Quiet and Peaceful Retreat in Spectacular Cleghorn Canyon

Retreat to this hideaway tucked away in beautiful Cleghorn Canyon after a day of exploring the Black Hills. Take in the sandstone cliffs on both sides of the canyon while the kids play on the swing set. We frequently see big horn sheet, deer, and turkeys in the backyard. This restored home features three bedrooms, a beautiful outdoor living area, and in-unit washer and dryers. The home is located in Cleghorn Canyon - minutes from downtown restaurants and entertainment, and a short drive to all the Black Hills has to offer - Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Sylvan Lake, Needles Highway, & much more! You will have access to the entire home and can easily enjoy morning and evening walks in the quiet and peaceful neighborhood. There are parking spots for three cars on site. You are a few minutes drive from all of Rapid City’s shopping, breweries, and coffee shops. The home is central to everything the Black Hills has to offer. 25 minutes to Mount Rushmore. 35 minutes to Sheridan Lake. 45 minutes to Sylvan Lake, the Custer game loop & much more!

Convenient location to town but also beautiful, located in the canyon, within walking distance to a park/lake with walking paths. Check-in was easy, host is responsive. House was just what our family of 6 needed for our week-long visit to South Dakota.

Great spot to stay

Our family enjoyed our stay here in Rapid City at this property. Close to lots of things to check out in the area. The house is in a nice, quiet area to relax at after a busy day exploring

This was a fabulous location, quiet, peaceful and surrounded by beauty and wildlife! It was close to restaraunts and attractions but away from the hustle and bustle. I loved having outdoor seating both in front and in back of the house. The host was super responsive when we had a request during our stay.

Relaxing stay

Perfect place just outside of town on a quiet street. The views of the hills all around you from the kitchen and living room are amazing. The home is within a hour from Custer state park, Mt Rushmore, Crazy horse, cave tours and Deadwood. The house was clean and very accommodating. Only suggestion we have are more towels for bigger families, a can opener for the kitchen and better checking out instructions. We loved our time at the rental.

Excellent location with easy access to local sights. Beds were very comfortable. Information provided by host was excellent. Fun to see deer, turkeys and other wildlife near the house almost every day. Additional cleaning would be good (windows; vacuuming in areas behind furniture; kitchenware, stovetop and fridge needed cleaning). Coffee percolator did not work - we bought one for our use. Otherwise, kitchen was well equipped. Plenty of parking area.

Perfect home base

Our family of 5 stayed a few nights as we discovered and explored the Black Hills. It was the perfect place to start and end our days. Our youngest loved the swing set. Our older 2 loved the bunk bed. The king bed was very comfortable. The hosts were super responsive to any questions, but answered most before we even asked them with their welcome note. Thank you!

Good but not a single story that accommodates handicapped or elderly with limited mobility

I wished there were more photos to tell the story. I thought we were heading to a single story easy access vacation home in the hills, and what we rented was a house with a walk up basement with a very steep and narrow staircase, the outside stairs to the front door, had no railing making it super difficult for my elderly family member to maneuver. The house was not set up for our arrival and needed sheets rewashed. The yard grass was about a foot tall when we got there. After some back and forth with the rental group and cleaning crew they quickly helped alleviate this.
