Trailside 4BR 2BA Cottage • Fenced Yard • Near Hyde Park
Cozy, clean, and perfectly located on the Wasson Way Trail, this 4-bedroom, 2-bath 1930s cottage offers comfort, character, and convenience just minutes from Hyde Park, Oakley, and downtown Cincinnati. Guests love the fenced backyard for pups, the warm décor with authentic touches throughout, and the TVs in every bedroom for relaxing at the end of the day.
Inside, the cottage features a welcoming living room, dedicated dining area, and a fully stocked kitchen designed to make meal prep easy during your stay. The main level includes two bedrooms and a full bath, while two additional bedrooms are located upstairs. A second bathroom and laundry area are located in the basement. With four comfortable queen beds, plenty of linens, and thoughtfully arranged sleeping spaces, the home works beautifully for families, groups, and travelers visiting for graduations, weddings, medical appointments, or weekend getaways.
The cottage sits directly on the Wasson Way Trail, giving guests instant access for walking, running, or biking. Ault Park, Hyde Park Square, and local breweries and restaurants are all just minutes away. Despite being in a peaceful residential pocket, the home is a short drive to major highways, making it easy to reach downtown Cincinnati, the airport, and surrounding attractions.
Please note that the cottage was built in the 1930s and includes multiple sets of stairs, including narrow original staircase access to the upper level. The home sits on a hill, so guests will climb steps from the driveway to the porch, and from the garage to the main level. Guests who prefer step-free access may find the layout challenging.
A train line runs in front of the property and trains do sound their horn when passing. Typical guests take this in stride, and the home is equipped with plaster walls, white noise machines, and box fans in the bedrooms to help soften the sound.
The fenced backyard offers a safe area for dogs to enjoy. Please be aware that there is a neighbor dog next door; if your dog is fence-reactive, please take this into consideration.
With warm hospitality, thoughtful amenities, and a location that balances quiet living with quick access to everything Cincinnati has to offer, Old Red Bank Cottage is a comfortable and reliable home base for your stay.

Beautiful house with so many thoughtful touches. Very clean and cozy. Looking forward to staying another time for longer. Thanks Jesse for such a wonderful little home.
We loved it! Very clean and comfy! She even had box fans in the rooms which was a plus for me. We always travel with a fan for the noise so we can sleep. We made the trip to visit the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum. It felt like we were at home. If we are ever back in the area we will definitely be staying here.
The absolute best vacation experience. Jessica and John made everything so easy and took such good care of us. We could not ask for better communication. The home is so cozy and equipped with everything you need, and you can tell how much love and thoughtfulness has been put into every detail. I hope we get the chance to visit again because we fell in love with the city. Thank you guys again!

Thank you again for staying with us Trisha!!! We wish you and your family a Happy New Year and welcome you back to Cincy any time :)
Such an amazing experience! The location was great! 15 mins from downtown close to restaurants. The property was perfect for our family as well as our fur baby.
Location was convenient to all the things we wanted to see in Cincinnati, and loved having a fenced in backyard for our dog. Our 7 yr old daughter really enjoyed the upstairs bedroom with the kneewall closet to play in. Neighbor was very nice and the hosts were great to work with.
The property was perfect for our needs as we were in town for a family wedding. A lot of fun memories were made the house as well stacked with everything we could’ve possibly needed.
Weekend getaway with friends for Reds ballgame. Perfect location close enough to city but still quiet. House was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Would definitely stay again!
Owner thought of everything when setting up this place for rental. Great place to stay and the beagle next door was so cute! Owner answers you right away and is very very friendly. I will definitely be staying here again. If you plan on visiting Cincinnati this should be the only place for you to stay unless of course it's booked
From the minute we walked in, we felt at home. This was a great place for my family to stay together for family weekend at Xavier University. The house was cozy and there were many details that went above and beyond! The communication with the host was wonderful! We would love to stay here again!
Everything was lovely and very clean. All that we needed was at a fingertip! The owners were absolutely fantastic. I can only say wonderful things about this property and our stay.
The house was neat and tidy, and the little touches of hospitality were well appreciated. Jess was great at communicating and answering questions. I really appreciated that!
Just perfect! The house is absolutely beautiful! The location is very peaceful and easy to find with directions given. Some might think its far from attractions, but its not honestly! Worth the drive! If ever in the area again and need a place to stay will definitely check on availability. Thank you to a great Host!!!!!
Jesse has created a warm and very welcoming home for her guests. Truly…no detail is overlooked here. Instructions were everywhere and very very helpful. So much comfort and cleanliness. Generosity and supplies for our small dogs. Great location. Amazing communication. I cannot say enough about Jesse and her wonderful guest cottage. Thank You so much!
We’ve never stayed in such a clean, pleasant and friendly place before. We felt so welcome and comfortable. All the little extras, too numerous to mention, were the perfect touch. Would definitely like to come back!
We came to Cincinnati for a contra dance weekend called Pigtown Fling. There were seven of us and the cottage was perfect for us. We would stay there, again.
The house had everything you could possibly need or want plus more. The property was clean inside and out and very comfortable. I would recommend this property to anyone staying in the Cincinnati area! The owners communicated clearly in the ad for the property but also provided a book full of information to help! We had an excellent time!
Loved it. Very comfy and clean. Good yard for dogs; towels and blankets even provided for them! Plenty of bedrooms if that's what you need. Definitely recommend.
Stayed for several nights while visiting family in Cincy. The location for us could not have been more convenient and easy to find. Bonus was that it is right on a bike trail. The cottage is well appointed, very clean and had everything we needed. Highly recommended.
Super nice cottage!! Nice back yard. The neighbor does have a dog so if you bring a dog like we did, they may not get along.

About the host
Hosted by Jessica Stambaugh
I grew up in a tiny town in rural Illinois and couldn’t wait to see more of the world. After high school I headed to Cincinnati, fell in love with the city, and completed my marketing degree at NKU. I then spent years building a dream career in the wine industry—working in retail, distribution, sales, education, and traveling internationally.
After a decade with the largest distributor in the country, I was ready for a new chapter. I invested everything into creating welcoming, thoughtfully designed short-term rentals, and I’ve fallen in love with the work all over again. Many of the personal touches, artwork from my travels, and meaningful pieces from my wine career are displayed throughout the cottage for guests to enjoy.
Why they chose this property
My husband and I fell in love with Old Red Bank the moment we discovered it. We purchased the cottage in 2015 as a long-term rental and were lucky to welcome tenants who stayed, saved, and eventually bought their own homes. We’re still friends with many of them today.
In 2017, we renovated a foreclosed home just down the street—an intense DIY project that took nearly a year, but completely worth it. It’s now home to our second set of tenants who are building their lives in Cincinnati.
When our most recent cottage tenants welcomed a new baby and moved into their forever home in 2022, we decided to turn the space into a furnished short-term rental. With growing demand in the area, it felt like the perfect next step.
I’m truly excited to share this neighborhood with you. Old Red Bank is special, and I can’t wait for you to experience it during your stay.
What makes this property unique
Old Red Bank Cottage blends 1930s charm with thoughtful updates, curated décor, and authentic personal touches collected through years of global travel and wine-industry adventures. Its trail-front location, fenced yard, and cozy, stylish spaces make it feel both welcoming and unforgettable.
