Inconsiderate owner
We did not get to stay at this rental. I had booked it on October 2nd and the plan was for my friends and I to be there on October 28th. I had not heard anything from the owner at all before the check-in date and two hours before we were supposed to check-in, I called the owner to ask him about the check-in progress. He did not answer his phone so I texted him instead and he then canceled our reservation, saying that our plans would break his house rules.
I understand that he may not want to have us over at his rental house, I do not dispute that and I respect that it is his house. The problem lies in that this man had over three weeks to make that decision. He canceled the reservation two hours before we were supposed to check in and it really messed up our plans. I had a friend coming in from out of town and we were counting on being able to stay here, and because the reservation was canceled 2 hours before check-in, we frantically had to figure out something else.
This property owner ruined plans that we had made, on extremely short notice, when he had nearly a month to say “no” at any time beforehand. It was extraordinary inconsiderate, it ruined our time together, and we did not appreciate this.
