Coleman and Robin run Coletrain Music Academy, an award-winning private music school in Buena Vista. Coleman grew up in a small town just outside of Fort Worth, Texas where his love for music started at the age of 3 when he began taking violin lessons. Coleman has a degree in music performance and a minor in music pedagogy and over 15 years of experience in both teaching and establishing music education programs. In 2018 Coleman moved his music school Coletrain Music Academy to Buena Vista, Colorado where he currently serves students from Chaffee County and beyond. Coleman is also a founding member and fiddle player in the Internationally acclaimed and award-winning band Rapidgrass, established in 2009. Currently, when Coleman is not teaching he travels the world performing and teaching including an annual tour throughout Europe and India. Robin is also a native Texan. She has a degree in Marketing & Communication from Texas Tech University and currently wears a plethora of hats as an entrepreneur. As the other half of Coletrain Music Academy, Robin primarily manages the branding and marketing initiatives. Robin also owns a creative studio Brand + Bash where she provides branding, graphics design, web development, and storytelling services to companies large and small across a variety of industries throughout the United States.

Why they chose this property

The Cedar Street Retreat is not your run-of-the-mill vacation rental. This property was purchased in 2021 for the purpose of expanding Coletrain Music Academy (CMA). This apartment doubles as a music classroom during the week. Guests who play are encouraged to enjoy the beautiful upright piano. The apartment also serves as accommodation for teachers that CMA brings in for masterclasses, workshops, and performances. You can feel really good knowing that simply by booking the Cedar Street Retreat, you are supporting the fine arts as well as live music.

What makes this property unique

The converted garage on the property serves as the main music studio where CMA hosts group classes and open jams. During your stay, you might hear master violinist Coleman Smith practicing classical music or teaching a bluegrass tune. It's a very special property that guests return to again and again because of the welcoming experience and the magic of music.

The owners and CMA founders live full-time on the other side of the studio garage beyond the privacy fence. They are happy to assist guests should they require anything during their stay.

This apartment is a short 10-minute walk to a beautiful dog park, pump track, skate park, epic trails, and the majestic Arkansas River. You can also drive just 15 minutes to arrive at Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort, and in 40 minutes for incredible skiing or snowboarding at Monarch Mountain.
