About this property
Hilltop Haven Country Retreat Home near Sedona
Relax, retreat and recuperate at Hilltop Haven Home in the peaceful countryside of Rimrock, Arizona. Amazing panoramic views, comfortable decor, easy access and centrally located - just 20 minute drive to Bell Rock in Sedona, 20 minutes to Camp Verde & Cottonwood, 2 1/2 hrs to the Grand Canyon. The house is equipped for connection with loved ones in an atmosphere of quiet, peace, and desert tranquility.
Pet policy:
We allow dogs if they are: well trained and behaved, not allowed on furniture or on the beds, not left alone when you go out, and don’t bark regularly or incessantly. As the owner, you agree to clean up after your dog, and to dispose of the waste in a special trash bin. It’s helpful if your dog is recently groomed and/or doesn’t shed (much). Please ask about your dog ahead of time. There is an additional charge of $10/night..
We allow cats only if they do not scratch or shed. The guest will bring a bed, litter box, and optional scratchng post if necessary, for the cat and there is a $10/night charge.
The space:
The house has two bedrooms, each with a king bed and the living room has a queen sleeper sofa with a very comfortable memory foam mattress. There is an inviting covered porch with table and chairs for 4 and an additional "view" porch that looks eastward toward Coconino National Forest and the Mogollon Rim. Situated between the dark sky communitites of Sedona and Camp Verde, conditions for astrophotography and night sky viewing are often optimal.
Rimrock is a very safe and quiet community, far enough from the busy traffic and high lodging rates of Sedona but close enough to access all the attractions of northern Arizona, including hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails.
The house is cooled by a large rooftop evaporative cooler, which is very adequate for even the hottest days of the summer. Additionally, evap coolers have been proven to be much healthier than A/C units in limiting the spread of the Coronavirus because fresh air is constantly recirculating throughout the house.
Some people ask if we have a grill and we do not have an outdoor gas grill due to fire danger. Instead we have a counter top George Foreman electric gill available for guests.
Smoking Policy:
Smoking is strictly prohibited indoors but there is an outdoor smoking area for guests. Please bring your own ashtray.

Excellent stay, comfortable large rooms, great patio for star-gazing at night and drinking coffee in the morning Sun.Close enough to area attractions but far enough away for peace & quiet. Would definitely stay here again & recommend others if in the area.Bruce & Rachel had great directions & helpful hosts, Thanks!
The house had a lot of personally and was very relaxing! The outdoor seating was lovely, the interior decor felt very cozy and welcoming, and it was nice and quiet.
The house was wonderful and full of character. The view from the house was expansive and put us a in a great mood every morning. It was very comfortable and charming.
Its a great place to stay. Very thoughtfully decorated. Its very clean, spacious and organized. The location is lovely. Rachel and bruce are great hosts. They made the stay more enjoyable.
Very quiet and relaxing place with good views. So peaceful the deer come by for visits in the morning and evening. Which is a special treat. It also easy to get to the many great hikes in Sedona and the surrounding area from here.
We felt right at home! It’s stocked with everything you could need and sitting on a hill with beautiful vistas in every direction. So peaceful! We can’t wait to come back.
This home was even better than described. Charming and welcoming. Comfortable and has a perfectly stocked kitchen. Such a special place. I will be back again!!!
Very nice property situated atop a hill, affording long views to the east, south, and west from the deck and pergola. Perfect spots for a morning coffee or evening cocktail. Quiet and serene. Well equipped kitchen for DIY meals. Super comfortable king bed. Close enough to Oak Creek and Sedona to enjoy the sites, trails, shopping, and restaurants, but far enough away to have peace and quiet when you're done for the day. Animal lovers be sure to visit the Sedona Wolf Sanctuary just a few miles from this house (adults only - reservation required).
Their home was not only beautiful, but so warm and welcoming! The view from their living room was indescribable, you never wanted to leave your chair! All the comforts of home. 2 beautiful bedrooms and baths. The home's decor, art work, books were to die for - and we can't wait to go back next year. Thank you both for sharing your home with us! Lori and Cathy
Property and house were in a nice location and convenient to get to many different sites for enjoyment of hiking, eating, mountain biking and pretty much any type of extra curricular activity that you might enjoy doing. It could use a little more care with the cleaning. All of the visible surfaces were nice and clean but being that I am a little bit on the taller side, I was able to see things that a person of normal height wouldn’t see. Other than that it was a very comfortable and cozy place to stay. Owners were very easy to work with. Would recommend it for a nice getaway area.
Everything about our stay here was truly remarkable.
The location is perfect: Slightly secluded, but close enough to stores and restaurants to still be convenient.
The property is well-maintained and beautifully landscaped. There was plenty of wildlife and priceless views of the surrounding area.
The house itself had a very nice rustic but comfy feel, and was very clean with many updated features. Everything inside was fully stocked as if someone lives there, so daily tasks such as preparing food was easy and convenient.
Contact with the owners was always fast and polite. They were happy to accommodate our two dogs (who also loved the property) for a very modest fee.
We honestly did not have a single complaint after spending a full week here. We couldn't ask for a nicer property or hosts! We will absolutely stay here again when we are back in the area.
