Everything was great and respect to the cleanness of the home as well as the responsiveness of the owners. The neighborhood is fantastic and we enjoyed a walk every day into town.

There was no book that told us how they want it cleaned up. There were zero blankets (except for the bedding) They were not very accommodating.

Hi Christina, sorry you felt this way.
We have blankets on the bed for all guests, just not extra ones but we would get them for you if you let us know you need it. As of check out instruction and wifi information they are all in the dinning room table for guests to read. We have communicated to all the messages you sent in the chat but we haven't receive all the responses for the questions we asked from you during the stay.
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. We especially liked the outdoor patio. The location is great - close to downtown Birmingham with good shopping and restaurants.
Our host was very accommodating and responsive. I would highly recommend this VRBO.
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home in Birmingham, MI! The house was immaculately clean and thoughtfully updated with all the modern amenities and toiletries you could need. It was incredibly spacious, both inside and in the private backyard, which is perfect for relaxing or entertaining with family. The location was ideal and easy to access, and being on a corner lot gave us added privacy, which we really appreciated. Entry was a breeze, and everything about the check-in and check-out process was seamless. Our host was fantastic, very responsive and accommodating anytime we had a question or needed anything. We truly felt at home during our stay and would absolutely book again in the future. Highly recommend!
The house is updated, yet it still has historical charm. It was extremely clean and comfortable! We used the great basement area to watch March Madness and cooked our Easter Brunch in the cute kitchen. Great location - we loved walking down the street to the French Bakery and adjacent little market. Exceeded our expectations - thanks for a wonderful stay!
Our month-long stay at this property was absolutely wonderful! The host went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, even purchasing a brand-new grill just for us, as well as new pots and pans. The weekly complimentary cleaning was such a thoughtful touch and made our lives incredibly easy. The property grounds were stunning—perfectly maintained and a joy to come back to each day. The location was excellent, with everything we needed nearby. The check-in and check-out process was seamless, and the host was incredibly responsive, always quick to meet any needs or answer questions. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, and we highly recommend this property!
My mom, sister and best friend came to Michigan to celebrate my birthday. Instead of a hotel we thought a VRBO would be the best option. This cottage did not disappoint. We were close lots of food options. Plus not far from the Detroit. We were in out of the cottage throughout the days. It was nice to come back after a busy day and relax and spend time together. The description and photos are very accurate. If you need to be in Detroit or its suburbs I would highly recommend this location.
The house is beautiful and unique. I chose this house as I have friends that live very near. The location was perfect. We were disappointed with the deck, as the furniture was covered and appeared moldy. The doors to the deck were inoperable. A primary reason for selecting this property was the advertised outdoor space, complete with a fire pit, where the girls could gather. Unfortunately, this amenity was not available. A pamphlet informed me that a device was monitoring noise levels and smoke. While the explanation was clear, I remained uneasy with the sensation of being watched and overheard.I feel overall for the 2 nights and with the fees it was very overpriced. I regret not just getting a hotel room.

Hi Tina, I'm sorry to hear that you were't quite satisfied with your stay with us.
We did went to check the few items you mentioned after reading your review. The outdoor furniture are in very good condition, it is just the cover has few little black spots on it from being outside whole winter and we checked it is not mold either. The door in the dinning room towards the deck is fully functional as well, if you communicate to us during your stay we could hep you with them. And the last thing you mentioned is the noise control system. You can goodle them, these devices detect when noise levels exceed a preset threshold. They are small sensors which are designed to protect guest privacy and do not record conversations or sound. They are very commonly used to help prevent noise complaints.
We want to reply to you to explain these items you mentioned because we do care about your expiences with us, we hope this helps.
This historic home is very tastefully updated and was extremely clean. The location is great, a short walk from Whole Foods and about a mile from downtown Birmingham. There is a large furnished deck, and the garden is lovely. I would recommend planning to eat out while in town, as the kitchen is not really set up for actual cooking (no dish towels, and the cooking equipment consists of four nonstick fry pans, one 1.5 quart nonstick sauce pan, and two disposable cookie sheets that appear to have been used a lot already). Also, the property would not be appropriate for people who have scent allergies/sensitivities, as there are a lot of air fresheners and scent diffusers all over. There is also no shower gel, only shampoo and conditioner, in the shower so you should bring your own shower supplies.
The interior of the home was just lovely. Beautiful kitchen with fabulous appliances, basic pots / pans, stocked Nespresso machine. Comfortable furniture throughout the home, especially the king bed in the primary bedroom with super luxurious mattress and sheets. Huge and new washer and dryer in the basement. Renovated bathroom upstairs which services both bedrooms is done very nicely with plentiful storage in an adjacent hall closet. Homeowner responded quickly to questions. The A/C went out one morning during our stay and he came that night to make sure I was using the thermostat correctly. When he saw that I was, he sent a technician the following morning. So just one night at 78 degrees in the house. Very happy to have had the two fans.
Our only disappointment (and it was a big one) was the lack of upkeep in the yard. During a three week reservation the grass was only cut once, after asking about it, and they never came again. We only had a few days of rain during our stay and all the neighborhood houses were kept so nicely. In general the yard is overgrown with dead perennials which are desperate to be cut back. The grass was so long, (about calf deep when we requested the first cutting and again by the time we left) for so many days, the kids really couldn’t go out and play. We were very lucky and happy to have such quick access to the beautiful Pembroke Park for our outdoor enjoyment. With some TLC to the exterior, the home would be an absolute 10+++!
First of all, our arrival after two long days driving up from SC was infinitely better when we were graciously met by our hosts!. We truly felt like we were being welcomed home and they even helped us with our bags! This lovely home served as our sanctuary for 4 days while attending a family funeral. Decorated in such an elegant yet cozy way, it felt like our quiet respite for my husband and I between all the scheduled events with our large and loud family based in Plymouth. The neighborhood was picturesque- especially in Autumn where every tree was aflame with color. Also, so quiet and peaceful as we enjoyed our view from the outdoor deck. Downtown Birmingham was only a few blocks away and full of great restaurants and shops to enjoy. Well appointed, furnishings especially the bedrooms and spa- like bathrooms Just dreamy! We will definitely book it again for all of our visits to Michigan.! Look no further for this eminently soft place to comfortably fall, rest and rejuvenate!
Perfectly charming home in a family friendly Birmingham neighborhood. Really comfortable home with great couches, kitchen, and 2 comfy beds. Outdoor patio was also a great place to hang out. Very clean and nicely updated throughout the entire home.
