The interior is spacious with Open Kitchen Dining and Living room. Our Dining table can seat 4-12 with the use of its additional leaves. The kitchen has an island/bar counter dividing the Living area from the cooking area. It is a self-heated home for cool evenings. Wood floors and area rugs. Adirondack furniture with a unique log couch for comfort with a memory-foam cushion.. Full bathroom with sink toilet and large walk-in shower. There is a queen-size Tempura-Pedic bed in the large bedroom, a full-size bed in the smaller Loft room, Two Twin beds, and a slide-out cot/bed in a larger upstairs loft bedroom both with window views. There are ceiling fans in most rooms, and a spacious deck with chairs, a table, an umbrella, and a BBQ grill. An 18-hole golf course is only 2 miles away. The home is landscaped with a perennial garden and shrubbery. Activities and attractions of the Boothbay region are all within 3 miles. Convenient to all that is going on yet private. Several public boat landings for launching larger boats are about 10 minutes from the cottage. Downtown Boothbay Harbor with waterfront cruises shops and restaurants is only 10-15 minutes from the Lodge. There is a nature preserve within a 5-minute walk with hiking trails along the waterfront of the Damariscotta River. There is a nearby lake with public swimming about 10-15 minutes drive from the cabin and plenty of Ocean all around the area.
The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, the largest botanical garden in New England is just 4 mile drive from this home. Mossy Glen Lodge is located in the heart of the mid-coast region of Maine. Many Light house to see locally. The area bustles with craft fairs, lobster & clam festivals, boat builder festivals, and railroad museums, and more all along the coast. There are whale watch cruises, Sunday evening reggae boat cruises, and fishing excursions that leave from downtown Boothbay. Boothbay also boasts a first-class YMCA, galleries, unique gift shops and stores, and of course, the freshest lobster in the world! Well we think so :-)
You will also find within an hour's drive: the Pemaquid Lighthouse, the Andrew Wyeth Museum and the Maine Maritime Museum, LL Bean's, and even the Portland waterfront. And it is all yours for your enjoyment.

About the host
Hosted by Jogg Ogg

The owner of Mossy Glen Lodge has been a Teacher, a Boat Captain, Coast Guard Veteran and a home builder. Now retired... This home was hand built by myself and now ready to share with you.
Why they chose this property
This is one of the magical coastal jewels of the Northeastern corner of North America. I also grew up here from age 6-18. Activities abound in the day and night in the harbor 3 miles away while the quiet of the woods await you on your return in the evening - I love it for its peace and quiet of seclusion in the woods with a campfire and to be close to the ocean shores which leave me cooled by sea breezes. -- It is within an hour from here to Camden or Portland along the coast and only about 10-15 minutes to the coast locally. The mountains of Maine are within a 2 hour drive. It's pretty special and I'M grateful I chose here to retire.
