could ask for with a constant breeze. Close to coral bay shopping and restaurants. Hugo came to my rescue in the middle of the night with no worries. He is a warm and good hearted person which I am sure all the family are the same. Can’t say enough about how grateful we are for his help and kindness. We have stayed at several island villas on St. John and this is the best. They all have personality, this villa touches on everything.

Perfect Trip

This villa is beyond gorgeous - the name fits it perfectly! The views and landscaping are spectacular from sunrise to sunset. Hugo welcomed us with open arms, and we met Mayumi and Josephine later - such a sweet, warm and kind family. The villa is very spacious and has EVERYTHING you need...including outdoor showers which are amazing and comfortable beds for a good nights sleep. The pool was large enough to swim laps in and there is always a very nice breeze. One of the highlights of our trip was the villa outdoor cat JoJo - we have missed him so much! We hope to be back again one day!!

Wow. This place is amazing. We've been travelling extensively for over 20 years and have been fortunate enough to see most of the globe... especially most of Central America, Mexico and the Car ibbean. We have different favorites for different reasons but, if we had to pick a favorite destination it would be St John... specifically Coral Bay area. Heaven's Gate is the most amazing property in that area. The view is truly spectacular! The photos are accurate but don't do it justice. It is a bit of a religious experience to watch the sun rise from this property. The house was well appointed, well maintained and more than sufficient for our family of 2 adults and 3 children (5, 7 and 9). In fact, we didn't even use the lower level of 2 additional bedrooms. You could easily fit 8 adults and a few kids although they publish their max capacity at 8. The owners were amazing and very responsive... although the only problem we had was forgetting the code to the security gate! :-) The only problem with this amazing home is that it is SO NICE that you don't want to leave... which of course is crazy since the St John and surrounding islands have so much to offer! We love St John... we love Heavens Gate. You simply won't find a better view for anything less then a rate only the uber rich can afford. If you disagree and can prove me wrong... please contact me because I want to go wherever it is you think tops this place! Amazing.

Heavens Gate is spectacular!

We have traveled around the world, including lots of places in the Caribbean, and we have never been to a place more beautiful than Heaven’s Gate. The views priceless by itself, but the incredible landscaping makes you feel like you are in the middle of a botanical garden, and the pool & home are amazing. The entire villa & grounds are breathtaking. We stayed there for 2 weeks, half the time with just my wife and I, and half the time with our adult kids. We all had an amazing time. The Coral Bay area is really laid back, but it has lots of small fun restaurants and all the basic necessities. Plus the people are super friendly. We snorkeled at lots of different spots and hiked in the national park. If you have a chance to stay at Heaves Gate do not pass it up. You will love everything about it!

What A Wonderful Place!!!

My husband and I just returned from a ten night stay at Heaven's Gate. It was one of the most awesome villas that we have ever stayed in. There we found a true jewel that provided peace, solitude, great views and the ultimate in comfort. Everything was there that we could have ever needed. We were met in Coral Bay and escorted to the house which has an electronic gate and a long driveway up to the house. The flower gardens beside the driveway and the house were done by the owner herself and the grounds are immaculate. The interior of the house is exactly as shown in the photos. The owner lives a short distance from Heaven's Gate and if you have a special need, she sees to it immediately. I would recommend this villa to my family and friends because of it's spectacular views and the well kept condition of the house itself and the grounds. Everything was spotless. If you are looking for a great escape, this is the villa for you!

Amazing Getaway!

What a wonderful villa! Absolutely stunning views from a fully equipped island home. The first thing you'll notice upon coming up the drive are the beautiful flowers, plants and trees that make even the exterior unique, even for St John. The landscaping is just the beginning, though. The gorgeous front entrance and 'silo' are welcoming and once inside you already feel as though you are home. A compass on the stonework out front gets your bearings for the view out of the windows in the great room and on to the porch is so much to take in,. The wrap-around porches (private on two of the suites) are breathtaking, with a full 210 degree view of the far East End and Caribbean Sea. To your right is a modest-looking, though deep-enough-to-dive pool thats just the right temperature to cool off in the warm sun. Should you turn back around to come inside and finally set your bags down, the well-equipped kitchen promises the meals will be just as good as the view. The suites are all set for a cozy, cool night in, should you choose to skip the top-of-the-line television in the great room. A/C really wasn't needed yet, but will be well appreciated in the summer months. A stereo in the great room powers the interior sound, while a separate one plays your music over the pool and sun deck. If you decide to leave the vila, theres great bars in the area to catch sports or live music and amazing food at Ms Vie's, a five minute drive East. Snorkeling is world class and the hiking will leave you hungry to fire up the grill out front. I would highly recommend this villa over any I have stayed in on the Western side of the island. The privacy is unmatched, the location is perfect, and the view cannot be beaten on St John.

Heaven's Gate AMAZING

The pictures don't do Heaven's Gate justice! The owners attention to detail throughout was impressive. The bedrooms are private & very comfortable. The outdoor showers are works of art. The grounds are immaculate and beautiful. I never saw such a wide variety of tropical flowers at a private villa. We were up early every morning to greet the rising sunshine...coffee till 10 am on the beautiful porches. Then decision time....do we leave or not? Take a 15 minute drive further east to the East End of the island & stop at Miss Vie's snack shack~ geat food. Spend another $2.50 per person & swim & snorkel on her most private sandy beach. Lovely day away from Heaven's gate. Most relaxing vacation I've ever had! Definelty plan to come back! I wish them great success but I hope it's available when I need it next!

The perfect getaway!

Heaven's Gate is absolutely gorgeous! The view is stunning - while staying there we traveled all over St. John and St. Thomas, and by far the best view I saw was from the beautiful patio of the house. It overlooks the water and the other side of the island, and is breathtaking! The house and grounds are well maintained and beautifully designed, and everything is very clean and welcoming. The kitchen was my favorite part of the house indoors - it is very well designed and has beautiful granite countertops, and is a great place to relax and enjoy time with friends. However, the outside is just beautiful - the patio and pool area are perfect, and look out over the water. The bedroom we stayed in was equally as stunning - we opened the French doors each morning to a lovely patio with a beautiful mosaic table and bench that overlooked the ocean - it was like a tropical paradise. It is just a short drive from the downtown area, which has great restaurants and shopping, but is wonderfully secluded and tucked away. It is peaceful and serene, and there are some great trails nearby that take you right over the beach (you could stop and go snorkeling, it is awesome), and take you to an old sugar mill. This would absolutely be my first choice for staying on the island, especially if you don't want to be in a crowded resort, and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to visit St. John. It is one of the most beautiful places I have been and this house was the perfect place to enjoy it!! While you're there definitely check out Skinny Legs, a restaurant right down the road (they have a great collection of Boston sports parapharnelia, which made me happy) - they have a great bar, and great burgers. Definitely take a day to do some of the trails nearby - they are the best way to enjoy the amazing wildlife, and you can stop on the trails for a dip in the beautiful water.

I was born here in the Virgin Islands and raised on an organic farm on St. John that my parents started together. Growing up here was nothing but unique! I went to Antilles High School on St. Thomas, so yes, a ferry boat was my school bus every day. After graduation I moved to the states where I spent a lot of time in Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, and South Dakota doing wilderness expeditions. I then got my bachelor's degree from the College of Charleston in Political Science, and captained the school's rugby club. The property you are looking at was actually designed and built by my parents. A family project that my sister and I helped with while we grew up. So I hope you can appreciate our labor of love if you choose to book this property! All rental income goes towards rebuilding our farm which was completely destroyed during hurricane Irma, so we thank you for considering being an important part of revitalizing the only source of locally grown organic produce on the island.
