Great backyard

My family and I were in town for a wedding. The property was as advertised, clean and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful backyard. Quiet neighborhood, but easy drive to both north and south shores.

We always use this way to stay on vacations because of the size of the family. We had a great time and very clean.hist was also very responsive and accommodating my daughter became sick and needed extra time to check it and host quickly responded and gave the time needed.

Very Spacious

Very spacious with two living rooms, upstairs apartment style bedrooms and kitchenette. Only downfall was silverware was hard to find or have any at all for the amount of people in the home. Large backyard, would consider staying here in the future.

Nice house, great host

Very clean, host very attentive and communicative. Older house in good condition, would have been tight quarters for more than the 6 people we had (depending on couples vs individuals in the beds). One bed upstairs really a pullout couch -- relatively comfortable but not as comfortable as a real bed.

Deer Park Cape

Clean, comfortable 4 bedroom home. No air conditioning in 3 out of the 4 bedrooms but there were ceiling fans. No dining area other than 2 chairs at kitchen island. Host was very responsive.

Excellent experience

We we unfortunately in town for a funeral of a family member and the hotel we had reserved fell through last minute. We were literally acrambling last minute to get 5 of us a place for the weekend. They not only came through for us but worked quick to get it ready for arrival a few hours earlier than normal check in so that we could get ready for thw funeral. Nice touch that they had sympathy flowers waiting for us. The place served our needs well. It helped that there were 2 living rooma downstairs so anyone who wanted a few minutes to themselves could have it. Beautiful property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Needs Cleaning and Repairs

The price/per night would lead one to expect a clean and functioning home. Upon entry, it smelled of animals and filth. The kitchen cabinets and drawers had layers of food crumbs, filthy drawer liners and a lots of junk drawers. The floors throughout the home, especially the bedrooms, halls, ceilings fans and baseboards had gobs of filth and dust. Even a nightstand next to a downstairs bedroom had a jam type substance on it. There were no top sheets for all but one of the many beds. If basic cleaning had not been done on the hard surfaces, it was gross to think of how filthy the blankets or duvets were. The living room sofa cushions were lifted up to look for our grandchild’s toy and the filth of food underneath the cushions was disgusting. The sinks and tub downstairs appeared clean. Upstairs, the shower had mold and mildew. The home needed closet door repairs (hanging off hinges) and painting. We did ask for bedsheets, kitchen towels and toilet paper - which were promptly delivered. If that was do-able, why would the home not have been properly cleaned and repaired prior to arrival of guests and because they were receiving a more than generous payment for its use. Communication was very responsive until we requested a one hour later checkout.

Overall satisfied with stay

I rented this property on very short notice to accommodate several members of my family for my fathers funeral. I tried to cancel within hours of booking due to suddenly having more people to accommodate. I called the manager and he would not let me cancel however he stated that he would help make the stay more comfortable for the additional family members with extra towels and linens, which he did! The directions and house description was as described however I did think the house was not as clean as my standards are. I Immediately had to wash all the rugs, the bathroom, and wash all dishes and cups. My mother who was initially staying decided to go to a hotel do to the lack of cleanliness. I travel about 6 times per year and often rent through vacation sites, this was the first time I experienced a house having a lot of food in the fridge and cupboards, soaps and used sponges in the bathroom, as if someone was living there. I called the manager who always answered and was available and he informed me there was a Thanksgiving party prior to our rental time and he left all the food for our use. Some of the food was expired and I tossed in the trash other items beers and waters where consumed. The manager did came over and took all the trash to the road. All in all, the house did accommodate our large family, it was decorated very nicely, the fire place worked well and was very cozy. I feel like the manager was available and tried to make sure our stay comfortable. If in the area I would rent again.
