This property could use some updates...most of the cabinets were broken...also pest control definitely needed. Shouldn't have guest sign a waiver for roaches
The house is dated and had For Sale sign in yard. The mattresses are old and stagging. Carpet tearing upstairs. No face towels. Dryer not working. When we entered the ac was not on. Trash was left in cans. Faucet in kitchen was loose. Faucet in master spraying water everywhere. The pool n hot tub was not acceptable n had grass growing out of it. Trash was left in back yard and we didn't feel safe going to the back yard. They changed check out time even though the contract said 11:00. They added a extra deposit at the last minute. I never talk with the owner. The ice machine didn't work. We won't stay at this location any more.

Hi Mable, sorry to hear that you and, and your large group of 16, did not enjoy your stay. We really tried to help you and make things as easy as possible for you, including giving you a payment plan so you would had time to come up with the payment. The house was currently rehabbed and freshly painted, so I don’t know what you mean by it being dated, because it is definitely not. I’m not quite sure what you mean by “stagging” but the mattresses are certainly not old. We buy all brand new mattresses with all of our short-term rentals; and that hasn’t been a short-term rental for too long for mattresses to be considered old. Not even close. I don’t see what you mean by the carpet tearing upstairs. We have plenty of face towels, regular towels in this and all of our current 40+ short term rentals. If the dryer that was there wasn’t working, it has since been replaced. I’m not sure about the AC, if it was running or not as I wasn’t there but do keep in mind that there are two AC systems in the house so it does cool down very quickly, even it was off when you arrived. In regard to the trash being left in the cans, that could very well have been the case. The garbage only picks up twice per week and sometimes they pick up a day or two after a previous guest leaves, there’s really not much we can do about that other than what we already do and that is provide extra cans. In regard to two different faucets having issues, I kind of find this hard to believe as previous guests or the cleaning ladies would have pointed it out to us. We don’t list the pool or hot tub as an amenity in this house, so I don’t see the need to complain about them. I know you said that you didn’t feel safe going in the back yard but I don’t quite understand that. However, we do know some guests like to stay for free and try to get a refund by using certain buzzwords. You complained about the deposit. The extra deposit certainly wasn’t added “at the last minute”, it is clearly stated in all of our listings, which guests see before they commit to renting. We also mention it again in the rental agreement, so we are definitely not trying to hide it. We had previous guests doing drugs, stealing things, having huge parties outside with a DJ literally till 6am, running over our neighbors mailboxes and a whole lot of other things, until we started collecting a deposit. We are perfectly fine with people not wanting to book with us who don’t want to pay a deposit. Those are the bad guests, and they weed themselves out for us that way.
We have had plenty of guests before and after you who have not complained about a single thing you mentioned here, so I’m not really sure what was going on with you but I think you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned that you never talked to the owner. If you had communicated these things to us, we could have been able to assist you right away, like we do with all of our guests.
Yes, the check-out times changed, but for the better for our guests. We used to have check-in at 4pm and check-out at 10am. We changed our times on all of our properties to check-in at 3pm and check-out at 11am, which again is a benefit to our guests by having two extra hours, so I’m not sure why you would also complain about this. If you’re going to complain about us giving better check-in and check-out times to you and all of our other guests, I simply think that you are one of those people who will literally complain about everything.
I’m not going to lie and say we hope to see you back again at one of our properties. In fact, I certainly wouldn’t approve your request. Life is too short to be dealing with people who constantly complain about trivial things and make up lies.
To be honest, you are one of those guests who make short-term rental hosts want to leave the business, you will complain about everything, like you did, stay the entire trip and then ask for a refund.
