About this property
Tanglewood - Large Waterfront Home in PEC
Summary:
We invite you to spend your next PEC getaway at Tanglewood! This charming, four bedroom, waterfront cottage sits atop an incredible view of the Adolphus Reach and offers all the comfort and amenities of a beloved family cottage.
We're a pet friendly home with a beautiful, large, treed lot and wonderful swimming from our dock while it's in the water from late May to early October. Tanglewood has excellent wifi speeds making it a great destination for those working from home.
The Space:
The sprawling layout of Tanglewood is what makes it the perfect place to gather your family together for a vacation filled with relaxing conversation, cooking together, sitting fireside, and sharing lots of laughs. The newly renovated kitchen offers ample space to gather round as you cook a delicious meal or chat over morning coffee. Fully equipped with cooking tools, appliances, and staples - this space will make it easy to entertain a big group and serve up some sweet memories as you prepare food during your stay. The kitchen and dining room make up one space in the cottage and feature a record player with a wide selection of records to choose from. Kitchen dance party, anyone? Not to mention, the view from the kitchen is one to beat. Large windows look out over the Adolphus Reach, the river that spans between PEC and Adolphustown on the opposite side. Catching a sunset will make tidying up from dinner a little more desirable while you’re here.
Mosey into the West Wing of the cottage and you’ll find the primary bedroom which offers a king sized bed and another spectacular view of the water. You’ll be in no rush to throw back the covers each morning as you peer out to the river and take in the sights. A second bedroom located on this side of the home features two queen sized beds and an optional crib for tiny guests. You’ll find the beds to be comfy, with clean and crisp linens.
The recently renovated bathroom boasts a double vanity, walk-in shower, and separate bath tub. This large washroom can accommodate all the kiddos at bath time or the whole fam for brushing their teeth before bed. Each element of the West Wing offers clean simplicity, while remaining cozy and inviting, like a family cottage passed on through generations. You’ll be charmed by the vintage, nature-based artwork and sense of nostalgia here.
As you dip into the East Wing, you’ll find the heart of the home. A large and welcoming living room with a gorgeous brick fireplace as the focal point, sure to warm your toes after a day of exploring. Sink into this space with an array of entertainment, from a fully stocked bookshelf, to children’s toys, and board games. Enjoy a blast from the past by popping in a DVD for movie night or challenge someone to a game on the N64. This space is designed for connecting with those around you and tuning into some quality time.
The East Wing of the cottage offers two more bedrooms. One room features a queen sized bed with an ensuite 3-piece bathroom. You’ll find two bunk beds in the next bedroom, perfect for all the cousins to camp out and feel like it's one big sleepover every night. These cozy bedrooms offer simple decor touches, with elements of wood and natural textures, on a backdrop of sunny yellow walls.
And to save the best for last, the outdoor space at Tanglewood is exactly where you’ll want to be during your stay. A large deck spans out from the kitchen and overlooks the riverfront - equipped with seating and a BBQ. You’ll find that the outdoor space offers great privacy, so you’ll feel that seclusion and intimacy with your group during your stay. You can also curl up in the screened-in porch on a rainy day or for a bug-free hang. The huge firepit is the perfect spot for roasting marshmallows, watching the sunset, and hanging out late into the evening as you soak up the sounds of nature around you. The highlight of the property in warmer months is walking through the forest down to our beautiful waterfront and dock where there's incredible swimming awaiting you.
Overall, Tanglewood is a meeting place. A place to gather with those you love and tuck your phones away to relish in the good ol’ times. We love Tanglewood for her comfort and welcoming energy and hope you’ll find joy in your stay here.
This home is fully licensed per Prince Edward County bylaws (ST-2020-0172) to host 8 adults and up to 2 children under the age of 10.
Please note that there is a steep driveway down to our cottage, which isn't always driveable in the winter. We recommend parking at the top of the hill and walking down in the winter months.
The Neighborhood:
Located by Cressy, one of PEC’s most picturesque regions, you’ll have easy driving access to wineries, a petting farm, hiking trails, beaches, and restaurants that boast beautiful views of the water.
