This was our third time staying at this lovely home. The host is extremely helpful and accommodating. The home has all of the expected amenities and then some. We will be staying here every time we are in town.

Thank you for choosing Grandpa's farm again! You are welcome back any time :D
Comfortable, quiet location and a great place to stay!
I stayed at “Grandpa’s Farm” recently. From the moment I pulled in the drive it felt welcoming. The house was charming, clean, and comfortable! I hope to stay again in the future!
House is cute! Very accommodating host. We had no problems getting in or setup. It snowed and the driveway was clear the next day. There was ample dishes and some necessities in the fridge. The only things I noticed and the only reason I did 4 stars instead of 5 was that the bed in the room with the 1 queen bed was super squeaky. If you’re a light sleeper it’s distracting but if not then so worries. None of the inside doors have locks. Not a big deal but made my daughter uncomfortable. There is one bathroom sick of the two that barely has water come out. Again not a big deal.
A great place to gather. Have biked the area many times...perfect for that. Felt very comfortable in the home. Host was always gracious and easy to reach.
Staying here was simply amazing. Location was just what we were looking for. The house was cozy and had every single thing you could think of needing! Can’t wait to come back!
Cozy & Scenic Stay Near Family – Beautiful Home with Charming Farm Views
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home in La Porte while visiting family for a celebration of life. The fall colors were stunning, and the updated, clean home was the perfect retreat. We loved the unique experience of staying near a dairy farm, and the kids were thrilled to see cows up close! The thoughtful touches, scripture, and decor throughout made us feel truly blessed. This home is clearly well-loved and well-kept, and its proximity to our grandpa made it even more special. We’re looking forward to staying here again!
Our stay at Grandpa's House was relaxing and comfortable. It was the perfect house and location for visiting our family in La Porte, IN. I grew up in La Porte, and Grandpa's house felt like home. We enjoyed watching the cattle and wild turkeys out the back door. The house had everything you could want for your stay. It was clean with a very welcoming decor.
We look forward to another visit to Grandpa's house. Thank you, Laurie, for sharing your beautiful home.

Thank you, Jane! I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay, and you are welcome back any time. We deeply appreciate how well you took care of the home.!
Being Florida residents, we travel to the Valpo area several times a year to see our children and grandchildren. We normally stay in hotels when visiting but this time, we chose the farm. What a fantastic decision!!
The home is absolutely wonderful. It's clean, spacious and well organized. There are two good-sized bedrooms which were perfect for granddaughter sleep-overs. The kitchen had everything we needed from cookware to spices. There is a large pantry that was "stocked" with an assortment of things you don't think about when you're packing. My wife baked zucchini bread but didn't have enough flour to dust the pans. She checked the pantry and viola, there was flour.
The living room was comfortable with a large TV (we watch a lot of baseball and hockey). There is a desk in one of the bedrooms where my wife set up her sewing machine for quilting. I set up my electric keyboard in the living room We had room for everything.
The grounds were beautiful. The lawns were well kept and, oh, did I mention we were smack in the middle of a farm?!? Cows and roosters, acres of farmland with very little traffic. We really enjoyed taking our coffee on the back deck watching three young turkeys foraging every morning.
Laurie was the perfect host. Easily accessible and responded with a sense of urgency whenever we reached out. It was a wonderful week. Best of all, we found our Indiana home away from home and will look to book there first whenever we leave sunny Florida.
We had a wonderful overnight stay! The home is warm, inviting and as pictured. We watched the cows from yard and loved every minute. Wished we could have stayed longer! The host was responsive and very accommodating. We would definitely want to stay again.
We found Grandpa's House on a working dairy farm, nestled in the Indiana countryside, to be clean, comfortable, and cozy. House is recently updated, and the decor is pleasing. The house has two bedrooms with three beds, a full bath with two sinks, a nice living room with television, DVDs, and streaming, and a large table in the eat-in kitchen. The kitchen's cooking area was roomy and well-stocked with gadgets and gear. The hot water was slow to get to the shower, but it wasn't an issue once it got there.
Mudroom had a separate entrance handy for hauing photo and video gear in and out every day. We didn't use the washer or dryer, but it was nice to know they were available if needed. Half-bath in the mudroom felt like a luxury since all our houses are one bath.
The kitchen was well-equipped.
Good selection of small appliances. I did not find a blender but used a small food processor. The knives we found were usable. I have a collection of knives at home that I use for doing food photography, video, and writing, so admittedly, I'm a knife snob. Dinnerware and bakeware were all decent, and we found a pan that we loved - always a plus!
The owner has provided everything we could require.
Our dogs were thrilled with the basket of dog toys for playing. What a pleasant surprise! We had lots of gear to charge up every night and plenty of places to make that come together. I liked the runners and rugs on the flooring. We brought many rugs of our own to protect the floors and keep the dogs comfortable walking around, and with the rugs already in the house, they were right at home. I accidentally took one of the rugs when packing up to leave, and Laurie made it simple to pay for a replacement.
We felt welcome like we were part of the local community while staying here. There was activity relating to the cows and harvesting on a working dairy farm. It felt familiar, like visiting the family farms in the Valparaiso area. People waved as they passed when we were sitting out front and walking dogs on a country mile stroll at the start and end of our long days. We did have one of the lovely cows come for a more personal visit, and the dogs loved that! We called the phone number in the kitchen and let them know one of the girls was visiting, and she was safely escorted back to the herd.
Would Stay Again. We liked this property and appreciated the dog-friendly option. I almost wanted to keep it a secret because the dogs and people liked it so much.
