This was our second time renting this particular property. It is well suited for a large groups as it has four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. The backyard pool is a bonus to cool off in the evening.
There are plenty of towels and sheets on hand as well as four foldable chairs in the storage outside next to the hotwater tank to take on excursions. We did bring a collapsible cooler and freezer packs with us and I recommend this.
Location is within walking distance to the Ritz where between the Ritz and Marriott you will find a palapa and chair rental shop to rent a lounger for the day on the beach.
The outdoor furniture at the pool could use some attention as well as the the weathered table and chairs on the upper deck where it is a great place to have a few drinks and watch the sunset.
You will also be within walking distance the Ting Wei corner store where you will find last minute groceries, beer, wine and spirits. One thing that isn't lacking in Aruba are grocery stores: they are everywhere.
The neighbourhood where the house located is on a dead end cul-de-sac so there isn't a lot of traffic.
Communication is very good with the owners and they are very thorough with their instructions.
All in all a great place for your vacation.
convenient & comfortable
We enjoyed our stay at the Parrots' Nest. It's a short walk to the beach, and easy to walk to some of the restaurants on the upper end of the high rise hotels. It's also a short drive to many sites.
The house has plenty of room with a kitchen well-stocked with supplies. There are plenty of towels available, too.
After being out for a while, it was nice to come back to relax by and have a cooling dip in the pool. It's particularly nice that you have the option of being in sun or the shade of the palapa. In the mornings, we'd have breakfast on the patio and watch the geckos running around. We even had a visit from an iguana one day.
We had excellent communication the owners. We also met Rosy and Jefferson who are sweet people.
In short, it's a nice house in a good location.
Kelly and Dave, thank you so much for your kind words! We are very happy that you had a good time @ the Parrots' Nest. We also love our location close to beaches, restaurants, casinos, etc. We also spend a lot of time on the patio (dining for many guests), the pool, the tiki bar, and the roof deck. And thank you for the shout-out to Rosy and Robinson, our highly valued assistants who have become family to us!
Great Get Away and a Great Home in a Great Location.
Really enjoyed the pool. Real nice place for our family to enjoy. We really had a good time and really enjoyed the stay. The location was great. I really love the neighbourhood. Shopped at Super Foods many times and did so many things. I would really love to have a place on my own there when I am ready to retire. Joan (Sunny) and Ron were really nice to advice us of all the details of the property and had everything ready for us when we arrived. The house was fully furnished. I would return to Aruba and Parrot's Nest in a heart beat. I wish one day I can own a property like this to retreat back to it. Thank you so much Joan and Ron.
Dear Suthan and family, thank you so much for the kind words! When you returned to Canada, you had work waiting, so it was very appreciated that you took the time to write. We also love our location (which is close to everything but in a quiet cul-de-sac). Our guests have loved the view from the upper deck and commented that they felt the entire island was below their feet! That you found the house, yard and pool in good order is due to the hard work of our local friends/assistants. Although we want you to return to our home in the interim, we hope that someday you achieve your dream of retiring in Aruba!
All the best to you and your family,
Sunny and Ron
Waking distance to the beach, Marriott, and Ritz Carlton (5- 7 Min). The pool is nice and good size. The house was clean and kitchen had all you need to cook easy meals. We grilled a lot. The location is great as you can walk to beach if you want and lots of places to eat on beach and local shopping area within 15 min walk. Casino at Marriott. We did several excursions and they picked us up at the Marriott. The super foods (nice grocery store) is on the way home from the airport. We rented a car from top drive and very happy with service. You would not have to rent car as several shopping and food all within in 15 minute walk. Car was nice to explore on our own. Download maps before you go!! Jolly Pirates was really fun trip- discount if you schedule on-line, highly recommend if you like to drink.
thanks, we are glad you enjoyed your vacation, Ron and Joan
Great location, beautiful home
We had a great time in Aruba. The house is close to the beach in the high rise area (Ritz/Marriott). It is a 5-7 minute walk or drive to the beach. The owner is easy to communicate with and very responsive. The house has everything you need: beach and bath towels, kitchen utensils and equipment, seating, bedrooms, and a great backyard with an in ground pool. There is also an upper deck which gives a great all around view of the surrounding area. We watch the New Year's fireworks from the balcony an it was incredible. Arubans know how to celebrate New Year's eve and day. There is a small supermarket (Ting Wei) at the end of the street which is very convenient. We would stay here again.
Notes/Suggestions: The numbering for the neighborhood is a little out of order. The best way to find the house is to map the Aruba Racquet Club. The house is just past it on the left. The street is directly across from the Ting Wei Market. The various map apps don't accurately map to the house.
Paul, thank you for your kind remarks! We are so glad that you and your family had a great time. Every group that has been there for New Year's has commented on watching the fireworks from the upper level---it is spectacular! And we also love our Ting Wei---it's not large, but they always seem to have what you need. Come back soon----we love our "Repeat Offenders" ha ha!
A five minute walk is Palm Beach, a beautiful white sandy beach where the the Pro Am wind-surfing tournament is held annually. There are also plenty of white sandy beaches up and down the west coast and within driving distance; most within a 10 minute drive. All beaches in Aruba are public (this includes the beaches at the hotels) and most have free public parking areas. Also, most of the hotels have umbrellas and chairs, but may charge visitors for use. Boca Catalina, one of the best snorkeling locations on the island, is only a 3 minute drive.
The public bus stop is only a 5 minute walk; the buses provide service to most of the beaches, Oranjestad, and, with connections, the south and middle parts of the island.
Other Activities: Boating, shopping, kayaking, miniature golf
