We had a lovely, lovely break at this lovely lovely property with lovely lovely host. 5 stars all round. We cannot speak highly enough of the host and their kindness and generosity. We were likely to have been the first English guests to the apartment and the host had gone the extra mile in getting hold of tourist information in English for us. The location of the property is second to none and the facilities were that of a fully functioning home rather than a rental holiday home. A traditional German home in a small town on the banks of the Elbe giving easy public transport access to just about every stroll and hike in the Saxon Switzerland National Park. The town offers good restaurants to boot. What more could you want?Our only issue was the communication with the German platform which had not made it clear that no payment would be taken from my bank account despite the booking showing that payment would be taken. The end result was embarrassment for me and for the host when we found out that no funds had been paid and cash is the method of payment. Fortunately we were able to satisfy this requirement but neither the host nor I should have been placed in this position and it could have been avoided with better communication between the platforms and the customer. This did not overshadow our stay at all and just helped improve my German at great speed. So, pay cash, travel light for the uphill walk to the front door and, oh yes - there's nothing wrong with the fridge
