Sustainability & Local Impact
We are deeply committed to conservation and sustainable living. Over the past five years, we’ve planted more than 600 native trees and plants on the property and donate a portion of each stay to local climate action efforts through CorClima.
Guests are welcome to explore the shared yard, which features native plantings, fruit trees, a coffee field, and a newly added walking path.
Tap water is potable—there’s no need to purchase bottled water. We also encourage thoughtful water and energy use as part of our eco-conscious approach.
A Few Helpful Notes
-Please keep windows and doors closed when away, as monkeys have been known to sneak inside.
- Insects are a normal part of forest life here. They’re harmless and play an important role in the local ecosystem. During dry season, we recommend you use repellent as there are tiny mites (in leaf litter) that, although harmless, cause a mighty itch. We also recommend you shower after hikes.
-A house manual is provided with directions, WiFi codes, and local recommendations.
Looking for a Beach Stay Too?
If you're planning to visit other parts of Costa Rica, check out our other listing near Playa Ocotal in Guanacaste—just 35 minutes from Liberia International Airport and minutes from Playas del Coco. It's perfect for a warm, relaxing finish to your cloud forest adventure.
We look forward to welcoming you to Monteverde and helping you enjoy all the beauty and biodiversity this unique destination has to offer.

About the host
Hosted by Jorge Torres

We love sharing the beauty of Monteverde with guests from around the world. Hosting allows us to connect with people who appreciate nature, tranquility, and a sense of place. When not tending to our rentals, we enjoy exploring the cloud forest and painting scenes inspired by the vibrant local wildlife and landscapes.
Why they chose this property
We chose this location because it offers rare access to both nature and convenience. The property is located just 100 meters from the center of Monteverde, yet feels tucked away and peaceful. With three hectares of land, including two-thirds protected forest, it sits within two biological corridors, making it a natural passage for wildlife like monkeys, coatis, and a variety of birds. It's a place where you can feel immersed in nature while still being close to everything.
What makes this property unique
Our apartment offers a true treetop experience, with elevated views, cathedral ceilings, and a private balcony that opens to the forest canopy. The space is designed to feel cozy yet bright, with natural light pouring in and wildlife often visible right outside. What sets it apart is the balance of privacy, thoughtful design, and direct connection to the surrounding ecosystem—guests often tell us they feel like they're staying in a peaceful forest retreat with all the comforts of home.
