April discounts just for you! We have Starlink and a wood stove!
Welcome to our page! We believe you will not find another cabin in the area that shows each piece to be more lovingly and individually selected.
Please note: Holiday times may require a 2 or 3 night minimum stay. Please inquire of host. And, no checkout on Thanksgiving Day!!
Look at the radiant couple in the last of the photos! They just recently got married at the cabin and said their day was perfect. We love that!
Spring is spectacular in Pine Mountain Club!
Additional Amenities: We own the property adjacent to the cabin, a park-like space available to our guests! It contains a horseshoe pit, horseshoes included; a rock pond with a waterfall (filled in the spring); a picnic table; many rustic and well-used seating areas and benches; three covered benches for reading or relaxation; a wishing well; a windmill; walking paths; and decorative garden art. We hope our guests enjoy this new property and new feature of Anya's Cottages.
Our cabin has been used by more than one film crew (see Frazier Park Recut and The No Problem Zone with Eric Roberts!) and for a number of club retreats. It borders the protected national forest and has a soothing, seasonal stream on the property. It is private and tucked in tall pines but is walking distance to the village where you can shop for groceries, browse for antiques, go to the local coffeehouse, dine, and listen to local music.
The cabin has undergone a deep cleaning and an attractive renovation, which includes TV with Roku; spa tile in the main bathroom; a rain shower head; Pergo flooring up and downstairs; a full-sized stove, oven, and new hood; programmable coffeemaker; vacuum cleaner, mop, and broom; some new furniture and decorations; new glasses, knives, and pot and pan set; small coffee grinder; brand new blender; brand new electric kettle; DVD player and some DVD's; log bed for the second bedroom (now in addition to the one in the primary bedroom); IKEA twin bed and mattresses; some new pillows--both down and hypo-allergenic; and, new fixtures in the downstairs bath; new paint throughout, new sheets, pillowcases, comforters, and towels. All carpets are brand new! But, most importantly: we have hooked up the new propane heater! And, what a difference it makes. Having gas heat in the bedroom/main bath area keeps you more toasty than most of the cabins do which tend to have electric heaters here in PMC. And, upstairs, the wood stove keeps you as warm as you'd like! There are two large ceiling fans in the upstairs living area and plenty of ventilation. And, we now have air conditioning.
This 1200+ square foot, two-story cabin has two bedrooms (one with a queen-sized log bed and a twin, the other with a full-sized log bed and a twin); two fold-out sleeping pads; a big couch; one-and-one-half baths; is paneled in knotty pine throughout; and, filled with authentic vintage mountain furnishings, antiques, and cozy quilts. It also has several decks where you can relax in pure solitude and privacy and enjoy the tranquil scenery. But, we also have Starlink installed.
Be sure to visit Fern's Lake which is half a block away. Kids, bring your fishing poles (barbless catch and release)! In winter, you can sled just steps behind the property.
The clubhouse in the village offers many activities and amenities, including golf, a new outdoor pool (open from Memorial Day to October), a bistro, and a recreation room for the children. Mount Abel (Cerro Noroeste) and Mount Pinos (over 8800 feet) are nearby. Pine Mountain Club also offers a number of festivals throughout the year. Guests will be allowed the use of complementary passes. They must be returned to the wood holder on the green desk in the downstairs hall.
GUESTS WILL BE CHARGED $100 (unfortunately, that is not a typo) FOR EACH MISSING POOL PASS (the white magnetic card). There is no exception. The HOA has changed its policy. Those are the fees that owners will be charged for each missing pool pass. So, please be extra careful about that so that you won’t be charged. The pool charges a $5.00 fee per day per user.
The cabin sits at 5400 feet, so come and enjoy the snow in the winter, the bright blue skies and sunshine in the spring and summer, and the colors in autumn. You will not be disappointed.

We loved it
We had a great time. The weather was very wintery--we saw snow! The cabin was super cute. Warm, cozy, very clean, and adorable. Our kids has a great time watching the videos and playing games by the wood fire when we weren't outside. We hated to leave. We will be back and stay a week!

Dear Ruth,
Thanks so much for the lovely review. We hope you come back soon. You and your family were great guests! Marilyn
A quintessential California mountain cabin. Beautiful views. Cozy and private. The cabin sits just above a creek separating the property from the open wilderness and half a mile from a general store that sells snow chains and Napa Cabernet. The host was very generous and went above and beyond to accommodate us. Would definitely recommend!

Ben,
Thank you for your very kind review. You took on the challenge of entering the mountains during the only window of opportunity all weekend, I think. The biggest snowstorm in decades! I hope you made memories and am so happy you enjoyed yourselves. Brave travelers!

Best mountain getaway ever
My friends and I have come to this cabin 3 times. Each time is better than the last. The location is perfect--lots of hiking close by. Walk to Fern Lake and the village. The cabin itself has everything you need and is so cozy! It's adorable and well-loved. It's obvious that lots of memories were created here. We will be back again. Thanks!

Wonderful romantic getaway
My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Anya's cabin. Rustic, secluded, and just what we needed. The only problem with the cabin cropped up soon after we arrived when we realized the shower was broken. But I emailed the owner and literally within the hour a plumber had showed up and fixed it in minutes.
The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and the living area is cozy. As of July 2013 there was PLENTY of firewood-don't worry about bringing your own!!!
Stargazing from the private back patio was the icing on the cake. Definitely coming back!

Fun for the whole family
We had an amazing time in PMC, and staying at this cabin made it possible. Our family of four (2 kids) and one set of grandparents cozied up in this cabin. It was the perfect size---not too cramped, but not too big. There's enough privacy when someone wants a little quiet reading time outside or downstairs, but a perfect opportunity for families to spend some quality time together in one great room. Plenty of blankets, heat, kitchen amenities. Unfortunately there were no complimentary toiletries as listed, but everything else was as promised.
This location is perfect. In fact, we checked out the area and some open houses and at the end of the day decided this cabin was still the best of all we'd seen. It's close proximity to the town center is convenient and fun. It's very quiet out back even though there are neighbors on both sides and across the street. Definitely a cabin to return to.

Hi, Cindy,
Thanks so very much for your detailed and kind review! I'm very sorry that toiletries were not put out for you. That has been corrected--for the next time you visit. :) We're so glad you stayed with us.
Marilyn
Let's start with the positive. A short walk to Fern Lake (more like a pond, but pretty), beautiful area. Don't go on Tuesday or Wednesday as most restaurants (4 of the 5) are closed. A/C does not reach upstairs common area, sliding doors difficult to close and lock, loud sagging floors upstairs, sheets felt like sandpaper (old flannel in Summer?), 1st floor balcony nothing to sit on. This wasn't the owners fault, but all of Wednesday there was a large truck sucking up rocks and gravel across the street. No peace and quiet, which was why we went, so we left a day early. BTW we saw similar complaints in the guest book from 4 years ago, so the owner doesn't care.

First, I'd like to say we've rented our cabin through VRBO for over 24 years, and I'm proud to be a Premier Partner, which means I consistently provide high quality service to our guests.
Sadly, Ed and Paula W complained to us about things that made little sense:
1.) They said that the AC was blowing in their faces all night in the bedroom. However, we don’t have AC in the bedrooms. (The rooms tend to stay cooler since they are downstairs and stay shaded most of the day.
2.) They said that the large ceiling fans and excellent ventilation upstairs did not cool the cabin. The temperatures during the day were in the 70’s or low 80’s and went down to the mid 60’s or lower at night--perfect sleeping temperature. I do not understand this claim. We never had this complaint before.
3.) They complained about “sagging floors” and that their dog was sliding and could barely walk on them. That makes no sense to me. For one, we had a new floor put in a few years ago, and for another, I am totally confused.
4.) They complained about the top sheet feeling like old sandpaper. I have no idea what that means. I bought 2 new quality sets of cotton and flannel sheets, pillowcases, and comforters for all the beds within the last three months.
5.) They complained about workmen working across the street.
The main problem I see with all these complaints is that the guests didn’t come to us with any of the problems--they didn’t give us the opportunity to help. We say very clearly that if a guest has any problems while at the cabin, I encourage them to contact me or my caretaker--contact numbers available for both. If the top sheet was a problem, for example, I could have directed them to other clean cotton sheets in one of the dressers.
If you rent with us, please know that I will do everything in my power to give you a fabulous visit. I have happily stayed on the phone or text with cabin guests for long periods of time if they perhaps were having a problem finding something or maybe having some questions about the WIFI.
Do come stay with us. I think you’ll be pleased!

Unclean Uncoordinated
When we arrived a little early, just to orient to Pine Mountain Club, there was a moving van at the property. The previous occupant was still packing things out. They had filmed a movie there. We came back at 3:30, after our hike and an hour and a half after check-in time, The place was a disaster. All dirty towels, trash, unmade beds. I called the owner and left a message. About 20 minutes later, a cleaning crew arrived and it took them two hours to clean up the mess. The owner gave us no discount. Terrible, irresponsible owner!

Ninety-nine percent of guests are absolutely wonderful! And, very rarely, we get a guest like Jeffrey. He arrived early--did not follow our directions on check-in time. We are one of the few cabins that have only a two-hour turn-around time. Why? Because we like to give guests as much time at the cabin as possible. Our housekeepers hustle for us. On this particular occasion, they made a mistake and did not have it on their calendar. The minute Jeffrey contacted us, I got in touch with our cleaning team leader, and she and her crew arrived at the cabin in minutes and cleaned and sanitized within a short period of time.
I felt very bad about the error, and of course, let the guest know. For his inconvenience, I offered him a complementary 3 hour late-checkout. I have no idea if he took it since I didn't hear from him again.
I had considered giving Jeffrey a partial refund. But, then he wrote the above review.
We want to give you your best stay possible and will respond to any problems. You have our word on that.
