Nice!
Very nice place! Our family loved the lodge and it worked out GREAT for visiting, playing games, letting the kids be kids and yet gave us enough space to spread out. We had all age groups and everyone truly enjoyed our stay.

About the host

Hosted by Mark Haugan

Host profile image
Mark designed the lodge with his hunters in mind, but it would be a shame not to share it with guests year round. The interior walls are clad with wood that was milled right here at the farm, corrugated sheet metal salvaged from grain bins, old red barn wood, stone, and brick. Lots of blood, sweat, and tears went into the construction of the Lodge. It's got character and charm bursting at the seams. Definitely a MUST SEE!!

Why they chose this property

The Lodge is located on a few hundred acres of wildlife habitat where the deer and the antelope play.. and, of course, pheasants as far as the eye can see! Smack dab in the middle of our land is a quaint little bass pond full of fish, turtles, and ducks. If bird watching is your thing, you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a bald eagle or two. We are far enough from town to be secluded and peaceful, but close enough for guests to enjoy the beautiful Missouri River and all it has to offer. It's also just a short drive into Pierre, South Dakota's capital city, where you can visit the historic Capitol building, stroll through one of our museums, or enjoy one of the best steaks you'll ever taste.
