Our whole team are more than happy with our stay at the Ravine in Calabogie. The property was just as good than the pictures and description, and even more. Thanks to Matt and Liz!
The property was well furnished, modern and spacious. I had an amazing time with my friends! The rental is also close to the Eagle’s Nest trail. Would come back.
Tha proerty is easy to locate. It has 6 bed rooms and 3 full baths. They are enough to accommodate 6 couples and make the stay comfortable. However, the dining table is a little tight for 12 people and there are not enough chairs for all sitting together around the table. The place is good for summer. If people want to come in winter, it will be a challenge. Most of the bed rooms do not have a closet. It will be difficult to find place to hang the winter coats.During our stay, the WiFi did not work. Fortunately, each one of us could access internet through our phones. Because the Internet didn't work, another device connecting to the modem/router beeped every 75 seconds non-stoppingly all day long. It was very annoying especially during the night.Overall, the place is nice and clean. The owner/management was responsive.
The chalet was everything and more. We were 3 families with a total of 10 people. There was a lot of room for everyone. The chalet had everything we needed. It was very clean. It was located close to Calabogie ski hill which was amazing. Thanks very much to our hosts Matt and Liz.
Lovely high quality property. Very nicely furnished with amenities. Nice that there was enough of the basics to avoid needing to stock up on olive oil, etc. Nice attention to the details.
We were seven women for a three day/night stay with our primary focus on playing some bridge, sharing good food and wonderful long time friendships! The accommodations were just as expected and met our needs perfectly. Matt was so accessible and pleasant to work with. We hope to go back again next year. Thanks Matt for your hospitality!

Eleven people spent a lovely three days in October: super clean and well-appointed property. Easy to get to and centrally located, although once we landed we didn't leave. Kitchen is well stocked with tools, dishes and cutlery to accommodate 12. Bathrooms all a good size and well-stocked with towels, TP and soaps/shampoos. Beds, sheets, pillows all very clean and comfortable and huge! Lots of room in various common areas for different groups to spread out - outside and in - yet spaces can accommodate everyone together when required. Chalet is exactly as advertised and as presented in photos - beautiful tree views, quiet area, simple but elegant decor and lots of comfortable places to hang out. Matt and Liz are lovely, responsive hosts and were happy to answer all our questions. We'd love to return!
TLDR: Nice comfortable place with modern touches. Great for a group of families. Great location to hit up Calabogie Peaks.
Stayed in the winter time.
Things to do/in the area:
Super close proximity to Calabogie Peaks meant that we could take the kids to the hill in the morning, take them back to rest of they got tired, and go back for ah afternoon session. Some nice cafe, brewery, pub, and restaurant a short drive away. Major grocery stores ~25 minute drive away so stock up on the way in.
The house itself:
Very well furnished in a blend of modern styling and cottage feel. Modern conveniences (smart TVs, smart speakers, gas fireplaces, bright pot lights). Love the availability of kid friendly dishes and utensils, crib, and high chair. Well stocked kitchen with appliances, we made a turkey dinner and forgot a baster... But they had one there! Everything we needed including a hand mixer, blender, and roasting pan. Great big firepit outside with space to have 6 adults and 5 kids roasting marshmallows and making smores with the provided firewood. Bathrooms were spacious with one on each floor. Bedrooms were very comfortable with 3 king, 2 queen, and 2 twin beds. The living room/dining room space is great for the kids to play and adults to chill and the downstairs living room space was great to lounge and watch movies. Boardgames provided good family entertainment.
Communication:
Matt and Liz were super easy to reach and responded to questions super fast.
The house was exactly as described. Large place with 6 bedrooms...two on each of 3 floors. The owner's were very communicative and everything worked. Being able to use the washer/dryer was handy. We cooked in most nights and used the grill. Everything worked and the kitchen was reasonably well equipped....even had oil/vinegar/salt/pepper and some basic spices. Nice place.
