Shore Thing - Pool & Heated Spa, Gorgeous home, one short block from the beach!

Welcome to the Shore Thing Beach Retreat! This beautifully renovated home has 4 bedrooms. Upstairs you will find the kitchen, living room, and 2 bedrooms (both with a king bed). Our kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to cook a meal for your family. You can relax on the comfortable sofas after a long day of exploring downtown or the beach. Downstairs there is one bedroom with two queen beds (and an en suite bathroom) and one king bedroom.

This property is located one block off the beach, with a short walk to the dune walkover. It's also not far from the historic downtown area.

The history of St. Augustine is incomparable with almost any other on our coast. Founded in 1565 it is chock full of amazing places to visit, from the oldest house to the first schoolroom, to the impenetrable fort built by the Spanish. Lincolnville, just south of downtown St. Augustine takes you on a walking tour of the history of the civil rights movement noting where Martin Luther King stayed on numerous occasions. Needless to say, there’s also so many unique shops, and the restaurants are so varied and truly have an international flavor! There are things to do no matter the weather! You can take a free boat ride to Fort Matanzas and learn the history about the battles fought. Further south is Marineland where you can swim with dolphins!

The St. Augustine and St Johns County area have a great variety of golf courses for players of every level and skill. There are always concerts at St. Augustine Amphitheatre and events at Francis Field as well. You will never run out of things to do here in St. Augustine. It is probably one of the most beautiful places in all of Florida, and for sure one of the most photographed! Come and see for yourself!

The cleaning company provides a limited amount of basic necessities (toilet paper, trash bags, dishwasher/laundry soap, etc.) to get you started, you will want to bring some with you. Garbage and recycling must be taken out to the street Sunday night for Monday morning pickup.

We don't offer refunds or reschedule stays during hurricane season, even if there is an evacuation order. Please purchase trip insurance for your stay if this is a concern.

The hosts were very attentive and super-quick to respond. The house was exactly as described with nothing lacking. You couldn’t get much closer to the beach. The beach is very clean and there is an active morning beach walking scene for sunrise. We had a really great time. The hot tub and pool were a highlight of the trip when the weather didn’t exactly cooperate. Would definitely rent again, without question.

All together our stay was good. The house is beautiful, especially the pool & hot tub. We also loved how private our beach area was. However, the beds were terribly uncomfortable and (without getting into all the specifics) the house wasn't quite as clean as it could've been. There were a few other problems but for the most part, we were happy with the house. I would give it a 7.5 out of 10

We enjoyed our stay at the Shore Thing home! It is close to the beach and is fully stocked with anything you would need in the kitchen except a crock pot. This would be the only thing I would suggest to pack. The home was very clean. We loved the pool as well. Thank you for a great vacation.

This house was perfect for our entire family. Plenty of room for all 10 of us. It was nice that we were able to eat all together at the large dining table. Pool was refreshing and beautiful! We loved the hot tub and pool. Quick walk to the beach so we were able to enjoy both a lot. Perfect set up for traveling with family. Quite area. The location is perfect; just a short walk to the beach and quick drive into St. Augustine for great dining and ice cream. There were a few cool days on the beach so we appreciated soaking in the heated spa, even though we were a little surprised that it doesn't have a "bubbler". David and his team were awesome; they responded quickly to questions before and during the stay. All rental houses need constant maintenance, and his team corrected minor issues quickly, even on the weekend. We look forward to returning to Butler Beach!

The home looks much better in photos than it does in person. Amenities are bare-bones: one flat pillow per guest, only twelve thin towels for a house that sleeps ten, and no extra blankets or sheets if it gets cold at night. No toiletries were provided either, which is pretty standard at most rentals these days. For the beach, you get six thin towels and nothing else.The house was somewhat clean, but kitchen drawers had food crumbs in them and the floors were sandy. The grill racks are falling apart, so it’s basically unusable.The pool is nice — it looks new — but that’s really the only standout. At around 600 a night, it’s hard to feel like you’re getting your money’s worth.

We are a little taken aback by this review, the guest didn't communicate anything about the items in this review to us during their stay. If they had, they would have found that we are very responsive hosts and would have explained the listing or addressed reasonable requests. The property is as depicted and described, including the pillows and blankets. The towel count is available to guests before booking in the listing description. The beach towels are Turkish towels, which dry quickly and don't hold on to sand like thick towels do. We do not advertise in the amenities that we provide a bunch of toiletries, we provide a bottle of shampoo/condition combo for each bathroom as well as hand soap. The pool is new and we are glad they appreciated it. We have professional cleaners who service the home after every stay. We would have been happy to send them back to address any requests that this guest had regarding the clean. We also could have checked out the grill racks that are reported in this review. It's not really fair guests to not mention any issues at all during their stay, and then give a low review without even giving us a chance to check things out.

This property was absolutely fantastic! The owners and property managers were truly the best we have ever experienced. The house was the perfect size for our family and made hosting a beachside Thanksgiving effortless.The location could not be better. The beach was a quick, easy walk and even our 5 and 7 year olds went back and forth with no problem. We soaked in gorgeous sunsets, enjoyed peaceful sunrise dog walks, and made the most of every moment.The pool and spa were spotless, well maintained, and worked perfectly. Inside, the home was incredibly clean and stocked with nearly everything we needed to cook dinner each night.We highly recommend this home and truly cannot wait to return!

This lovely open concept home accommodated our family of seven perfectly. It was nice to have three large ensuite bedrooms and another bedroom for kids. Cleanliness not as expected

This house was in a great location, close to the beach and in a quiet neighborhood. The upstairs of the house had a good layout, however the downstairs was not ideal. One very large bedroom had its own bathroom, but the other “bedroom” appeared to be a former storage room that had been converted to a bedroom with a door leading straight out to the carport. The house is older, but the kitchen and bathrooms have been renovated and were nice. The cleanliness of the house is definitely lacking and not what I would expect for a house that was rated highly for being clean. We have stayed in several rental homes and cleanliness is one of the most important things to me. This house did not meet my standards for clean. The furniture, floors, walls and baseboards were dirty. There were lots of dust bunnies and debris in corners and around/behind the furniture. The dining room chairs were not the same chairs as pictured in the listing and were very dirty and grimy, we didn’t even sit at the table much because of the chairs. We saw roaches in the bathrooms, which was concerning to me. The host was responsive when I contacted them and they sent the exterminator out.There is a pool being installed in the backyard, which will be nice. Hopefully it will be maintained better than the house.
