This place was absolutely amazing. It was beautifully decorated and the property manager was awesome. The cafe across the street delivered our breakfast both mornings! We will definitely be staying here again.

We love historic, interesting places and this home filled the bill.
An old grocery store turned home. Great space for gathering in living and kitchen. Dining space for 13, kitchen stocked with everything we needed plus cold drinks awaiting us as well as snacks! 2 car garage parking which is unheard of in historic neighborhoods. 4 bedrooms, 3 of which sleep couples and one that our 6 grandchildren shared and they loved it. Sweet second floor porch with perfect views of the Tower Americas great for New Years Eve if your in town. Short walk to downtown, restaurants close by. We will be back!!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
Disappointed
This property is very close to the road and road noise made it difficult to sleep. There was also a lot of train noise several times each night. The neighborhood was not the best. There is a liquor store close by marked with gang graffiti. The house is smaller than it appears online. The bunk bed room was actually in the closet. So no closet was available in the upstairs master. The house was very clean upon arrival.
This home was prefect for our family. We were 5 adults and 5 kids (ages 12-2). The house is very well stocked with all the necessities, it’s a great location, everything was perfect! I almost don’t want to share how wonderful it was because I don’t want to not be able to rebook next year! River city hosting does such a wonderful job. You can’t go wrong. I believe the property is a new listing, it had a not so great review after we already booked so I was a little weary. But the house seemed adequate size to us, and the noise from traffic/trains wasn’t horrible, everyone slept without issues. Not sure what the other renter was expecting in downtown San Antonio. We were there over new years and even with fireworks all the kids slept very well. You’re within walking distance of several parks, the friendly spot ice house, many local shops…. Really it’s a gem.

We are extremely grateful for your kind review, Devon. We are so glad that you all enjoyed the home and the amenities we provide. We would love to host you and your family any time!
House was great in all aspects. My stay was with a large group and everyone was able to have there own bed / some did have to share rooms (e.g., room with bed and sleeper sofa). All appliances were new. Showers were great. Relaxing outdoor space. They provided hotel size soaps, toothpaste, etc. And they let us check-in early as it worked out with there schedule. Would 110% recommend!!!
2 things to note :::
- 1. One of the "bedrooms" is more a converted very large closest with bunk beds and to enter that room you need to walk through another room (wasn't an issue for us).
- 2. A few of the rooms facing the street def were a little loud from traffic. However, my group all lives in the city and are used to that, so it wasn't a bother to us at all. (they are nice enough to provide earplugs if needed).
I would not let either of the above stop me from renting again or recommending this place for a large group.
From a location POV, there were handful of solid food and drinks places within a handful of blocks. And depending on what area(s) you want to visit, all were a $15 / 10 mins Uber ride away (it was nice to be more in a neighborhood then downtown - but with close by options).
As I said, would def recommend!
