A long, winding driveway leads you into this private, wooded setting. This open floor-plan features a 36 ft long vaulted greatroom with a floor to ceiling, rock fireplace, 25' high beamed ceilings and an open staircase with a surrounding balcony. The south-facing wall of the great room is all windows, and there is a combination of pine floors in the living room area and tile throughout the dining room and island kitchen. There are French doors from the kitchen to the large, private wrap-around deck. It is partially covered and there is a quality, gas barbeque for guest use.
The kitchen is fully equipped and is designedfor a lot of people to congregate. There's an abundance of cabinets including food pantry cabinets for guest storage.

The 2nd floor has two large bedrooms, each with a queen bed and vanity/dressing rooms. There is a full bathroom in between.
There is a mud room between the kitchen and the attached double garage. The laundry room closet is adjacent to it. Off the mudroom there is a separate stairway to the 4th bedroom that we call the bunk room. It has its own bathroom, two sets of trundle beds and a queen size futon. Its very private and the vaulted ceilings and nooks & crannies make it a fun, versatile room to be in.

House is just as it appears, super well set up kitchen, lots of space for multiple cooks, great deck space, super kind owners. Wonderful for a friends or family getaway!
Great for two families. Adults have private rooms with a bunk room over the garage for the kids. Spacious kitchen and eating area. Owner with quick communication and took care of what we needed.
we had 4 guys staying along with two other houses for total of 12 guys. Spent only modest amount of time at house. Nice place and would stay there again. Thanks.
Layout of home is perfect for multiple couples or family members to have a space of their own. Little time spent at the property because we were here in Sisters for the Sisters Folk Festival. Would certainly rent this home again for a family or group get-away. It's a bit far from Sisters to make the run back and forth from the Folk Festival to the house....Thanks to the owners for providing a rental option!!!
Spacious, practical. Lots of windows and light. Garage is handy to park our bikes and store our coolers. We love the deck and appreciate the giant Ponderosa that has been preserved and incorporated into the deck layout. We've stayed here before and plan to stay here again. I like the location of Jim's home. What a gem!
It was so nice to get away from the pace of city living. The ranch was a wonderful place for all of my family. The older boys hit golf balls, the girls swam and rode bikes and I got to rest in a hammock,.
We went on hikes, horse rides, and bike rides. We enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets. I couldn’t recommend it more.
Owners sent several messages and the house had space to spare for a family of 6. I’d go back in an instant.
House was better than advertised. Stocked with all you need in the kitchen. Great layout for privacy for each room, nicely decorated. Owners are great to work with. Highly recommend
Our Family has been staying at BB, off and on, for the last 12+ years. The location of this property is awesome. You are a short bike ride from two pools, one of those being the Glaze Meadows pool. There is also a lake withing walking distance that the kids enjoyed catching frogs at and seeing deer. The property was clean and comfortable and the owner was easy to get ahold of if needed. Our family would defiantly book here again.
We had a great time here over spring break. The house was clean and spacious with well stocked kitchen. The location is great on a quite street right off bike path and space to play outside. Great communication with host.
The 4-bedroom home included a trundle-bed room for the four children, which they loved. The location between the Glaze Meadow pool and the South Meadow pool is excellent.
A few friends cam down for a golf trip and had the pleasure of staying here. It was perfect for a guys getaway. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space, a great deck area to hang out and tell lies about our golf games and a well stocked kitchen and pantry so we could cook each night. Overall, a great place to spend a weekend.
Thank you for sharing your gorgeous house with us. It was absolutely beautiful, clean, and comfortable!!! The layout was perfect and our kids thoroughly enjoyed their “apartment” upstairs. The deck is large and all, young and old, never tired of watching the many baby dear frolicking through the forest. Perfect location and distance from all of the amenities Black Butte has to offer.

Great place for an extended family gathering
Comfortable home with everything we needed to cook for ourselves and enjoy time together. Very peaceful environment. Fireplace and good supply of firewood for ambience, while the furnace kept the house warm and cosy. Would certainly come again for a similar gathering if it was available.

Beautiful home, great hosts!
We had a great winter weekend in Jim and Kathy's home in Black Butte. It's in a great location within the Black Butte committee. The house itself is beautiful, well-equipped, well-maintained, very clean, and spacious. The loft bedroom above the garage was a perfect room for all the kids to sleep in together with plenty of space for the little kids and adults to sleep in the bedrooms. 3 full bathrooms made bath-time and morning routines a breeze. Jim and Kathy are terrific hosts. Communication was quick and easy and they were very accommodating. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Best house in Black Butte!!!
What a great home to spend the holidays in! We were so happy with the LARGE kitchen, three bathrooms and the great sleeping space above the garage! The home is well equipped with EVERYTHING you would need in terms of kitchen supplies. Huge dining room to seat all of us for the holiday dinner.

About the host
Hosted by Jim & Kathy Foote
We first visited Black Butte Ranch in 1980 when friends invited us there for a summer week. We haven't missed a family summer vacation there since. It became a dream to own a home there and we eventually built are home there in 1991. It''s been one of our great loves ever since. Because our permanent home is in Portland, we also enjoy sharing our Black Butte home and The Ranch with guests.
Why they chose this property
Because we always visited there with extended family or another family, we designed the home to comfortably accommodate people with this in mind. Mainly with large gathering areas like the great room and the island kitchen with breakfast bar, extra cabinets & functionally no dead ends. We also considered this when we designed the large deck with full wrap-around bench seating.
